The Bible clearly says that while God does want all to be saved, not all will decide to believe in Him, and therefore their names will not be written in the Book of the Lamb/Life. We can pray for these people all we want, and it won’t make any difference if they don’t believe. “Many are call, but few are chosen.”

Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

I think if reporters knew anything at all about religion, the headline would have read “AME minister”, not “Methodist minister.”

True. Mary and Joseph did not expect a pregnancy soon after their marriage. Mary was prepared by St. Gabriel who politely suggested she accept the role as Mother of God. She said, “yes.” Joseph was prepared by another angel who kindly visited him and encouraged him to stop being grouchy. He said, “Well, ok then.”

Until their death or His coming, we cannot assume that any one person will perish, nor should we wish for it.

I can’t begin to express the anger I feel towards everything this heretic is doing against God, but He says He wants her repentance, and I would be afraid of wanting what God doesn’t.

At least we can hate evil and love the good.

When I read this I was reminded of Alec Guiness's character in Bridge on the River Kwai, who finally realizes at last, to his horror, how harmful and counterproductive his strenuous efforts have really been. And then Paul came to mind, who was equally nefarious until finally Jesus stopped him and turned him around. And then I myself came to mind...

All of us were on the wrong road for a time and owe our course-reversal to God's intervention, sooner or later. We don't know her eventual outcome, but we do know Him Who loves her despite her actions and Who has produced innumerable turnarounds and still has a few more left in Him before the end.

I was amazed when I finally realized that God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. I’d never thought twice about saying, “Go to hell.” Now, I realize how utterly cruel and insidious it is. I believe most people who say it and mean it are in danger of heading there themselves, unless they repent and accept Christ’s forgiveness.

Well, yes, except:

"I believe most all people who say it and mean it are in danger of heading there themselves, unless they repent and accept Christ's forgiveness."

God takes no pleasure in it, as you rightly wrote, and His mercy is infinite, but His justice is absolute.

If you haven't yet read C.S. Lewis's The Great Divorce, you're in for quite an intellectual and spiritual treat. Treat yourself for Christmas.

Hehheh, I was trying to soften the blow. Thanks for mentioning the book.
