And as to Romans destroying the Temple, the Roman Empire stretched beyond the Tigris and those who sacked the Temple were not necessarily from Rome but included many who were conscripts of the Middle East (at least that's Richardson's thinking).
Furthermore, the A/C is referred to in Isaiah as the Assyrian, which also points in the Mahdi direction.
It didn't take away from the basic logic and soundness of his argument.

Some people will go to lengths to light candles, mumble over rosary beads in 'vain repetitions' that Jesus warned against in Matthew 6:7, display colorful cards of dead people on their car dash boards, and all other manner of ritual.

Both theories have their merits for sure.
I’m not 100% convinced of the Madhi theory though, and the reason for it is because the Gog/Magog Prophecy in Ezekiel 38/39 states that all of those Islamic worshipping nations will be destroyed in that war. Some say that war is prior to the Tribulation. Who knows?
We could very well be on the cusp of that war. And if it does happen the way the Lord says it will (and it will), then I’d bet most of the Islamic world would be questioning their “allah” and may even perhaps abandon it totally seeing that Israel didn’t even need to lift a finger to defeat and destroy her enemies.
Also, you have to remember that the A/C will not worship the “god of his fathers” (Daniel 11:37) and will exalt himself (clearly a violation of Islam).
If he is from the Islamic branch, he’ll quickly leave it soon after he takes control.

If he is a muslim, the "not worshiping the god of his fathers" may mean that he is a muslim convert. And as to the self-exaltation thing, Mohammed himself exalted himself as the "perfect man" so the Mahdi may even claim to be Mohammed reborn or have the indwelling of Allah/Satan. The latter would be consistent with Satan's desire to create a counterfeit Jesus.
As to being 100% certain of something, as I get older I am only 100% convinced of the Trinity.;-)

It’s a very interesting subject to read about. Richardson and Thomas Ice debated this very subject last year at some point and I have yet to listen to it.
Prophecy is a very difficult subject to study, and I’m not at all 100% certain I’m correctly on any of it either.
Main thing is to insure that a dying world knows who Jesus is and what they must do to obtain Eternal Salvation (John 6:29; Romans 10:9-10)
Tough to see when one is conformed to a Babylonian world. Just like Paul said in Romans 12.

The world, by faith, calls today Woden’s Day- after some false god. Out of ignorance.
Daniel 7:25 isn’t fiction... Times and laws have changed,and by golly, Rome the 4th beast and Kingdom in Daniel, has done it..
And the Creator and Redeemer has another name for today. And it commemorates His Creation where only He gets the glory.

The Bible says we wont know who the anti Christ is until after Christians have been removed from the earth (Rapture)

I think that the Antichrist will certainly say that and he will appear to start doing just that. That’s why he won’t be the Mahdi.
Anyone who thinks that what is fundamentally wrong with the world is that we call today “Wednesday” is a crank.
Times and laws have changed. Rome has done it. And it has caused people not to know what day it is to Him, which leads to not knowing when His Sabbath is. (Which isn’t Rome’s Saturday) and that is why Revelation 13 has the enemy causing people to break His Commandments.
And why the patience of the saints in Revelation is keeping the Commandments and faith. And what can be known about His Kingdom by keeping time like He taught Israel is a blessing.
It’s explains why Passover and Good Friday have nothing in common most years. Sometimes not even in the same months..
Passover, the 14th Day of the Father’s 1st month, isn’t just another day on His Calendar.
It is the 6th and final Work Day of His 2nd week. The Day before His 7th Day Sabbath. It is finished.even if it falls on a ‘Tiw’s day. He changes not. And neither has His Kingdom calendar.
Every month. Again, He changes not. But ‘times’ have.
People who call today Thor’s Day won’t see it. They have no idea what day it is on the Father’s calendar.
And they will never see the counterfeit that Good Friday isn’t His 6th day every week because of it..
Islam won’t, Judaism won’t, Christianity won’t- until they follow His calendar. They all follow Rome’s lead.
They could see how blind they have been. But until then,the blind lead the blind..
Remember the Sabbath is not an accident. It was going to be lost. And the enemy has done it..
And again, it ain’t ‘saturday’..Judaism would be shocked to learn that. They could learn it. It took one verse in the prophet ezekiel’s book.
Ezekiel 46:1- one verse..and everything one ever was taught goes poof..
One little future prophecy and yet it can mess with one’s world view- if they know what to ask Him. He will teach people how to tell time. And it explains all of what Israel was doing and what the Word Made Flesh, did..and what is to come.

Have a blessed 3rd Day, the day commemorating Him gathering the water together and calling them Seas. And having the dry land appear and calling it earth. And Him bringing forth vegetation, plants and trees.

Ps- if today, according to His Word, and His Creation, is His 3rd Day, it makes the pope’s goddess Frigg Day coming up (holy to islam) His 4th day, Saturnsday( holy to Judaism) His 5th day, and Sunsday(Holy to Christianity) His 6th day- all work days.. None Holy. Until we get to the pope’s Moon Day,which is the Father’s 7th Day Sabbath for the next couple weeks.
so, most people will return to ‘work’ when the Father says to rest and worship on His 7th Day -
(it will be His 22nd Day of His 11th month- a day every month that also can commemorate the 1st Sabbath for Israel in the wilderness that occurred on the 22nd day of His 2nd month- one just has to count)
You can’t make it up! Lots of babel and confusion yet those who live in it, see it as orderly and ‘biblical’.

And one can’t see it conformed to the world.
Changing times and laws is not insignificant.. It has allowed the enemy to steal worship.
Which is what the battle is in Revelation...

Be not conformed to world but be transformed by the renewing of one’s mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect..
Daniel and Revelation occurs today and nobody sees it. They won’t when they let the beasts tell them what days to work and what days to worship..
I am happy to be different. He led me out and I didn’t understand it at first- but it explains religion and the world we live in perfectly. And it exposes the counterfeits. And Satan is a counterfeiter.
The father of lies tells the world what day it is. And the world believes him..
His Word and His Creation has the Truth.but people will love and make lies all the while not knowing they are lies..
