Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord God; this is the day whereof I have spoken. And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years: (Ezekiel 39:8-9)

At long last the Day of the Lord comes near, the long dreaded and anticipated “Cloudy and rainy Day”, the Day of gloom and deep darkness, the time of Jacob’s trouble, also known as “Great Tribulation such as the world has never seen before, nor will it ever see again”.

God has intervened and saved His people. He has remembered His lovingkindness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel! Weeping endured for the night, but in the morning….Joy!

Jacob has come through the night, clinging to His God.

Gog and his coalition are destroyed in the mountains of Israel. All but a sixth of the mighty army are killed.

The nations attack the Holy people, but the very weather wars against them, rendering their computerized calvary(Tanks,APCs etc) useless. Hail falls upon them, and fire and brimstone. Pestilence breaks out among them, and as in olden times, the factions of the invading army, in their confusion, fall upon each other.

This is the fury of the LORD.

And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the Lord shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.(Zechariah 14:12-13)

Zechariah adds that one of the horrors that shall befall the invading army, will be the melting away in an instant of the flesh, eyes and tongues, before they even fall over dead. This is similar to something that happens in a Nuclear detonation.

So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord God. And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog.(Ezekiel 36:10-11)

Ezekiel predicts that the weapons, armor and shields of the invading army will be plundered and used for fuel in Israel. There will be chemical weapons, missiles, tanks Jeeps and Armored Personnel carriers, littering the mountains of Israel. The Prophet Ezekiel reveals that Israel will be able to convert these implements of war, into a fuel source.

And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land. Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord God. And they shall sever out men of continual employment, passing through the land to bury with the passengers those that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search. And the passengers that pass through the land, when any seeth a man’s bone, then shall he set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamongog. And also the name of the city shall be Hamonah. Thus shall they cleanse the land.(Ezekiel 36:12-16)

It will take seven months to bury the dead, and the description of the burial details seems modern and almost Nuclear to me.(I am not saying Nuclear will be used, I don’t know).

After seven months, special groups of people will be employed and trained to search through the land for any remaining dead,or any body parts, or bone fragments. They will mark the place where they found the remains with a sign(To warn people?), and remove the remains to a mss burial site, which happens to be downwind, in a valley east of the Dead Sea,Hamon Gog, or “Multitude of Gog”.

The God of the Bible has a two-fold concern, 1) His vindication before the eyes of the whole world. 2) His vindication in the eyes of His chosen people. Echoing David’s proclamation to Goliath;

This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hands.( I Samuel 17:46-47)

That All of the World May Know…That there really is a God in Israel, and that all of his dealings with her are just and true, merciful and Holy, and that HE is a Holy God who saves sinners!

And that all of this Assembly(Gods people) may know…Oh that the people of God would ever know, that the LORD needs not flesh to save…and that all battles are the LORD”S who is blessed forevermore!

And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword. According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them. Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name; After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid. When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations; Then shall they know that I am the Lord their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there. Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord God.(Ezekiel 39:23-29)

No U.S. of A in evidence, except for the residual support of Israel.

All but a sixth of the mighty army are killed.

Do you have a scriptural reference for this statement? Seems that Ezekiel implies total annihilation.

Read Ezekiel Chapters 38 & 39 carefully. - Just one-sixth of
the armies are left. Not total annihilation, but almost.

I guess I’ll have to check other translations because I don’t see any reference to survivors in those 2 chapters nor in Revelation.

there is absolutely no one that can predict when this Bible prophecy occurs. It could be 100s of years from now. This kind of stuff is what gives Christians a bad name.

“And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles [Sukkot].”

But it will happen. And I suspect soon as Gog is stirring and it appears the hook in the jaw has been set with the agreements with Iran and Iraq.....

Just as deleterious to Christians are those who pooh pooh any soon fulfillment of Bible prophecy - they act as if they never expect the events to occur.

Personally I am looking up as commanded. Our salvation draweth nigh.

I pooh pooh the notion that anyone can with any degree of certainty predict when a prophecy will be fulfilled

EZE 37:12 “Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.”

This is the scripture that predicted Israel becoming a nation again, which happened in 1948. No one would ever have predicted this scripture being fulfilled, immediately following a horrendous, holocaust that had killed so many Jews. Leaving those that remained actually being physically weak.

No one selling “Israel will rise as a nation shortly” books.

Who would have known Israel would come out of Egypt after 400 years of captivity. Prophesy is God saying “what” will happen, but not “when”

I use the KJV. - I just went back & got my Bible; but
couldn’t find the passage I’m looking for. Perhaps there’s
none of them left; but I was sure I’d read there was
one-sixth of them left to tell the story of what became
of their armies. - It’s still beyond comprehension. Blood
up as high as horses’ bridles for miles & miles!

Here we go sister Huldah-

Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

2 And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:

It is not a prediction of when but an awareness of what will be. Many have gone through great tribulation, and are at this moment. However, pray it does not occur on the Sabbath or in the winter for that is the GREAT Tribulation.

If Christians of all eras had not needed to know about being targets, then the Revelation would not have been given then but would have been later. It is relevant to all. Denying the possibility of dying for your faith is always naive. Remember Columbine.

As for today’s relevancy, child sacrifice is world wide. It is a great abomination. Only 6 nations do not allow it any time. How many innocent deaths is the righteous omniscient, all caring Creator witnessing every day, 24/7 as the earth spins from light into dark. He cannot let it continue and the only reason for what we view as delay is because the world has to hear of Him so those whose names are written in the Book of Life come to know Him.

The fields are ripe. Are we sending missionaries to our cities? Are we sharing His love and sacrifice, His call to His sheep through every means?

Ah, it is only in the KJVs that 1/6th was used. If this is an end time or last day, I do not think anyone with the mark will live.

No one who denies Jesus is the Messiah, sent by His Father can be considered “God’s people”.
In fact, Jesus said they would die in their sin.
I dare say 99% of residents of the country called Israel reject Jesus as Messiah.
But some people love the fantasy.

True most of Israel at the moment do not consider Jesus the Messiah. But let’s have compassion on present day Israel.

Israel was chosen as the nation that the Messiah was to come through. That was a blessing and a curse for them. They crucified Him for all our sakes, without his crucifiction and resurrection none of us could be redeemed.

The Jewish people have paid dearly and horribly for that crucifiction that was to bless all. God has fulfilled his prophesy to them of restoring them to their homeland. And the scripture from Genesis still holds true...

“Gen 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

We should be praying that the Lord open their hearts as He has ours’ and their “fantasy” of salvation becomes a reality.
