And when I ever hear “The Foundation Of”......I just think of tax dodgers and political manipulators.
Those are just things I remember hearing over the years. Never read a book on Gandhi and wouldn’t want to. I was already tired of hearing about that pest in the ‘60s.
Im here on the ground with my nose in it since the whole thing began. Ive nurtured every sensation mans been inspired to have. I cared about what he wanted and I never judged him. Why? Because I never rejected him. In spite of all his imperfections, Im a fan of man! Im a humanist. Maybe the last humanist.Since Humanism by definition exalts humans before God, its not a good thing.
John Milton, The Devils Advocate
Don’t forget about Matthew 19:17/Mark 10:18/Luke 18:19.
Shouldn't we be more concerned with virtues that lead us to eternal life than earthly values?

Oh, please. There is nothing disagreeable about their messages and often they’re the only thing halfway uplifting one sees in the workaday world.
Secular humanism is the understanding of man devoid of God.
They are two very separate understandings.
It is unfair to lump it all into one "humanism."
The fruit of man's understanding of himself in relation to God gave us the concept of "We the People" and our Founder's understanding of human nature "and of Nature's God."
Milton wrote his understanding of the word before the refinement of definition.
Since this country has embraced the AniChrist nothing is the same anymore. There are groups with conservative sounding namespopping up all over the place that are really fronts for liberal and Muslim activism. You have to investigate and find out who their principals are and what they actually do now. They fool their own (liberals) into donating time and money into the “foundation” and get volunteers for free.
LOL
Nothing disagreeable? “Believe in yourself” is self-exaltation. Their definition of “family” is “a group consisting of a parent or parents and children living together”which is not specifically the traditional family and too loose of a definition. Their definition of character (which the Founding Fathers regarded as paramount) is too loose alsoones moral or ethical quality”.
Does the Foundation have any religious or political affiliation?Reminds me of the old saying, If you do not stand for something, you will fall for anything.
No. The Foundation for a Better Life is not affiliated with any religious or political viewpoint, either formally or informally. We do not endorse any particular political party or religion. We examine our messages rigorously to ensure we present values in intriguing, nonpartisan ways. Since inception, we have focused on our commonalities, not the beliefs that divide us. We believe anyone, from any background, can be caring, courageous, inspiring to others, or otherwise live the many values we are proud to share in our messages. Passing on respect and admiration for these kinds of positive values is our only agenda. We hope that the values we share transcend religious, political or cultural orientations.
Well, they are a 501(c)(3), and their messages are highly visible thanks to time donated by the liberal media. Given their newness (founded in 2000), it does raise eyebrows.
“I think he also liked to share a bed with young women t tempt himself?”
Yep. With several naked ones as I recall. A better choice than the urine drinking despite its reputation as a cure-all.
The social gospel was an early 20th century movement. The humanism of More and Erasmus is from the 1500s and isn’t the same thing.
In that case, the foundation being spoken of in here is quite separate from either More or Erasmus, especially when compared and contrasted.
Yep. More and Erasmus were serious Christians.
Whereas this foundation looks like what you get when you cross a Smiley Face with Miss Manners.
It’s a positive message. Some people need it. It will speak to some and not others.
Here’s my favorite of their short videos titled “Encouragement”:

If I had a bazillion dollars I’d do something like this also. It speaks a positive message to a broad range of people.
I think this is far better than watching a pharmaceutical commercial, but maybe it’s just me.
I agree with you
