How Jesus is Being Denied ...

I am re-running an article I did two years ago, because the following story Evangelical Pastor Turns Pro-GAy illustrates my warning that there are many within evangelicalism who are not prepared to stand and bear witness to the Biblical teaching of marriage, in the face of the coming onslaught of propaganda and emotional bullying on the issue of ‘gay’ marriage. But of course He doesn’t do the decent thing and resign the church to follow his new convictions. Read the article and weep, as the ‘Pastor’ is applauded for seeking to bring the church into His new (Heretical) “compassion”.

(It has come to our attention that there is a new move within apostate Evangelicalism, called NALT,(Not All Like Them), in which false pastors team up with homosexual activists, to assure the ‘sodomite community’ that they are “Not all Like them”, that is like the faithful, confessing church which holds to the Christian position on marriage and sexuality. Thus they deny Christ to appeal to the enemies of Christ, at the expense of the Word of God and those willing to bear the reproach of Christ. The following is an article I wrote in February 2011 that bears repetition in view of this. There are many within the church who will not be able to resist the pressure to succumb to this denial of Christ. I pray this article arms and equips my brothers.)

Evangelical Pastor Affirms Homosexuals

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.(2 Timothy 3:1-5)

There is a frightening phenomenon that I have observed lately. I have been seeing the unhappy spectacle of young people, between their teens and early thirties, reared in the evangelical subculture, yet denying Christ.

They don’t consciously do it, I have no doubt that they don’t realise that they are denying the Saviour, but indeed they are, and in many cases with a vehemence!

The watershed for these young people is the acceptance and rejection of homosexuality.Through a distorted concept of the civil rights movement of the 1960′s , Homosexuals are now considered to be the new victims of oppression, and those who would in any way judge it as evil are now the new bigots.

In fact, we have come to the point in our post christian, paganized culture, where it is not even enough to ‘tolerate’ homosexuality, the pressure is on to become advocates of it, to champion it, and there is a new freedom for people, to hate and demean anyone who would dare call it into question.

The age group I mentioned at the beginning of the article, teens through early thirties are perhaps vulnerable for a number of reasons;

It is they who have been for the most part deliberately propagandized through our public schools, to develop ‘sensitivity’ to homosexual issues, and to question even their own sexuality, long before they have even entered puberty.

Anti bullying campaigns, and whole school days of self-imposed silence in solidarity with ‘Gay’ students have been invented by “gay activists” in order cast homosexuality into a kind of victim status, thus tapping into the natural sympathy and sense of fair play of the young.

Thus to this generation, interaction with and acceptance of homosexuals is an easy bona fide, a way to assert that ”I am compassionate, open minded, unprejudiced and much more loving than the traditional christian church”.

This is how they deny Christ. In the name of “being loving”, and “understanding” they repudiate the revelation of God given to us through Jewish Prophets and Christian apostles, without a second thought.

Our Christian sexual mores are not mere constructs of uptight pastors, priests or rabbis, they are a revelation from God!

“For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and shall cleave to his wife and they two shall be one flesh…and what God hath joined together, let no man put asunder”.

Man didn’t originate the above, that is God’s definition of marriage. Jesus cited it as being “from the beginning“, the original intent for marriage.

That revelation from heaven caused a moral earthquake in the ancient world, transforming paganism’s exhausted, debauched, rotting societies, offering a wholesome life affirming alternative. Here is how columnist Dennis Prager, who happens to be a practicing Jew describes it,

When Judaism demanded that all sexual activity be channeled into marriage, it changed the world. The Torah’s prohibition of non-marital sex quite simply made the creation of Western civilization possible. Societies that did not place boundaries around sexuality were stymied in their development. The subsequent dominance of the Western world can largely be attributed to the sexual revolution initiated by Judaism and later carried forward by Christianity.

This revolution consisted of forcing the sexual genie into the marital bottle. It ensured that sex no longer dominated society, heightened male-female love and sexuality (and thereby almost alone created the possibility of love and eroticism within marriage), and began the arduous task of elevating the status of women.

Judaism’s Sexual Revolution

But this generation dismisses that for the most part. For the cheap “holier than thou” feeling of compassion, sophistication and solidarity with an oppressed minority, ”christian” young people align themselves with the cause of homosexual marriage, at the expense of those who seek to proclaim the Word of God to this generation.

This is how they deny Jesus, and don’t even realise it.They repudiate his teaching on a very important subject, they side with a world in rebellion against God’s moral order. They don’t realise it in fact they actually believe they are being more merciful and Christlike than other christians.

Sides are being taken in this culmination of the cosmic struggle between Righteousness and unrighteousness, light and darkness, the truth and the Lie, and neutrality is impossible.

I think we need to reach our own young people because they don’t seem ready to stand for Jesus at the point where the world most resists Him.

They are confused about what Love is, but arrogantly believe they are more sophisticated and compassionate than the whole of the christian church through the centuries.

You’re forgiven. :)
You (and Prager) make excellent points, and I appreciate it. Never saw it this way, but it is so true. Thank you for the ‘enlightenment’!

I for one will be pointing this out and expanding on it for many moons to come. Thank you!

That really says it well. For a long time now, I've been baffled by Facebook posts where someone will declare their support for gay marriage and in their very next post, mention how they went to church last Sunday. I wondered, "Do they READ their Bibles?" But I think you summed up perfectly where such people are coming from. They want the approval of the world, not of God.

If you want an interesting hobby, don’t wonder anymore. ASK what they have read in their Bible during the last week. You will not win friends and will enjoy your cup of coffee alone...................................

