A step back.
They have been walking the ventilator settings down, but over night they had to turn it back up. Dani is “riding” the vent when she is sleeping, which means she is sleeping so sound she forgets to breath. She also had a bit of a high heart rate yesterday for a while after they suctioned out her lungs.
The plan is to do another ultrasound of the heart today, and maybe put her back on the nitric oxide. Not what I wanted to see, but not unexpected. The bad thing is this delays her coming back to the hospital closer to home, but the University of Iowa’s Children’s hospital is an excellent place.
Keep praying. They told us to expect two steps forward, one step back, and this is the first steps back we have seen.

They just did. Also, my wife just spiked a fever. See is trying to pump but it looks like she has an infection. Dani is fine, but my bride is now on antibiotics

Ask before you discard the milk. They will let you know if the drugs she is taking are OK to still provide the milk.

She’s doing fine if this is her first step back. Sounds like it didn’t last very long and she’s on her way again with all of us rooting for her and praying for her full recovery ASAP. Can’t wait til you post some photos of precious Dani.
