Visit of Cardinal Burke [Catholic Caucus]
LMS Chairman ^ | November 16, 2015 | Joseph Shaw

We had a wonderful weekend with Cardinal Burke. I don't have time to blog about it now, and I won't have time tomorrow, but I will do so thereafter.

As well as liturgies and public speaking, His Eminence granted an interview with Mass of Ages, the LMS Magazine. As a tiny taster, when asked what Catholics should do when confronted with bad teaching, he said:

I think Catholics should simply say that "I cannot accept this teaching as it goes against what the Church has always taught and practiced." I don't think that Catholics should permit themselves to be driven away from the Church by those who are not upholding the Church's teaching.

I have been waiting for leadership from Cardinal Burke. I trust him with devotion to the Church.

Speaking and doing are two different things. I suppose we wait until the pope shows his hand in his formal response to the synod, be it in writing or speaking. Talking has seemed to do little to turn the tide for the faithful.

God has willed a hard time, for His own purposes, and for our purification, I pray.

He certainly is one I look to for guidance in these dark days for the Church. Archbishop Schneider is another.

The faithful will never leave the Church. The Church at the top appears to be leaving Holy Mother Church, and they occupy the seat of Peter.

Many are hanging on by their finger nails even before the Synod. On a local level, in towns suffering years now, with vandalized Mass celebrations and with no where to go, something must be done, not said.

Christ Jesus would sit through none of this.

What to do when the Blessed Sacrament is presented to re-marrieds without annulments and living not as brother and sister?

The devout faithful will not stand for witnessing that scandal, an open and public abuse of their Lord in the Holy Eucharist.

I need to know where we’re headed. Catholics deserve to know. The devout will not attend such a desecration, at least I won’t.

This means many will fall out of attending such a Mass, and have to travel to the Traditional Masses, (thank God), wherever they are, and no longer attend local Catholic parishes. The Church is going Episcopal on us and it is right before our eyes. It seems just not to have been yet announced.

The Traditional priests will RESIST and refuse to comply with the Vatican test of wills. They are who I am waiting on.

The faithful must not leave the Church and if they are faithful, it will not be a consideration. They will go underground TLM.

Prayers up for Mother Church. Bad shepherds come and go, but the Church will prevail.
