The largest Presbyterian denomination in the U.S. will allow pastors to preside at gay weddings in states that recognize same-sex marriage.

The Presbyterian General Assembly voted 61 percent to 39 percent in favor of allowing ministers to decide whether to perform the ceremonies. Nineteen states and the District of Columbia recognize gay marriage.

Well isn’t that just so precious? I did not leave the Christian church; the church let me. Bye, bye sodomites.

As you may know, I am a Catholic and I am not trying to either generate or perpetuate any food fights with non-Catholic Christians. I recognize the truth that Alex Murphy has posted that this action of PCUSA is not reflective of all Presbyterians. North Mountain has provided a list of several Presbyterian groups, showing some substantial membership outside of PCUSA.

My question of each of you is which Presbyterian groups are still strongly supporting marriage of one man and one woman as provided in Scripture?

I would also add that there is no victory for anyone but Satan in this action of PCUSA. Each and every Christian of whatever denomination should be horrified by this action and all of us should pray for those in PCUSA whose faith has been betrayed by PCUSA leadership. To which Presbyterian group do each of you believe that PCUSA members of Scriptural loyalty and belief will go and why?

Finally, is there a group who identify as Westminster Profession Presbyterians, reportedly a very morally orthodox group?

May God bless both of you and yours.

Personally, I expect that individuals whose local PC-USA church goes wobbly will personally leave for the nearest doctrinally comfortable church, preferably Presbyterian in nature, that is still sane. I further expect that some whole local Presbyterian churches will attempt to change their affiliation. Probably to the PCA. It's large, and still sane.

MHO, FWIW.

The situation Dr. Thorne depicts above will not sit well with a whole lot of people. And yes, it is of demonic origin, and this development is not good. Not good at all.

God bless America?

YES!!! God bless America with the grace of repentance and conversion!

So now where will all the Presbyterians go?

Why only states that recognize ‘gay marriage?’

You'd think that if they believe God is okay with this, they should start performing such ceremonies everywhere - and do so despite any legal consequences or ramifications.

Oh snap, that's right: these guys are careful to go along with the flow of society - never leading, but always jumping on the theologically liberal bandwagons.

There are a few options; I can recommend the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). Uncompromisingly scriptural.

Perhaps less so. But they all made sure they cultivated and maintained links to the White House and wherever they spoke they had large posters of themselves plastered in stadiums etc. These are all non-profit ventures for amassing family wealth and security.

Successors to St. Peter following the traditions of the early Church and who believe in the Nicene Creed are no more cults than Christ Himself.

Exactly. ‘Sorry Fred and Dan, we believe it is theologically possible for you to marry, but we are in a state that doesn’t allow it, and they’re the ones who ultimately decide these sorts of things for us.’

Quote-I can recommend the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). Uncompromisingly scriptural

Except when they observing the pope’s calendar, pope’s sabbath day and pope’s holy days...

Other than those greco roman latin mother church scriptural counterfeits, they are uncompromisingly scriptural...

“Why only states that recognize ‘gay marriage?’ That doesn’t seem fair to their members in states that do not recognize ‘gay marriage.’”

Exactly. It’s because their god is not the God of the Holy Bible but is in fact the government instead.

Yes. Please come to the PCA(its my denomination). But please also leave all liberalism behind you. The PCA will only ordain men to the office of elder and all elders must affirm the inerrancy of Scripture.

Only 61 percent? I figured it would be much higher. Shouldn’t it officially be renamed the “Lesbyterian” Church.

Many are conditioned to think the state actually defines marriage. You have to wonder if there are any limits to what groups like these particular pseudo-Presbyterians will actually accept, as long as the state does too. I mean anything is possible, to the state it’s just whatever judges, pols or the voting majority think it can be at any one time.

That’s exactly how they think. The PCUSA is also trying to divest from Israel at the same General Assembly. Does that mean it’s now the religion for anti-semitic gays?

Heh. Yeah, they have that lock that coveted demographic up. Anti-Semitic homosexuals of the marrying sort have long been neglected.
