Why do you say that when it’s not true anymore?

Why do you say that when it’s not true anymore?hopingforsalvation

Hahahahahahaaaaa

Only from a catholic mind can it be acceptable to have a changeable religion that once offers bargain basement forgiveness, then rescinds it!

Forget about Jesus paying the price! It's the RCC that saves them! Satan smiles!

Be sure and light a candle (and support the local pauper cult!).

(BTW, how many candles are sold by the cult daily? How many plastic Mary statues? Satan smiles broadly as his plan is executed in the RCC cult!)

Could be legend but Schaff put it in his history book. The below shows just how far indulgences went prior to the Reformation. I mean you just can't make this stuff up...or can you:)

The description of Tetzel’s sale of indulgences and Luther’s protest are a part of the history of the Reformation. It remains, however, yet to be said, as belonging to the mediaeval period, that the grace of indulgences was popularly believed to extend to sins, not yet committed. Such a belief seems to have been encouraged by the pardon-preachers, although there is no documentary proof that any papal authorities made such a promise. In writing to the archbishop of Mainz, Oct. 31, 1517, Luther had declared that it was announced by the indulgence-hawkers that no sin was too great to be covered by the indulgence, nay, not even the sin of violating the Virgin, if such a thing had been possible. And late in life, 1541, the Reformer stated that the pardoner "also sold sins to be committed."1335 The story ran that a Saxon knight went to Tetzel and offered him 10 thaler for a sin he had in mind to commit. Tetzel replied that he had full power from the pope to grant such an indulgence, but that it was worth 80 thaler. The knight paid the amount, but some time later waylaid Tetzel and took all his indulgence-moneys from him. To Tetzel’s complaints the robber replied, that thereafter he must not be so quick in giving indulgence from sins, not yet committed.

The Catholic Church sure did.

Bernadine: …all gifts, all virtues, and all graces are dispensed by the hands of Mary to whomsoever, when, and as she pleases. O Lady, since thou art the dispenser of all graces, and since the grace of salvation can ONLY come through thy hands, OUR SALVATION DEPENDS ON THEE.

Bonaventure: …the gates of heaven will open to all who confide in the protection of Mary. Blessed are they who know thee, O Mother of God, for the knowledge of THEE is the high road to everlasting life, and the publication of thy virtues is the way of ETERNAL SALVATION . Give ear, O ye nations; and all you who desire heaven , serve, honor Mary, and certainly you will find ETERNAL LIFE.

Ephem: …devotion to the divine Mother…is the unlocking of the heavenly Jerusalem.

Blosius: To the, O Lady, are committed the KEYS and the treasures of the kingdom of Heaven.

Ambrose: …constantly pray ‘Open to us, O Mary, the gates of paradise, since thou hast its KEYS.

Fulgetius: …by Mary God descended from Heaven into the world, that by HER man might ascend from earth to Heaven.

Athanasius: …And, thou, O Lady, wast filled with grace, that thou mightiest be the way of our SALVATION and the means of ascent to the heavenly Kingdom.

Richard of Laurence: Mary, in fine, is the mistress of heaven; for there she commands as she wills, and ADMITS whom she wills.

Guerric: …he who serves Mary and for whom she intercedes, is as CERTAIN of heaven as if he were already there…and those who DO NOT serve Mary will NOT BE SAVED.

Anselm: It suffices, O Lady, that thou willest it, and our SALVATION is certain.

Antoninus: …souls protected by Mary, and on which she casts her eyes, are NECESSARILY JUSTIFIED AND SAVED.

Job 1: ... 6 One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them. 7 The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”

Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.” ...

The Catholic Church and those who follow it are going to pay dearly for those words.

Why do you say that when it’s not true anymore?

Why? It's called...

ready?

A joke

But, sadly, it was true, wasn't it. What a sorry, sorry piece of history for your cult.

The re-writing of history by the Catholic Church is an amazing thing to witness. I can’t imagine how intelligent people can fall for the ruse.

Give it up. The Catholic Church can't even prove that Linus was actually any type of leader in the church at Rome. Just a little study shows the singular head of the "church" the Catholic Church holds to today is re-written history.

"The word pope derives from Greek πάππας meaning "Father". In the early centuries of Christianity, this title was applied, especially in the east, to all bishops and other senior clergy, and later became reserved in the west to the Bishop of Rome, a reservation made official only in the 11th century. [O'Malley, John W. (2009). A History of the Popes. Government Institutes. p. xv. ISBN 9781580512275]

"From the 6th century, the title began to be used particularly of the Bishop of Rome, and in the late 11th century Pope Gregory VII issued a declaration that has been widely interpreted as stating this by then established Western convention." ["Pope", Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church, Oxford University Press, 2005, ISBN 978-0-19-280290-3]

Of course it's still true...You pay for your indulgences with loyalty and submission to your popes...

But hey, if your pope can lessen penalties in purgatory, why doesn't he out of the goodness of his heart free everyone in purgatory???

When Rome the Empire fell, the bishop of Rome stepped into the vacuum, and the rest, as they say, is "history." But to make this historical development one that was intended by Christ and implemented by the Apostles, is to read into history a reality that is not only absent, but is contrary to the actual facts.

Deserves repeating ...

The re-writing of history by the Catholic Church constitutes the bulk of their sacred tradition!

lol ... take a step back and think about that ...

Would it matter if he declared everyone free from purgatory ... lol?

That declaration ... and a ticket ... would get him a ride on the Metro.

No, they don’t like those, but I understand your point.

Also, keep in mind that people can enjoy theology, baseball games, and cigars without contradiction.
