When I was there before, I resided in Madison... is that such an area? It was still in Davidson, though.

This might be like moving to Nineveh, kind of. In hindsight from when I was here, that is sort of how it turned out. Lotsa churches, almost as many hypocrites, or at least preachers and other purported servants of the gospel who make it about themselves as much as about God. The unwritten rules are strange, including at least this:

(1) Don’t ever suggest that what we do before the Lord has consequences. At best they’ll whine about your being offensive; at worst they’ll fire you.

(2) If you’re enjoying a sinecure with a bunch of others, don’t stick your neck out to actually look like you want to be effective (I did that, and the guy who recommended me apparently got the silencing treatment at the same time I was fired... but it was after 8 weeks of thumb twiddling at gummit expense).

But that doesn’t seem to characterize the folks that I would be working with. One occasionally does find a fleck of pure gold in the middle of a huge puddle of mire. They’ve been tested... they were patient with my buddy Ronnie. Maybe we looked like something real as opposed to all the cloying, oppressive phoniness. We’d work with them, as long as they remain viable.

Thanks.

I like your tag too, as it actually approaches the question from the right direction. If we woo curses, no amount of trying to ban abortions, or even the soul murders that we more commonly know as bullying, is going to help. Only blessings will help. It isn’t God who is ever holding grudges. We have been the ones holding grudges — leaving God no room to bless — and it is ridiculous.

It is not without fear and trembling that I approach this, but that is the right way to work out my salvation. The power thereby uncorked is awesome. Because it doesn’t just sit there and stay my private salvation. It works salvation to others and there can be some pretty nasty face-offs with Satan in the process.

But yes. I now think the final move of the Lord, before His return (and we may be on the brink of that final move) will be to endeavor to flush evil away through a veritable flood of blessing, a very large number of elect having been set up throughout the earth in order to facilitate the receiving of that blessing. If we thought Jesus bled big time for our sins... just hold His wine and watch this, now.

This is a major reason why we got Donald Trump — who is a most uncommon politician and one who seems to act as though God had spoken audacious and genuine hopes to him — and not Hillary. But Donald Trump alone won’t suffice, of course; if the nation rebelled against the reforms he wants to usher in, the nation would not benefit from these reforms.

Anyhow, for me, but I have a spiritual sense that some might call weird, this looks like hitting the broad side of a barn. It’s almost impossible to miss. I don’t think I’m going to be alone before long.

I can’t reveal the song right now that I wrote for this, but God has inspired me with many other audaciously optimistic gospel songs. I smell Christ coming... like the bible says, a smell of life unto life. Once this goes public (I believe it will) then I’ll post it here too.

Aside from a few enclaves, Nashville encompasses all of Davidson County (although some places, such as Madison and my locale in Antioch still keep their names even though they’ve long since been annexed into the city).

I guess what passes for “Old Nashville” can be found in the suburbs, it’s increasingly hard to find in the city. Many newcomers being out of state have transformed it. It’s booming and expensive now. The politics are increasingly offensive and out-of-step with the rest of the state.

I wish you well if you come back here.

Well, what I knew was Madison circa 2012-2014 so that probably isn’t like “Old Nashville” either. It was OK to live in.

At that time, Nashville still boasted being a better bargain than Chicago, but that is probably rapidly changing. I hear you and a lot of others about the lefties. I just saw a “Nashville Power Together” event advertised on my Facebook, which I got because I have two nieces (in-law) who are quite lefty, but I still don’t shut them out of my life.

This is not where a typical Freeper would want to go to bask in conservative environs. It seems the city of country music has indeed gotten all citified. Country music has a charm, but it’s like visiting the farm to them, maybe. Nice to visit, but who’d ever want to LIVE there? Where would we ever get our lattes? From cows?

But anyhow, maybe I’m even talking myself out of this, if somehow the deal could be worked remotely from the publisher and still, my buddy and I could live in the same place. Even Omaha is more conservative. Maybe he’d come to Omaha. I think he doesn’t like the so called rednecks (arrogant city folk, really) of Nashville. The thing that keeps calling “Nashville” to me (if it isn’t the devil) is the fact that yes, a lot of artists still call that home. If we want to pitch something, say, to Charlie Daniels and do it with a personal meeting... it’s harder to do it from Omaha. But again, folks in Nashville who really believe in us could still be the go-between. The entities that we would want to approach are knowns. One doesn’t just meet a star, walking in downtown Nashville.

Pray for God to give me wisdom as to what to do. I want the publishing nexus. I feel a little nostalgic for Nashville because that’s where I got a lot of genuine inspiration... there very much are muses down there. But maybe a muse came along with me when I went to Omaha, too.

But on the other hand, there is one very non-lefty thing about Nashville that I last knew.

Guns. And shooting galleries. Not at all shy about their advertising, either. Honkin’ large billboards.

And somehow, per capita, the killing rate (in 2012) was 1/4 that of Chicago. Whatever spurs lots of killings, guns don’t seem to be it. No, personally I’m not a shooter, though maybe as the redneck side of me keeps on blooming I might yet be some day just for the fun of shooting some humongous gun, but it seems strangely comforting that my ordinary neighbor, should he or she meet an intruder bent on serious evil, probably could drill said intruder. No run and hide and panic.

Of course, the lefties probably have a hungry eye on that too. Still, it would seem that is one line of standoff that is unlikely to be crossed soon.

Well, between you and the Lord, you’ll have to decide what is best for you. Forgive me, I didn’t realize you’d been in Nashville that recently (so aside from new construction and soaring rates for real estate, except for my neck of the woods, it hasn’t changed that dramatically). I made the incorrect assumption you’d lived here in the ‘70s or earlier when Nashville was still Nashville. Fleeting for me, since I was a little kid then. It was all gone by the time I was 20.

Truth be told, I’m not much of a country music fan, anyhow. I’m familiar with the old-timers, some of which was tolerable enough to me, but the new stuff ? Nope. I wouldn’t know most of the post-1980/90s country stars if they bit me on the butt (except for Taylor Swift, and she can nibble on me anywhere she pleases).

Sadly, even Omaha is being moonbatified, having gone for the Butcheress of Benghazi in November (Lincoln, too). So if you choose Omaha or Nashville, I’d move to the areas just outside so you’d be more with like-minded non-nutters.

As for guns, if we didn’t have the supermajority Republican legislature looking out for our 2nd Amendment Rights, Nashville would go full-fascist totalitarian in trying to keep them out of the hands of everyone but the police, criminals and illegals (but I repeat myself). The moonbat Communist Mayor sneakily ran off the famous Gun Show held at the fairgrounds (because we all know how gun shows always erupt in mass-scale shootings, right ?).

I’m quite familiar with Chicago’s... derangement.

Anyway, prayers the Lord leads you to where you need to go.
