One big difference between the Catholic Church and any of the various protestant faiths. Catholic Doctrine is based on the Word of God. Marriage is the union of one man and one woman. God does not make mistakes. The words of God do not change. The Catholic Church will never condone sodomite “marriage”. It comes from the Father of all lies. Satan.

just the Presbyterian Church (USA) denomination, not all Presbyterians.

you left out he "YET." Baptists, PCA,. various Lutherans, and a couple of Methodists. 3-5 years and it will the Catholics standing alone against this.

So you all are claiming to be Sola Scriptura now, are you?

No you don’t, saw it yesterday and it is a far cry from recognizing “pride” to sanctifying marriage.

Thanks for your prompt and informative answer.

As to the Westminster Presbyterians, they may be a local church just north of New Haven, Connecticut, in the town where I used to live rather than a national group. They were rock solid and quite public in their commitments on social issues and morality.

May Presbyterians find a way to create a firewall in one or more associations of Presbyterians thoroughly and faithfully committed to God's Word.

I also want you to know that I and my circle of friends and associates thoroughly agree with your last two paragraphs without reservation. As a nation, we are responsible for 55 million aborted babies (at least) since Herod Blackmun's decision of 1973. Then we moved on to allow just about gay everything including Heather Has Two Mommies and the like at P.S. 666. Now we witness our public officials cheerleading so called "gay""marriage" and forcing even churches to insure employees in such a way as to facilitate such abominations as abortion coverage. And THEN we ask God's blessings upon our increasingly barbarian culture and country. What we need, as you posted, is God's grace of repentance and conversion!

Again, may God bless you and yours!

One wack-a-doodle parish does not make doctrine for the rest of us.

I was attending an orthodox presbyterian church up till a year ago...

And then something amazing happened.. I was drawn away from even that church... and I was attending the pastor classes at the time towards membership and enjoying it all..

But right now, I don’t think any major protestant daughter is far enough away from the mother church...

And I wouldn’t have said that two years ago.. I didn’t study enough to even contemplate that statement...

But two years ago, I didn’t know His calendar and timekeeping and I didn’t know how different it is from the way the world tells time today-

But it is in scripture and found In each and every major event in our Messiah’s life - and one can really see, if His Spirit leads us, to boldly claim the Word did become flesh- and those special appointed times are perfectly fulfilled with His birth, circumcision, dedication, baptism, death, burial and resurrection...why would a believer not want to know those?

Church won’t teach it- they don’t see His calendar as important when they have their own that gives them what they want and allows them to have their own holy days like december 25 and easter...

And tomorrow, for instance, on the world’s calendar, is a work day (even for Jews who were given the calendar)- named for goddesses Freya/Friggs Day ( Friday) I never heard of...

But on His calendar, tomorrow is His seventh day Sabbath, the 22nd day of His 2nd month...no goddesses, no gods, no creations...just numbers...

And Sun’sday coming up is a ‘work day’ on His calendar, but for almost all of Christendom it is a sabbath...(and Jews and messiancs and SDAs miss it too for those who debate that Saturday/Sunday thing)

And the mother churches and almost all her daughters agree on that core issue- or at least accept the pope gregory calendar as the standard to find their sabbath, even though it wasn’t around with Moses or Messiah...and doesn’t use all He gave us to tell time...

And the world accepts it too.. the business world, political powers and the all the major religions- united....

and the god of this ‘world’ with the powers and principalities are our enemy- and anything that unites those should give any believer pause, I think..

We are told- Be not conformed to this world... or put another way, come out of her, my people...

How conformed does the church seem ( or maybe in the case of the mother church, leading) to the world on some basic premises like what day it is, what a work day is, what a sabbath day is, what a holy day is,what a year is, what a month is, etc?

Those are basics to how we think and what we do, on a daily basis.. that is pretty powerful and central to how all mankind live their lives..
And if they are counter to scripture, what are we following?

Dare we even say, what is upon on our foreheads and what are we doing witth our hands?

Ask, seek and knock for yourselves..no church will.. no pastor, preacher, minister, priest, pope, evangelist who likes the world’s system wants to rock the boat that much....

I am not comfortable being on any foundation the world considers solid..Truth will win..

I think the world is counterfeit...and if one never studies genuine, one never sees the phony...the churches are accepting some counterfeits and calling them truth and we go right along.

And is it any wonder we have so many denominations claiming ‘true church’ status can see some come up with ridiculous things like the PCUSA?

All Glory goes to Him for showing me the Genuine!

If the PCA makes a jump to withdraw from the world, that would be an impressive move that would only be brought about by His Spirit.. I Pray it happens in all churches...

But until then,

May He bless your journeys out of the world more than He has mine...

"That's right. It's the Presbyterian Church, USA ... which Wikipedia credits with 1,849,496 members."

Those numbers are vastly inflated as members who leave, die or just quit showing are never removed from the rolls. A recent survey showed that the number of members who regularly show up in church is about a third of that.
