Is there a story in the old testament of pentecost that links to the new testament pentecost?
The only one I find is Moses coming down the mount with the tablets of the covenant and 3,000 men killed that day (exodus 32) which would parallel the 3,000 souls saved in Acts 2.
But the math doesn’t add up.
Israel hadnt reached Sinai until the 15th or 16th day of the 3rd month (exodus 19) and that would be 60 days from the first Passover before they heard the law with their ears, and another 40 days after the 60, while Moses was up on the mount before they received the tables of the covenant and 3000 men killed on the feast that Aaron declared.
The exodus records manna after 30 days, the hearing of the law after 60 days, and the receiving of the tablets of the covenant written with His finger after 100 days from that first Passover.
30/60/100... Something the Savior mentioned in His parable of the sower..
If we follow exodus, manna was given 30 days after passover, on the 16th day of 2nd month.
Israel arrived at the mount on the 15th or 16th day of the 3rd month. So, at least 60 days after Passover, Israel heard the law thundered from the mount.
Moses goes up the mount for 40 days and comes down on the day Aaron declared a chat/feast.
That is over 100 days.. Not 50..
30- manna
60- hearing of law
100- given law written by His finger..
Is that missed by Christianity because it is missed by Judaism?
What feast were they assembled in Jerusalem for? Because the only one I see is the one that occurred in the old testament wasn’t 50 days after Passover..
And maybe people would re-read Leviticus 23 and see it in a slightly different view when counting sabbaths and numbering days .. If those are two different counts,it makes Moses and the 3000 killed on that feast day mesh with Act 2 feast/chag and 3000 souls saved.
That would require new understanding and Judaism and Christianity are set in their way and maybe unable to see the math problem..
Except for lengthy discussions in the Talmud and in the writings of many other classical Jewish commentators...
Maybe that is their problem.
Because exodus seems clear and with Aaron’s declaration of a chag on the 39th day from Moses on the mount, it seems that Christianity could teach something to Judaism if it is the exact same occurence in Acts 2 of the New Testament..
A little too much Talmud is why Judaism allows Rome to tell them what today is..
As opposed to the calendar in the law and the prophets that tell us , by simple count, it is His 4th work day ..
That too would mess with Judaism and christianity but Daniel the prophet said Rome would be a vessel to change times and laws(Daniel 7) so it should not shock us when we see it.
A believer in ‘Scripture only’ might have said Shavuot is a harvest festival not connected to the giving of the Torah on Sinai.

Pentecost is known among Jews as Shavuot, the Festival of Weeks. It takes place seven weeks after the first day of passover. (Deuteronomy 16:9) (Note the Jewish counting, that seven weeks is 50 days! When they count days, they count inclusively; this is why “3 days” after Friday is only Sunday. Likewise, 50 days after Sabbath is still a Sabbath, even though people in the West would count that as only 49 days.)
Shavuot was the day of the first fruits (Numbers 28:26), the Festival of Reaping (Exodus 28:26). It is further described in Exodus 34:22.
But what does Pentecost have to do with Shavuot, other than it happened on that day? Remember when Jesus tells the apostles they will reap whey did not sow? How Paul says “Unless a grain of wheat falls to the Earth and dies, it remains but a single grain?” How Revelations and Jesus spoke of the saints as the firstfruits of the Harvest? Jesus is the bread from Heaven, and he was planted in the Earth on Passover. Shavuot was the Festival of the Harvest. Pentecost, then, is the day when that sacrifice came to fruition, when the disciples reaped what Jesus’ blood sowed, when the firstfruits were harvested.
(Tangent: Yes, since the very first days of Christianity, Christians celebrated Pentecost as 50 days past Easter! Therefore, even though they remember Good Friday/Holy Thursday as the day Jesus commemorated Passover, they celebrate Easter as the new Passover! This was the very first battle among pure-Bible Christians and ecclesiastical Christians, the Quartodeciminism controversy: in the third century, bible-only Christians began to question the church practice of celebrating Easter on a Sunday, instead of on the third day after Passover. By their logic, they should also have wanted to move Pentecost to 47 days after Easter, since the Bible reports that the events of Acts 2 happened on Sahvuot, not 49 days after Easter. So why did Christians move Pentecost to follow Easter by 49 days? Because Pentecost was seven weeks after the holiest day of the Hebrew calendar. But Easter had supplanted the Hebrew Passover. In fact, the Catholic Church — outside of English-speaking lands — the name for Easter is from the word, “Passover.” Even in English-speaking lands, “paschal” is the adjective form of “Easter.”)
