"Hans Joachim "John" Schellnhuber is the founding Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and Chair of the German Advisory Council on Global Change."

Sounds like a Climate Nazi.

this guy Schnellnhuber is hardcore. Thinks 5 billion humans need to die so the earth can survive. He’s a total Marxist psycho. And he has the pope’s ear. Why?
As a Catholic, I dont understand why at all.

The Pope didn’t actually get it wrong with Galileo. Galileo was a friend of his, and they were on good terms. When Galileo said he was going to publish his book, the Pope said fine, but just be sure to present it as a theory, not as an established fact.

When the book came out, Galileo, however, said that it was a fact. If you actually look into it, his arguments made no scientific sense. They were based on the lunar tidal cycle. Real scientists point out that he failed to PROVE that the earth goes around the sun. Real proof did not come out for another century or so.

And the Pope didn’t jail or burn Galileo. He just put him under comfortable house arrest, to protect him from those who might accuse him of heresy. And that wouldn’t have happened if Galileo had merely speculated that the earth goes around the sun.

The pope appears to be trying to unite all religions.

For me, as part of the great unwashed, he got it wrong. Because he meddled in physics, not theology. And even got the physics wrong, in the end.

As a cradle Catholic with a great respect for what parts of the Church does in health and education, I see the real problems not being addressed (and you know what I mean) while pronouncements about climate change are heralded.

He has a job to do. He might try to do it.

Just as the Bible predicts, the work wonders after the beast.

For those here, who are Catholic, this isn’t traditional RC anymore. We are rapidly approaching the time when you are going to be making a choice between staying Catholic and going with the world or staying faithful and leaving the church. This goes for us all.

That guy looks so much like a James Bond villain.

Probably gay, to boot.

I for one will follow my Lord and Savior Christ. If the Church continues on this path, they clearly don’t, so BYE.

My creep-o-meter spikes about a 17 (out of 10) with this thing. My hunch is “gay” is the least of his perversions.

I've been giving this some thought.

I remember seeing, many years ago, a documentary about the "collapse of the Church of Rome" prophecy, which was to occur in the 21st Century.

At the time, I scoffed.

How on EARTH could the church collapse?

It's been around for 2000 years!

With THIS Pope, I take nothing for granted.

I have no idea why he's seemingly ALWAYS "mistranslated" or, he's "lightening up on Catholic Dogma".

People who hate the Catholic church celebrate this man.

When I see the Pope saying NOTHING on the Irish vote for same-sex "marriage", I become more puzzled.

When I see the very same Pope apparently spending who knows how much time on a ridiculous, political issue like "global warming", I become even more suspicious.

I'm frankly kind of scared by this guy.

As in, who is he, really?

I've always thought no matter what the world may think, the Church should be the touchstone of faith.

You may not LIKE what he says about homosexuality or divorce, but those are the rules.

You are free to select another church, but here's what the Catholic church believes.

Full stop.
