Pray for our American Heroes

I love You fervently and devotedly, O Lord, my Strength. You are our Rock, our Fortress, and our Deliverer; our God, our keen and firm Strength in Whom we will trust and take refuge, our Shield, and the Horn of our salvation, our High Tower. We are here to call upon the Lord, Who is to be praised; so shall we be saved from our enemies.

Father, You are not a respecter of persons. As David called upon You to help him as a warrior, so we call upon You for every member of our Armed Forces, according to Psalm 18:

In my distress [when seemingly closed in] I called upon the Lord and cried to my God; He heard my voice out of His temple (heavenly dwelling place), and my cry came before Him. Reach from on high, take them; draw them out of many waters. Deliver them from strong enemy and from those who hate and abhor them. Be their stay and support.

By You, they can run through a troop, and by our God they can leap over a wall. For who is God except the Lord? Or who is the Rock save our God. Gird girds them with strength and makes their way perfect.

Make their feet like hinds’ feet [able to stand firmly or make progress on the dangerous heights of testing and trouble]; and set them securely upon high places. Teach their hands to war, and give them the shield of Your salvation. Give plenty of room for their steps under them, that their feet would not slip.

Cause them to pursue their enemies and overtake them. We will not turn again till they are consumed.

We give thanks and extol You, O Lord, among the nations, and sing praises to Your name. You give great deliverances and triumphs gives and You show mercy and steadfast love to His anointed, to David and his offspring forever.

Thank You in Jesus’ name. Amen.