Incidentally, I just realized that this is one of the rare years that Shavuot and the Christian Pentecost occur on the same day: May 24.
Does anyone know why Shavuot is now celebrated over two days? (Technically, it starts on the evening of May 23 and lasts until the evening of May 25.) Was it always celebrated over two days? (If so, that’s really wild, because it solves the connundrum I mentioned about Pentecost being celebrated 50 days after Easter, instead of 50 days after Passover; if the first Pentecost started on 50 days after Good Friday, the events of Acts 2 could actually have happened on a Sunday.)
The beauty of the Father’s calendar and scripture is He directed the steps of Israel to follow the agricultural harvests before they ever planted one crop in the promised land.
And then had His Son’s major life events occur on either a new moon day, Sabbath or Feasts He taught Israel.. but that takes rejection of Rome’s calendar to see it..
That too is lost with things like Rome’s December 25 and their good Friday vs. The real day the Lamb laid His life down, Passover..
Each of those New Moons, Sabbaths and Feasts point back to Moses and Israel and forward to Yahshua and the Kingdom. And Judaism wont see it until christianity sees it..
Because they are both blinded by Rome’ counterfeits..
According to Torah, exodus 19, they arrived at Sinai either on the 15th or 16th day of the 3rd month( because it is written that the same day Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, they came to Sinai..
And the question is what day did they leave Egypt?
Exodus 12:51 says the ‘same day’Yah brought Israel out of the land of Egypt.
That ‘day’ was the 15th day of the 1st month (or some scholars say the 16th)
Either way,that is a full 60 days by simple count before they even arrived at Sinai..
Add in that day plus two more and that is when they heard the law thundered from Sinai..
More than 10 days later than Judaism and Christianity observe it..
The math doesnt add up with Judaism or Christianity’s version..
Nope! Every Jewish holiday is celebrated on two days, to prevent disagreement on which day they should be celebrated. Some Jews felt that you should start counting a day as in Genesis, where God works for a day, evening comes and morning follows, thus from morning to morning. Most followed the evening-to-evening definition now so much associated with Jewish observances. Thus, there were two observances of passover: on Thursday AND on Friday! This is fully in synch with the fact that Jesus celebrated Passover on Thursday night, but was the passover offering on Friday afternoon!
(I’ve read many Christians on this forum argue that either the death of Jesus was on a Thursday or the Resurrection was on a Monday.)
Passover on our Heavenly Father’s calendar is the 6th and final work day of our Father’s 2nd week (according to template He gave Ezekiel)
That means the 14th day as Passover always is follows by the weekly Sabbath (7th day) on the 15th.
And the 16th day of our Father’s calendar is the day after the weekly Sabbath (also known as the 1st day of the week)
Passover(14th) landing on a Monday like it did in 2014 doesn’t change the template.
The 7th day Sabbath should have been the Tuesday and Wednesday was First Fruits an the 1st day of week- resurrection day..
But Rome’s calendar has counterfeited our Father’s calendar by ignoring one day every month- the New moon day.
Which according to Ezekiel 46, is not the sabbath or one or the 6 work days.
Rome has no answer for that.
Scripture says times and laws would change. And Rome would do it .
Because of new moon days, not part of our Father’s 6 work days, there is never 50 days after 7 Sabbaths. There will always be a couple more because new moon days are not part of His 6 work + Sabbath..
On our Father’s calendar the 7th Sabbath will fall on pope Gregory Tuesday coming up..
Then a number of 50 days after the 7th Sabbath and Shavuot/weeks Pentecost lands on the 29th day of His 4th month, more than 100 days after Passover.. A summer harvest timewhere grapes would be ready for new wine.
Which is what Acts 2 alludes to when they were accused of being full of new wine..
Maybe for Christians, but Jews have a different reason.
Two-day holidays are because of the original necessity to establish the new moon by witnesses to the Sanhedrin and then spreading the news by messenger.
1. Catholic hold that Jesus celebrated Passover with his disciples on Holy Thursday. In Catholic theology, that is the day that Christ was spiritually offered as the paschal victim, and spiritual things are more real to Catholics than earthly things. (I’d always heard of two passover dates, but until now I’d never known where the two dates came from.) So he was offered in Heavenly ways on the Heavenly passover, and offered in Earthly ways on Earthly passover.
2. December 25 comes from two sources:
A. If he was born on December 25, that means that he was conceived on March 25, which happened to be Passover. While the Catholic Church moves the date of Easter and Good Friday, it preserves the date of the first Passover as the Feast of the Annunciation.
