Here is a really good explanation of what is going on.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgVlbQp-IhQ&feature=player_embedded

It is far more serious than I had thought.

Homosexuals should be able to feely attend any church. They SHOULD NOT be allowed to be in any position that they can influence anyone a the church, however.
They openly practice sin and need divine intervention thru Christ alone. Church is a pretty good place to seek it.

The following 11-minute video report (made today) explains what is going on.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgVlbQp-IhQ&feature=player_embedded

It ties together MSM reporting, last year’s polling, the recent demotion of Cardinal Burke and even a little Vatican II.

The reporter seems credible. If he is right, then this is very serious. While I was correct to characterize the CNN report as part of the misinformation, I was incorrect to minimize its importance.

I don’t think that a wait-and-see attitude is correct anymore. Please see the video report and let me know if you agree.

There is a distinctly South American flavor to all of this.
What we, and everyone it seems, is reacting to are anonymous discussion items. Many are framed as questions.
If I were a cynic I would say that this is a clever media play to get a groundswell of popular support for radical reform. The bishops who would hold to Church doctrine have already been made into homophobic straw men. This feels to me like a South American populist uprising.
Wuerl disappoints me in particular, unlike Solomon, he would cut the baby just to make a point.

I agree with you that there are serious questions. The gradual demotion of Cardinal Burke is very disturbing. And so is the promotion of Cardinal Wuerl.

The Church has been going through a very bad time since Vatican II, and I hate to see a new Pope apparently ready to make things worse instead of better.

Ordinarily, each homosexual act is a mortal sin. Practicing homosexuals are welcome to come to Mass, but they are not welcome to receive Communion in a state of mortal sin—unless they go to confession and make a genuine effort to change their ways.

Regarding the referenced video, with all due respect to Pope Frances, he’s evidently not the Bible-based spiritual leader that he should be imo.

There fixed it.

We will do what you will not... wait, pray and see what actually comes from the Synod rather than CNN.

Memorized prayers or read from the missalettes?

The church won't be, but maybe the Catholic religion will.

Hey the great and powerful Oprah has spoken...she says that “The Gay lifestyle is a gift from God”

That`s why she attends Joel Osteen`s church, because he does not speak of sin etc, that`s the way the Catholic Church is going as well.

They not only want to "accept" it, but "VALUE their sexual orientation"....!!

I don't blame you for being angry. The language is vague and certainly appears to condone sodomy, at least to some degree.

The Church's position has always been straightforward. Homosexual acts are gravely disordered. A homosexual orientation, like an inclination to alcoholism, may mitigate moral culpability in some cases. And regardless, self-identifying homosexuals remain children of God in need of repentence and forgiveness.

The bishops are trying to formulate this doctrine in a way that can "speak to" contemporary homosexuals. Personally, I think the attempt is misguided in that it will only sow more confusion. That certainly seems to be the case already.

Sounds like homosexuals snuck into the Synod. I could see valuing their gifts as human beings DESPITE their sexual orientation. “Valuing” sounds like the opposite of what Jesus said.

It’s NOT a “CNN rumor”.

From the FULL REPORT (just below the article) at:

http://en.radiovaticana.va/news/2014/10/13/synod_on_family_midterm_report_presented,_2015_synod_announ/1108442

Read it and weep:

“Welcoming homosexual persons

Homosexuals have gifts and qualities to offer to the Christian community: are we capable of welcoming these people, guaranteeing to them a fraternal space in our communities? Often they wish to encounter a Church that offers them a welcoming home. Are our communities capable of providing that, accepting and valuing their sexual orientation, without compromising Catholic doctrine on the family and matrimony?

The question of homosexuality leads to a serious reflection on how to elaborate realistic paths of affective growth and human and evangelical maturity integrating the sexual dimension: it appears therefore as an important educative challenge. The Church furthermore affirms that unions between people of the same sex cannot be considered on the same footing as matrimony between man and woman. Nor is it acceptable that pressure be brought to bear on pastors or that international bodies make financial aid dependent on the introduction of regulations inspired by gender ideology.

Without denying the moral problems connected to homosexual unions it has to be noted that there are cases in which mutual aid to the point of sacrifice constitutes a precious support in the life of the partners. Furthermore, the Church pays special attention to the children who live with couples of the same sex, emphasizing that the needs and rights of the little ones must always be given priority.”

"There is no 'sexual orientation', only a 'sin orientation' and everybody has one. " - Steve Deace. Any church that "values" the sin orientation is apostate!

Romans 1:32
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