That will mean, you will have to ask your self the question.
Thus a little application of “judge not, lest yea be judged by the same standard.” And if you have read the Bible in the past week, at least you will have an interesting conversation.

I think that is something Pastors need to remind their congregation from time to time, that denying what Jesus taught is also denying him.

My church had a service on homosexuality but it was geared towards excepting gays into our community of Christ and not to judge their sins. I felt the sermon tap danced around the issue of whether the congregation should take a stand against gay marriage and whether we should also call out those who are leading others down the wrong path.

Pastor Bill, I’m a Christian woman in my 40’s who lived as a lesbian in my 20’s before I was delivered from it by the Lord’s grace, and there’s a few things on this isssue that I ask you to consider. the first thing is that it seems to me that the church in America has largely lost the distinction between being in the world but not of it. The words are embraced but not the actual practice. Above all, you can’t embrace the hopeless world’s entertainments without becoming like the world. i hear Christians all the time say it doesn’t affect them, but it does in innumerable ways. They seem to think they’re “too smart” or “too Christian,” or they’re “evangelizing” by embracing the world. One of the sad things about it, though, is that by barring Christ from reigning in this area of their lives they’re missing out on the abundant life Christ talked about. (Cont’d)

Well said. No man(woman) can serve two masters. For example: I hear contradictory speech from ‘Christians’ quite regularly; saying good and Godly things, and in the same conversation, ‘potty’ language.

The real Christian conversion gives a foundation that changes people. Old things are passed away, and all things become new.

God truly changed my life. For me, the material things of this world became of little importance. I became quite satisfied with just the simple life, instead of trying to follow (or be involved in) all sorts of sports, or trying to keep up with the ever changing things that were ‘cool’ at the time. God showed me (and still does) what really is important. Life is so much better being a servant of the Lord, than a constant slave to the world.

Praise God dear sister, “...And such were some of you, but you are washed, you are sanctified, You were justified in the name of Jesus and of our God!” (I Cor 6) I agree with you, the saturation in entertainment has changed many Christians without their awareness. We are all as Lot and his family, in a sea of evil, and losing more of our souls everyday.

Thank you both for your replies, and Amen to what you wrote. I actually have more still to write on this issue. Yesterday I was so busy that I couldn’t get back here. The Lord has blessed me with having a Bible study for women I met in a homeless shelter. I stayed there after the Lord led me to move from a highly Catholic area to the “Bible belt. That meets Sundays and I cook for it, too. The Lord has also blessed me by bringing a young woman into my life whom I’m like a mother, too, and she needed my attention yesterday, too, so I was busy the whole day. When I get the time, though, this evening or on my day off tomorrow, I’ll finish what I believe the Lord has given me to say on it.

Not only do Christians lose the abundant life Jesus talked about when they go after the world’s entertainment, but they plant seeds from Satan’s spirit rather than the Lord’s, and they aren’t serving the Lord but the Devil.

Christians may believe Satan’s lies, including that they aren’t being affected and no one is hurt by the world’s entertainment itself, but, for one thing, the children around them aren’t fooled. If a Christian preaches what the Bible says, that godliness is part of the Christian life, and then listens to Michael Jackson’s music or watches Desperate Housewives or Modern Family, that Christian’s children aren’t fooled. I remember how devastated I felt as an adult in my 30’s after getting rides from two leaders in my Baptist Church and hearing what they had on their car radios. I’d grown up in a lukewarm Lutheran Church, in an area dominated by the Catholic Church. Anyone who talked about Jesus, praying regularly or reading their Bibles was considered a freak. Less than 5% of the people belong to evangelical churches. I was so overjoyed to come to know God’s Word and then find a church that was built on it. But so much of it turned out to be only superficial.

These two leaders both personally talked of how bad the world’s entertainment could be. One, a man, taught adult Sunday school and the other was an older woman who led Awana with her husband. One day the woman offered me a ride and when her car starts up, what’s on the radio but Madonna singing “Like a Prayer”? The man was very vocal about listening to Christian music, but he gives me a ride one day, and I couldn’t place the singer of the song playing, (cont’d)

and the singer was Rod Stewart, and I came across an article that said his daughter had recently, at that time, done something like pose without clothes for a photo shoot and possibly there was a lesbian angle to it, and Stewart’s daughter said her father was fine with it and proud of her. These Christian leaders never said a word about what they had on their radios, but they are sure to have confused and discouraged the faith of many, especially children (and that has already been borne out just by looking at the Facebook pages of their own children). We may have embraced and exalted immorality like no society ever before, including Sodom and Gomorrah, and yet Christians defend and partake of these evils. How is that?

And in the particular case of the younger generation from Christian families accepting homosexualty, these young people know that some people (including some of them) experience attraction for the same-sex, and if the older Christians can’t so much as be faithful to God’s Word in (cont’d)

in something like entertainment, wearing revealing clothes, etc., and if they imitate Hollywood in thought, word, and action in their daily lives, despite what they say they believe, then why should people who feel an attraction for the same sex be literally the only ones left who the church still expects to live like “Puritans” in self-denial while everyone else gets a pass to live it up? If a Christian won’t think about giving up Harry Potter or Twilight, how can someone be expected to give up “being in love” with an actual person? As someone who the Lord delivered from homosexualty, the worldliness on sex for the most part in the church in America today, while it still preaches God’s Word, was very, very troubling, and the hypocrisy is obvious to children. I know there is a “homosexual agenda” that’s worked to destroy God’s design for marriage, the family, and sex, and liberals have advanced it through colleges and the media, but if the church was faithful to God’s Word, young people would see the lies for what they are.