B. December 25 is a translation into the Gregorian Calendar of the Hebrew Day of Nisan 25 (which typically is actually several days earlier). Nisan 25 was the day in which Spirit of God came to swell in the Holy Temple of Jerusalem, the Feast of the Dedication. When the Holy Temple was destroyed by the Romans, the Jews downplayed the Feast of the Dedication, and Martin Luther followed them in removing the Book of Maccabees from the Divine Word... which is odd since Jesus plainly observed the Feast of the Dedication, going to Jerusalem not once, not twice, but three times. In fact, that’s why we figure he preached for three years: the gospels recount him celebrating the Feast of the Dedication three times. And he did so to proclaim that He was the Holy Temple, the embodiment of God on Earth.
So yeah, Catholics find a great beauty in the life events of Christ following the Hebrew festivals.
The Savior’s birth sign is given in Revelation. Revelation 12 details a literal astronomical event.
The woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet occurred on September 26 in 2014.
That details the end of what scripture calls a New moon day. (Aka the first day of the month)
2000 years ago, because of the earth’s wobble and what science calls the precession of the equinox, that sign occurred in ‘summer’ .
And specifically the first day of His 6th month.
And the Father’s Calendar tells a story that proves the Word became Flesh with that simple sign in His sky.
That He was born on an appointed day, circumcised on a weekly Sabbath, dedicated in the temple 40 days after His birth(10th day of His 7th month-day of atonement)
Baptized on His 30th birthday, a new moon day.
Laid His life down as the Lamb on Passover, the 14th.
Laid in the tomb resting on the Sabbath (15th)unleavened bread
And raised as first fruits on the day after the Sabbath(16th- first day of 3rd week)
Days He taught Israel for a history lesson was also a prophetic shadow of their King and the Kingdom!
He is every New Moon Day, Sabbath and Feast. Each of His major life events occur red on one.

You’ll have to explain to me what you when you write “the woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet occurred on September 26 in 2014.” (Are you talking about astrology?)
You throw out these new-moon dates; what weak meaning they have compared to the dates of passover (conception of Christ), and the spirit of God dwelling in the temple (birth of Christ)? And that he was conceived on Earth on the same day he was conceived into Heaven?
Oh, and yes, during the Roman Warm Period, it would have been quite normal for shepherds to be in the fields with their flocks on 25 Kislev.
Now, I know some people like the notion that Jesus was born on 15 Tishrei (Sukkot), which is also a Festival of Booths. This is another day Jesus went to Jerusalem and revealed himself. That’s actually a fairly minor holiday, and it puts his conception on 5 Tivet... a nothing day. But if Christ was born on the Feast of the Dedication and conceived on Passover, that puts John born on the Feast of Sukkot, which also would reasonably forshadow John.
Not astrology, that is Satans counterfeit for Astronomy, which is the scientific study of His sun, moon, stars, planets, etc.
And it is an awesome study in Light of His Word, which became flesh.

There is a cluster of stars that looks like a person up there. The world called it Virgo, the virgin, but it is in English known as the woman.
That bunch of stars has the sun traveling through them in what scripture would call the 7th month today.
The month with atonement and Tabernacles, when Israel was commanded to congregate.
When that cluster of stars is representing the location of the sun for His 7th month Feasts, the 1st month Feasts have the sun moving through a cluster of stars known as Pisces to the world, but in English, it looks like 2 Fish.
So, today while Israel is observing Passover and Unleavened Bread, they are doing it under His sky during a time of ,2 Fish.
Which any new testament reader can see the biblical significance of an ‘age’ represented by ‘Fishers of men’ and the bride/virgin/church..
That is occurring in His sky that He ordains (psalm 8:3) while Israel was to be observing His Feasts this very time in history, almost like His Heaven is declaring His glory.. And telling a story..
Science tells us the earth wobbles and because of the wobble,there is a scientific phenomena called precession of the equinox.
In layman’s term, the sun and stars are not in the same position they where thousands of years ago in relation to where we would see them from earth.
The sun wasn’t always traveling through the 2 Fish at the time of Israel’s spring feasts.
There was a time that it traveled through Aries.
Now Aries means nothing in scripture, but in English it is described as a Ram.
The Ram does have biblical significance. Especially in the first month of His Feasts when a baby Ram was slain on the Feast of Passover.
