This guy’s not my leader in any sense. And, according to Title 8 of the US Code, there already IS a “religious test” for supposed refugees. Where’s this douche bag’s “compassion” when it comes to the massacre of Chaldean, Coptic, Orthodox, Maronite and other Christian sects in the Middle East and Obama’s complete disregard of their plight?
Proof that the SBC has been infiltrated. I’ve been thinking it has been for years honestly.
Your 5th column comparison isn’t crazy. I’ve had that thought myself.
He has adopted children from Russia, so he might just take some if asked.
Maybe you don’t understand where I’m coming from. I agree with you and totally disagree with Russell Moore—as I often do. If you went through all of my comments on this website you would almost certainly find some where I have criticized the man. His positions and public statements often irritate me. Frankly I don’t think the ERLC should even exist. It’s often out of step with average Southern Baptists. And Baptists by definition are independent and have no leaders, so we don’t know leaders speaking on our behalf, certainly not a man who worked for a Democratic congressman or one who plays footsie with the Vatican.
Where I disagreed with you, and what I called unhinged, was the suggestion he was compromised or somehow benefitting financially. If you knew Russell you would know that’s just not the case and I think it’s irresponsible to make accusations like that without actual evidence. Even though I disagree with him often, I believe he has integrity. However, he’s a little like Huckabee, he sometimes conflates the proper governmental response to a situation with the responsibility of individual Christians. Believers are to love their enemies, while the biblical role of the state is to protect and defend, not love.
At this point with the world the way it is and Christians being called all sorts of vile things by just holding onto the Word of God, wouldn’t surprise me one bit if there are many 5th columnists among the SBC.
Russell Moore is very critical of conservative Christians, and that should raise all sorts of eyebrows and antennas within the Church.
