Ezekiel 38 Scenario Developing Rapidly

Ever since the failed coup in Turkey, there has been a rapid alignment towards an Ezekiel 38 scenario and several of these developments need to be addressed.

First, some background: Ezekiel 38 describes a war between Israel and certain surrounding nations with the enemies of Israel having the motive of taking a certain spoil.  This war has clearly not yet taken place and it appears to occur shortly before the millennial reign of the Messiah (Jesus) per the text, likely around the time of the rapture and the beginning of Daniel's 70th Week.  While there is some debate regarding Russia's involvement, there is no debate on who the other allied countries are as the passage is explicit: Turkey, Iran, Libya, and Sudan.  Yet strong arguments can be made for Russia's leadership role from history and the text itself and this appears to be what we see happening.  For decades proponents of Bible prophecy have said you should expect to see an alignment of these countries as we near the return of Christ and this exact alignment is now rapidly forming.  Russia and Iran have been cozying up economically and militarily for a number of years, yet Turkey remained allied with the West via NATO.  That all changed on July 15th of this year when a coup failed in Turkey.

1. Northern Israel

The prophesied war occurs in the mountains of northern Israel and according to biblical boundary definitions, northern Israel includes Lebanon, the Golan Heights, and even other areas of southern Syria.  The culmination of the alignment between Russia and Iran can be clearly seen not only in Russia finally delivering the S-300 missile system to Iran, but also in the joint military operation between the two countries in Syria in an effort to back Assad and defeat the western-backed rebels.  Some of this is happening within the literal borders of biblical northern Israel.

2. Turkish-Russian-Iranian Alliance

For years it seemed as though Turkey would be at perpetual enmity with Russia and Iran, especially after the Turkish downing of a Russian jet over Syria, yet in the past month everything has changed.  Russia and Turkey have undergone complete rapprochement, agreed to a joint pipeline making an end-run around Ukraine, and are now talking about a tripartite alliance between the two countries and Iran.  Turkey has also largely turned against the West, post-coup.

Why this sudden about-face?  10 hours before the coup attempt, Russian intelligence services discovered the plot and informed Erdogan, which gave him ample time to prepare.  Simultaneously, the Iranians encouraged Erdogan not to confront the coup militarily, but instead to face it down by sending his supporters into the streets - he took the advice and it ended up keeping him in power.  Western countries then spent weeks criticizing Erdogan's response to the coup (rightfully so), but as a consequence, Turkey now feels betrayed and abandoned by NATO and literally saved by Russia and Iran.  A monumental shift in global geopolitics has occurred - one that fits perfectly with Ezekiel 38.

3. The Bystanders

An amazing confirmation of the unfolding Ezekiel 38 scenario is the specific countries that now oppose Turkey, Russia, and Iran: Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan - the very countries specifically absent from the list of countries involved in the Gog and Magog alliance.  In fact, these three countries have made nice with Israel of late and Saudi Arabia is specifically mentioned in Ezekiel 38:13 (Sheba and Dedan) as a bystander which questions Gog's intentions.  It is downright astonishing that this very specific alignment of nations has occurred at this time.  There is no historical precedent.

4. The Spoil

Ezekiel 38:10-12 describes Gog's motivation for the war: to seize spoil from Israel.  With massive natural gas reserves found off Israel's coast in the Leviathan and Tamar fields, in addition to recently discovered oil fields in the Golan Heights, the main spoil is quite obvious.  Russia's wealth comes almost entirely from oil and natural gas and any regional competitor that might challenge its monopoly over Europe will be seen as a grave threat.  So for Russia, Israel is both an economic treasure-trove and a financial threat, but for Turkey and Iran, Israel is a religious abomination whose spoil they believe belongs to Muslims.

5. Russia Testing The Waters

While Iranian forces have been on Israel's border for years (via its proxy Hezbollah), Russia has steered clear.  But there is news that Russia has tested Israel's airspace defenses using an older model Israeli-made drone.  Russia is of course calling it an accident, but make no mistake, for some unspecified reason, Putin wants to know how hard it would be to penetrate Israeli defenses.

6. Libya and Sudan

All that now remains is for Libya and Sudan to enter the fray, but it won't take much for that to happen: both are natural allies of Erdogan and both are opposed to Egypt's current leadership.  Both would also like to see Israel wiped out.

I’ve wonder if some of the events in the drama of Revelation may be patterns and not isolated, single occurrences. That this won’t be the last time Russia gets tempted to do something like this. If this blows over after a period of tension, Christians can’t necessarily just say whew, that’s checked off the list.

And I could posit this might equally rest upon specific demonic activity. Russia going after big empires is as much a product of the philosophy it historically embraces, as it is of specific people in it.

The results from a Putin might be relatively small potatoes. He seems to like capitalism and his conquests are small. From a Lenin or a Stalin, a big brutal disaster would result.

The frustrating thing about awaiting the fulfillment of prophecy is the “awaiting” part. It always seems to take longer than we think it should.

My take is that yes, the Ezekiel 38 coalition is forming. However, I think that it will take a while to crystalize.

