Don’t ‘say no to drugs’ in Germany! Rehab clinic masks illegal Scientology church

Ad stands for rehab facilities with the particular slogan ‘Say no to drugs – say yes to life’ in Germany are under serious suspicion of being nothing more than a Scientology recruitment scheme, police warn. The sect is illegal in Germany.

The enigmatic group, which believes our human souls have alien beginnings, does not enjoy the same legal status everywhere. In the United States it boasts dozens of Hollywood A-listers among its members and biggest donors.

Not so in Germany, where the religious sect has been deemed “unconstitutional” since 1997 by domestic security, despite its existence there since the 1970s. This has led to a proliferation of masquerading tactics.

The group has already been found operating under different names in Germany, and according to the recent statement from the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Hamburg residents are being warned about particular ad stands featuring the most common anti-drug slogan of all.

The statement says the campaign is not linked to any drug rehab clinic or counseling service, but instead leads to a conversation with an agent of the Church of Scientology, as it tries to “win over new members.”

The sect is illegal in Germany.

I find Scientology scary, but the concept of a government banning it even scarier.

If Scientology were just a religion then it would be just fine. But, like Islam, it is an all-encompassing philosophy that dominates every aspect of someone’s life and, like Islam, it promotes practices that are abhorrent to civilized society.

Both should be banned.

Normally I would agree. But Scientology is an exception. It is not in fact a religion. It is a cult like organized crime syndicate masquerading as a church.

Scientology in Germany = NO
Islamic Jihadism in Germany = Seems to be okay with the government types.

Agree. And Islam is constitutional? At least the Hungarian President had the guts to declare Islam was inconsistent with their Constitution.

I dont. I do not find governments banning dangerous groups of,people engaged in a con scheme and abuse of,others to be scary at all.

Be it religious ones or secular ones.

What I find scary is some of,the people in government who take it upon themselves to determine what “dangerous” is, instead of the people telling them what we as a society determine is dangerous.

Is Scientology a religion where they’ll hunt you down and kill you if you want out?

Do a Google search for ex Scientologists. It is pretty scary.

Then governments should outlaw it.

I don't trust that the media are giving us the whole story.
Here's what's on the Internet, via a "google":

Critics in Germany accuse the Scientology sect of denying fundamental human rights. The organization insists that it's a religion. While it is not banned, Germany's domestic intelligence monitors the group.

Let in millions of Muslims, but for god’s sake keep out the Scientologists.

I’d hire some wigged out muslims to plant a few IEDs around. You know a couple in the law offices and a few in the churches. Something that would fit in with the normal headlines, nothing outrageous you know.

I think a lot of people simply don’t APPRECIATE the insights of Zorba.

(just kidding, but some of the postings here do bother me)