When Israel observed their Passovers under that sky(ram/lamb), His Fall Feasts would have been observed under what looks like a scale sky a balance (cluster of more stars)
The Ram/lamb and the scale (balance- atoning for sin, leveling the scale)
That also has biblical significance, old testament significance.
His Creation is constantly moving and we won’t always have the same stars in the same places for His spring and Fall Feasts.
We are moving closer to a time when the world will see ‘Aquarius’ become the cluster of stars in the sky when His spring Feasts are held.
In English, they simply call Aquarius the Water Bearer’
And when the Water Bearer is that 1st month , the 7th month Feasts will occur under a sky with Leo as the star cluster. In English, Leo is the Lion.
Pouring out My Spirit (signified by water) and the return of the Lion of Judah?
does that too have biblical significance?!
All up there in His sky, set to His Feasts. A witness of His plan, at His Ordination. And Judaism and Christianity have little clue..
That ‘woman’ in the sky represents the 6th sign in order when the Ram is 1 and the scale is 7.
It is now in the 7th spot and the very thing that John detailed occurred on September 26.
The evening of September 25 2014, the moon was closer to the sun, representing a new moon( first visible crescent at sundown)
That would begin the Feast of Trumpets if Judaism didnt worry so much about Saturday conflicting with the Feasts(another story)
During the next ‘day(september 26 in 2014) the moon would travel down (or through) those stars and arrived at the cluster of stars representing the ‘feet’ in the evening.
A new moon day. A day detailed in scripture quite a but if you have a concordance. They were not work days nor the sabbath but shared elements of both days.
They probably could be considered close to an average American thanksgiving once a month (without the shopping and store openings)
They were set aside for congregating and feasting according to scripture.
That sign can be seen (and maybe more) simply by downloading an app that follows the sun,moon,stars,planets on your phone,computer tablet. Some are free.. I was amazed when I saw that ‘ sign’.. His Word says in Genesis 1:14 He made the sun , moon and stars for ‘signs’- should it shock us when we see them tied to His Word ?
Satan has done a masterful job of counterfeiting. And the wisemen’ in scripture knew the signs.
They are not more intelligent. They just knew when and where to look..
If revelation 12 details a birth sign, which I have no doubt it does, there are only two options - either He was born on the first day of the month of the 6th month (my theory) or the first day of the month of the 7th month, not Tishrei 15/
It is impossible for the moon to be at the feet of those stars and be on the opposite side of the sky, which is where we would see a full moon.
A little knowledge that He can give us if we ask,seek and knock, can go a long way to proving what is false doctrmine. ,teachings, even false gospels and false Christs..
Exposing traditions of men that seem to fly in the face of what His Word and His Creation is telling us..
Who knew He placed His plan in His sky before it ever was placed on parchment?
Satan understands that. That is why people think sun,moon,stars and say astrology..
Thankfully, we can use His Holy Word and those signs to tell the difference between Satan’s astrology and His astronomy.
A new moon day is the day of His birth, according to Scripture, confirmed by the sun,moon and stars in His sky. Found with a free downloaded app for a computer .. Amazing what technology can do!
And His bride need not guess. Nor His people be ignorant of the times or ‘age’ that is a witness to this world hung over our heads for any and all to see..
His heavens declare His Glory. And His plan. And it centers on His New Moon Days, His Sabbaths and His Feasts.
But I know I am different. Today is His 5th work day according to His signs.
The world calls it the sun’s day.
A holy day for Rome.
A work day on our Father’s calendar..
On pope Gregory Tuesday coming up, while the world works, His Word says to rest on His 7th Day.
Prophetic given Daniel 7 and revelation 13.

You do realize that what you describe is all actually Greco-Roman pagan astrology? Now, the stars in the Heavens can reveal the glory of God (Matthew 1, Romans 1, etc.), but the specific constellations to which you refer are based on pagan religion (Virgo, Leo, Pisces). I don’t even *necessarily* have a problem with the notion that God might have used pagan astrology to reveal Himself to the pagans... but to dismiss biblical/Hebraic sources in favor of pagan astrology? No thanks. We Catholics (believe it or not) stick to the bible for our theology, instead of gnosis such as pagan astrology. (That’s what “Catholic” meant: “universal,” referring to the universality of revelation, as opposed to hidden meanings in constellations, numerology, eschatology, etc.) Whereas we believe Revelation is also preserved in Divine Tradition such as the Liturgy, every doctrine is reflected as well in the Scripture. (While “Private” revelation such as at appearance of Christ or Mary are respected and honored, no Catholic is required to uphold any belief in any private revelation.)
