Brothers and sisters, let's acknowledge reality: we are no longer on a slippery slope. We have already hit bottom and the edifices of the new order are already being erected there.
But do not fret - it is not the end ... far from it. The gospel can flourish in any and all environments. In fact, that "plant" we call the gospel does best in the harshest of conditions. I have seen it with my own eyes. I lived in a communist country for 10 years where atheism was the official religion and Christianity suppressed, yet, in the midst of it, I witnessed one of the greatest revivals in history. Remember Paul, when in prison, said, "I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God's word is not chained." (2 Tim 2:9) And after saying this the gospel spread wildly through the then known world for the next 300 years under great persecution, tribulation and hardships.
So do not view current events necessarily as evil things which make one lose hope. On the contrary view them as that which gives you hope and joy because you know it is carried out by the sovereign LORD, for the purposes of advancing His kingdom, though in ways out of the sight of man. God's power is made perfect in weakness (2 Cor 12:9) (read Psalm 2 & 37)

We’re a LONG way from bottom. But we’ve lost our grip on the ledge.
Thanks. I needed to hear this.
Well said.
Although we know the day of God’s wrath is coming, it does not have to be because we abdicated our responsibilities.
Spread His Word on fertile ground.
Now is the time when virtue will be battle_tested. It is the most worthy contest in this world. Corrupt mothers at the top are diseased branches high on the tree. They will inevitably fall, but the roots which gave them their strength remain strong.

I disagree with him here. I think we have a ways to go yet, and a variety of possible most pessimal end states.
“...we are no longer on a slippery slope. We have already hit bottom and the edifices of the new order are already being erected there.”
Imagine what he will think in 30 years or so.

The descent need not be ‘sloped’. A chasm looms: when the collapse hits, by design, the slope will be remembered as the ‘safer times’.
Yup
I was once a roommate with an Argentinian who’d be designated to be one of the desaparecidos. That person escaped but spoke of what happened in Argentina at the time.
Likewise, I grew up across the street from a couple WHO’D ESCAPED NAZI Germany.

We have not yet reached the point where we have an official one party state, dissidents disappearing, mass hunger (from failed meddling in ag production), an official enemy class (though I wouldn't be surprised if conservative Christians didn't end up as one), a Kristalnacht event, official speech and press restrictions, or a wall keeping us in.
A libertarian SF author I read, L. Neil Smith, remarked in the late '90s, low 2000s sometime (in either the late Clinton or early GWB era) that the first time he saw Hillary on TeeVee, he thought she "had the smell of the death camps about her." I'll have to find the reference. I hope he wasn't prescient.
Since our Lord Jesus began His Church we all KNOW that He will succeed and the great adversary, Satan, will live out his eternity in hell, that is, without God...alone, by his own choice.

The other grandparents of one set of my cousins, lived through the Weimar Republic inflation. I remember him (the grandfather) talking about it when I was a kid, (1970-ish).
