Fair enough. I did not know that. It appeared from the OP that this was the expected Orthodox practice.

In my GOA parish, almost all of the “regulars” go to communion at least 3 times a month on Sundays. In Greece, however, I’ve seen Sundays where only 2 or 3 people go to communion out of a whole congregation. On the other hand, Greeks don’t go to Liturgy with the regularity we do here so there aren’t that many people in church to begin with. In my maternal village for example, there are 260 people, give or take. On any regular Sunday there will be 11 old ladies, 7 old men, the priest, his grandson and my family (when we are there). On the other hand, the day to day Orthopraxis of the people is extraordinary. They pray multiple times a day before their icon corners and otherwise and are forever visiting monasteries and shrines.
