UCLA Professor Says Jesus Supports Obamacare
College Fix ^ | December 20, 2013 | Samantha Watkins

Robert Chao Romero, an ethnic studies professor at UCLA who also runs a Christian youth ministry in Los Angeles, argues students are often taught Christianity and social justice causes such as immigration reform and affirmative action stand opposed.

But the way Romero sees it, Jesus would support immigration reform, affirmative action – even the Affordable Care Act – and it’s part of a message he gives to college students to teach them about “Jesus’ heart for justice,” he tells The College Fix.

Romero recently published a free ebook, “Jesus For Revolutionaries,” which spells out in detail why he believes Jesus would support all three measures.

When it comes to Obamacare, Romero said he – and Jesus – support it because “50,000 of my neighbors in the United States die each year for lack of meaningful healthcare.”

“To love them as myself requires that I support structural change to our nation’s health care system,” he explains. “The Affordable Care Act is far from perfect, but it is a strong step away from the status quo and towards loving our neighbors as ourselves.”

It’s the same concept behind immigration reform and affirmative action, he adds.

Romero said he supports immigration reform, and so does God.

“I support immigration reform because millions of undocumented immigrants are being exploited as cheap labor, torn apart from their families through unjust deportations, and scapegoated by racist laws such as Arizona SB-1070,” he said. “God makes it clear through dozens of Bible verses that we are not supposed to exploit immigrants.”

As for affirmative action, Romero cites 2 Corinthians 8:13, which states: “Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality.”

“The goal of educational affirmative action is that there might be equality for students who come from backgrounds of poverty and from unequal educational systems,” he says. “Urban schools are largely the legacy of historical racism.”

Pastor Romero was ordained by a small, black interdenominational council of churches in South Los Angeles ... and describes himself as a “pastor to the pastor-less,” adding: “Many of the students we mentor don’t have a close relationship with any church.”

I want to know chapter and verse where Jesus specifically taught that the government should take over the medical industry.

The gospel according to Fruit Loops. And why do I have the feeling that, somewhere in there, he will also help you, regardless of your sex, to remove your clothes to REALLY get in touch with your spiritual side?

On the one hand, Scripture teaches us to submit to the ruling authorities.

On the other hand, Scripture ALSO teaches that we must defy the ruling authorities if they demand that we violate the Word.

So does obedience to Obamacare violate God’s Word?

Do I really need to answer that?

Something tells me that this so-called Professor has never even read the Bible. This sounds SO much like the liberal strawman of wimpy teddy-bear Jesus.

So, immigrants are being exploited yet they come here voluntarily. Then AZ passes a law that will get them back home and he says it’s racist.

“I want to know chapter and verse where Jesus specifically taught that the government should take over the medical industry.”
Jesus wouldn’t recognize a thing today.
The government as we’re experiencing it today began in the 1930’s and exploded with Johnson’s “Great Society.” The previous great governmental expansion was in France, probably during Napoleon when it started to offer services and laws about how much bakers could charge for bread. (Those laws actually started earlier and led to the downfall of the kings.)

When it comes to favoring one color over another, rewarding illegal activity with citizenship and unconstitutional tax laws, the phrase “What Would Jesus Do” conjures up visions of overturned tables and bullwhips.

I’m sure that he also preaches the gospel of La Raza, to paraphrase Bender “ethic studies my shiny metal ass!”

UCLA Professor Says Jesus Supports Obamacare

Well... Perhaps Jesus might have supported Obamacare the way it was described a few years ago, but now that we've passed the law and we've found out what's in it, not so much.

So maybe Jesus would give Obama a couple of points for good intentions if he really bought into the myth that is was done "with good intentions", but given the extent to which the lie has been exposed, he'd probably have a little discomfort with endorsing it. After all, it's absolutely nothing like the original sales pitch, which was a lie on an epic scale.

Sounds like he’s found some new passages in the exclusive Democrat version of the Bible. Bet there’s several in there that say that our border to Mexico should be open, and there should be no voter ID in Texas, too.

He stands a good chance of being called to the White Hut to be a spiritual advisor to The Won.

Note to the good professor: It’s not Christian Charity and Gooe Will when it is confiscated by FedGov at the muzzle of their guns (IRS, HHS, DHS, ETC.) and under threat of their Anti-Constitutional legislation.

I am perfectly capable of determining and distributing my own Christian charity and good will. I don’t need Zero and 0bamunists in the mix.
