San Diego Bishop: Combat ‘Anti-Gay Prejudice’ in Catholic Community
Catholic Culture ^ | 6/16/16

In a statement issued after the Orlando shooting, Bishop Robert McElroy of San Diego called upon Catholics to “combat ever more vigorously the anti-gay prejudice which exists in our Catholic community and in our country.”

“The shootings in Orlando are a wound to our entire society, and this time the LGBT community has been specifically targeted and victimized,” he said. “We pray for the many victims in Orlando who were targeted for death simply because of their sexual orientation, and we grieve with their loving families and friends.”

“We pray for the Muslim community in our nation, who have acted in unanimity to deplore this act of violence and to reject hatred rooted in a distortion of Muslim faith,” the prelate added.

As always with McElroy, it's unclear whether "combat anti-gay prejudice" means "let's embrace homosexual 'marriage'" or whether he's simply urging respect for those with same-sex attraction disorder.

Yeah, where?

All they ever worry about is the “backlash” that never happens.

Here’s a thought: God’s word is right and our accepting tolerant culture is wrong....

The Catholic Church is being driven out of the Moslem Middle East, as it will be here in America when the Moslem population is large enough to do so.

If you want to make serious inroads on the prejudice against the LGBT community, start with convincing Muslims. Islam makes it a principle to eliminate homosexual love wherever it may be found.

Now, one must sort of split a hair here, as it is long suspected and sometimes substantiated, the homosexual acts performed upon prisoners and adolescent youths very much resemble similar acts by certain members of the LGBT community. But their objective is not to exchange pledges of love by physical means, it is a means to subdue and impose their will upon the victim, a form of asserting mastery. No love is involved. In fact, Muslim men perpetrate much the same assertion of mastery upon females, as ALL females are an inferior life form, and mostly not worthy of being loved. It is entirely possible one of these Noble Islamic Gentlemen may hold his horse, his camel, his flock of goats or even sheep in higher esteem than any wife or concubine he may be keeping in his household.

It’s up to a lowly FR poster to say what actually needs to be said:

WE PRAY FOR GOD’S MERCY ON THE SOULS OF THOSE MURDERED

This ‘priest’ has it backwards.

It’s the homosexuals (especially the ones at the New York Times) that want to exterminate or enslave Christians.

You don’t see any Christian judges ordering the arrest and imprisonment of gays for refusing to bake cakes or cut someones hair. The homosexuals are the ones who are persecuting Christians.

When Christians are slaughtered, you never see gays waving the Christian flag in support of Christians.

The is the typical liberal response: being a victim justifies your behavior.

McElroy was made a bishop by Bergoglio because McElroy wrote a famous article in AMERICA mag promoting Communion-for-Pelosi.

I.e., like Bergoglio, McElroy can’t snuggle enough with abortionists, trannies, sodomites, etc.

I hope so but so many of our young men and women are snowflakes or just plain cowards(I classify anyone under 50 as young.)

It's the SAME ole Catholic stuff:
Hate the sin; love the sinner.
Nothing's changed. Nothing will change. That's what the Catholic Church does best, not change core tenets.

BTW: you nailed it: same-sex attraction disorder.
One may have disordered attraction but one does NOT have to act on those disordered attractions.

Among all those who have mouthed off from the Vatican-2 clergy about this, I think it is because it all strikes too close to home for them.

In the last 750 years there have been only three GENUINE popes who were canonized GENUINE saints of the Roman Catholic Church, and this is the promulgation of one of them on what is to be done regarding clergy caught in the act of sodomy:

St. Pius V, Constitution Cum Primum, April 1, 1566, in Bullarium Romanum

But isn't this what our "lxrd, gxd, and savior," Donald Trump, wants us to do?

How about we just make sure only white homosexuals get to help run things???[/sarcasm]

Anti-queer prejudice is well earned since the queers infiltrated the priesthood to rape how many little boys. It’s the gay way.

The muslims and queers have an odd alliance to attack Christians and their traditions. Both have done incalculable damage to the country.

When Christians are slaughtered, you never see gays waving the Christian flag in support of Christians.

With homosexuality entering center stage in the discussions of the Synod presently going on at the Vatican, we bring to our readers some thoughts of St. Pius V on this matter in his Constitution Cum primum of April 1, 1566.

There was no "screening" process a priori?

Even up up to before Vatican-2. I think it was assumed that that was not a specific problem per se to be specifically screened but that it would fall under the general spiritual, moral and intellectual and emotional screening.

One was not admitted to the seminary without a very very rigorous approval first from the candidate's pastor, other letters of recommendation, schooling etc. even before going before the seminary screening committee.

That does not mean to say that bad apples did not slip through on occasion, but they would be caught somewhere along the line.

The problem happens when one does slip through then gets promoted and then always tends to bring in other bad fruit as itself.

Bella Dodd, when she renounced Communism and returned to the Church, testified in the early 1950's before the U.S. House of Representatives Un-American Activities Committee that the group she headed, by itself, was responsible for infiltrating 1100 Communists into Roman Catholic seminaries in the United States in the 1930's alone. She said that by that time they had mostly all advanced in rank and were monsignors and bishops. The key positions they strive for are those of gatekeeper for admittance of new candidates to the clergy and the convent in order to bring BAD candidates in and even more importantly for their agenda, to keep good candidates out.

If Communists working for THEIR OWN puppet masters who hide behind the scenes, seek to destroy the Church, the surest way besides their own efforts is to totally overrun it with swarms of termites, the homosexuals.

In modern Vatican-2 practice, in almost all dioceses candidates to the seminary must go before some radical lesbian nun, no lie, at the diocesan headquarters and unless they at least 'tolerate' homosexuality and are in favor of women's ordination, despise anything traditional, HAVE NO PERSONAL PRAYER LIFE, and are at least socialist if not worse, they are ABSOLUTELY refused admittance.

Two good books written on this subject are by 'conservative' Novus ordo authors, "Goodbye Good Men" by Michael Rose and "The Rite of Sodomy" by Randy Engel. They will give you chapter and verse examples of EXACTLY what P have stated above.

St. Peter Damian, Doctor of the Church who died in 1072 was a great teacher and preacher in many areas, but is well known for his preaching against unchasteness and sodomy especially.

St. Alphonsus de Ligouri doctor of the Church quoting st. Peter Damian:

St. Alphonsus on the damnation of the impure: “Continue, O fool, says St. Peter Damian (speaking to the unchaste), continue to gratify the flesh; for the day will come in which thy impurities will become as pitch in thy entrails, to increase and aggravate the torments of the flame which will burn thee in Hell: 'The day will come, yea rather the night, when thy lust shall be turned into pitch, to feed in thy bowels the everlasting fire.” (Preparation for Death, abridged version, p. 117)
