One-In-Four New Children Murdered... 56 MILLION Per Year

A new study reveals that one-fourth of unborn children around the world are murdered - a staggering 56 million children per year.  The study reveals that the number is actually significantly higher than previously thought.

From the BBC:

One in four pregnancies ends in an abortion each year, global estimates from the World Health Organization and Guttmacher Institute suggest.

The report in the Lancet said 56m induced abortions take place annually - higher than previously thought.

Researchers acknowledge rates have improved in many rich countries but warn this masks no change in poorer areas over the past 15 years.

Experts are calling for new approaches to contraceptive services.

Scientists say the annual number of abortions worldwide increased from 50 million a year between 1990-1994 to 56 million a year between 2010-2014.

The rise in numbers is mostly seen in the developing world - driven in part by population growth and by a desire for smaller families.

This is what the Bible says about the time immediately before God judged the entire world the first time:

Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight and was full of violence. - Genesis 6:11

Consider that in the bloodiest war in all of human history, World War II, roughly 60 million were killed over a six year period.  We've now reached a point where approximately the same number of children are killed every single year.  That means over the same length of time some six times as many children are murdered as died in all of World War II.  Then factor in the 50+ wars that are currently underway, terrorism, and the murder of those already born.

Did the pre-Flood world have even this level of violence before judgment?  I seriously think not, which makes one wonder: if we've surpassed the level of corruption and violence that existed in Noah's day, how close are we to judgment?

The Bible describes two great worldwide judgments.  The first was by water (the Flood) and the second is by fire:

Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.  They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”  But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water.  By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.  By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. - 2 Peter 3:3-7

Considering how the signs have now reached a climactic moment and Jesus' return is imminent, I implore every reader who is not right with God to get right with Him now.

But it’s for the children.

This number is alarming. It’s not like the Lancet to get this sort of thing wrong - even demonstrating a pro-abortion slant all these years.

1/4 of children yearly is a STARK number. I mean, there must be a concerted effort somewhere on the planet to simply abort every child in a specific region of the world.

Because abortion here is rampant, but I can’t begin to imagine that 1 in 4 women that are walking the streets is even an approachable number.

Maybe 1 in 40 . And if this statistic is true, then somewhere is a whole nation (Or several) where women just get abortions.

Exactly what the environmentalist’s want. Who is the backbone of the Democrat party, the money funding the Democrat party? The environmentalists who stated they want this Earthly human population reduced by millions. They are accomplishing their goals, and most people don’t realize whom they are.

Your number is much too conservative, and doesn’t take into account that a significant percent of women have multiple abortions. Leftist organizations view abortion as their highest sacrament and work to force it into every culture and every level of society. Even counting the proper use of contraceptives, there is no way that any society could approach the birth rates of western nations without widespread abortion.

It’s either that, or the homosexual population is exponentially larger than even Hollywood portrays.

Can you imagine that 1 in 4 women you meet have had sex outside marriage? That's where most abortions come from.

It's incredible how few people "emotionally" associate abortion with fornication, but (in Europe and America) that's nearly the whole incidence.

That makes me physically ill. I am sick at the thought of abortion but had no idea there are so many murdered babies. In my family babies are a gift from God so I cannot imagine.

My middle daughter is having a baby in July and the whole family is so filled with love and just can’t wait. I had three children and have 6 grand children and each one is so precious and special. I just can’t wrap my head around how anyone could do this, support this. Oh no.

I don’t think I buy it either. But I don’t know.

Not to say there haven’t been places in the modern era where worse has happened locally. Russia had an abortion rate of 280 abortions per 100 live births in the early 90s, according to what I have seen. It didn’t get to 100 abortions per 100 live births until the mid 2000s, if I recall. In 2012 it was down to 42 per 100 live births. In 2003 US there were 24 per 100 live births, if I recall. I think for Russia they might actually had easier access to abortion than modern birth control, but that could be wrong.

If it is 1 in 4 than all those 3rd world countries must not be having as many kids as they always say they are. I don’t know.