In the meantime, I believe that we are now either in or just before Seal 3 in the Book of Revelation. The timing is literally written in the stars.

From the Book of Genesis, Chapter 1, verse 14:

‘And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years...”’

Then, in the Book of Revelation, Chapter 12, verses 1-4:

“A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. 3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. 4 Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born.”

The great sign of the woman will occur on September 23, 2017. It is a specific and unique combination of the constellation Virgo, nine stars from the constellation Leo, four planets, the sun, and the moon. From the time that this prophecy was revealed in the Book of Revelation (circa 90 A.D.), this sign has not yet occurred. However, because of the precise regularity with which celestial bodies run their courses in the heavens, we can know with certainty that the great sign of the woman will occur on September 23, 2017.

Take all this with a grain of salt. I’ve followed end times prophecy for some time. The narratives continually change as circumstances change.

In Matthew Jesus made it very clear..
Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Did anyone foresee that the nation of Israel would be birthed after WWII...as a fulfiment of Eze 37:1 - 14.

think about it, who would have thought Israel would be born as nation after being almost totally horrifically wiped out of existence.

Trying to put a timeframe on God’s prophesies is not possible. That is why Israel is still looking for the Messiah.

Please consider the following logic.

Yahuah put the lights in the heavens to mark sacred times.

And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years” Genesis 1:14, NIV

Yahusha, his son, said “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” Matthew 24:36

Yahusha spoke those words in the present tense. He spoke the truth. At that time, prior to his crucifixion, he DID NOT know.

However, a generation later, his Father plainly told him what would happen.

“1 The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Revelation 1:1-2, NIV

Later in Revelation 12:1-4, he describes the “signs to mark sacred times” in detail. At that time, a generation after his crucifixion, he DID know. His Father gave him a new “revelation.”

Using astronomy software, we have the ability to determine exactly when the sign of The Woman will appear in the heavens, namely, September 23, 2017. This sign will occur only once in human history.

Yahuah did not give us the date on a Gregorian calendar. He gave us the date by revealing to us the precise positioning of the “lights in the vault of the sky.”

I am not a prophet. I do not claim to be a prophet.

I am merely translating Yahuah’s dating from Yahuah’s calendar to the Gregorian calendar.

0 is arming Libya right now. It will not be long before they join in and Sudan will follow merrily along like little pirates looking for loot.

It’s going to be very bloody but when it is over there will still be an Israel. As long as there is a sun that gives light and a moon there will be an Israel.

These countries will NEVER wipe her out completely.

Not a biblical subject I spent much time on. Too much speculation. the timeline of everything is total speculation.

Notice Jesus answers in Matt 24....it is a non-answer. The events he described have happened over and over in history. this I know for sure, I have a degree in history.

I stick with those things in the Bible that I can back up pretty concretely.

Just finished a study of the OT and how Israel and Judah were overrun and by who. God raised up Assyria and Babylon to accomplish His purpose.

He's been doing this a long, long, time.

I dont spend much time on end time prophecy, especially the timing of things. But I dont agree with your doctrine.

Somewhere in there a a huge war takes place and Israel decimates everyone. The alliance is much bigger than any of the wars Israel has had since becoming a nation again.

Interesting. I am in complete agreement with your post. I confess that it hit me about five years ago that if you consider when Israel became a nation, and the phrase “...this generation shall not pass away until all these things come to pass”, and that in the bible, a generation is ~70 years, you come up with a completion of 2017.

Now, I’m not talking “day” or “hour”, but a generalization. And now we have this “September 23, 2017” stuff, and even planet X has returned to the end-times stuff regarding that date.

First time I ever heard of Planet X, btw, was back in the mid-1970’s on a Firesign Theater comedy album, “How Time Flies”.

I take all of this stuff with a grain of salt, partly because I’ve been following it since the Hal Lindsey stuff in the late 1970’s, and so much of it was a bunch of wildly inaccurate speculation. But that doesn’t mean someone today isn’t right.

This is interesting. I was reading end times prophesy a few years ago and as I read the verse about the sun becoming black and the moon becoming red, I postulated that what could cause this is a large planet coming between the sun and the earth, with the earth closer to the sun than the moon.

The planet would completely block the sun, and the moon could become red as it does during a lunar ecclipse, but depending on the atmosphere of this larger planet, it could become quite a bit redder than in a normal lunar ecclipse.

Hypothetically speaking, of course, a large planet coming close to the earth and passing between the earth and the sun could cause this exact phenomenon. Not to mention “earthquakes”, it it’s close enough.

We have an opportunity to escape the worst parts of the coming troubles if we will simply accept the gift of life that Yahusha (Jesus) bought for us.

Yahuah (God) tells us that the heavens pour forth knowledge, if we will only listen.

The important part of the analysis is not the coming show in the sky, but rather the author to whom it points - Yahuah. He is making it clear to us that he is real.

We must turn from the darkness (sin). We must follow his son, Yahusha (Jesus). We must accept the gift of eternal life that Yahusha bought for us with his life.
