It seems that it is not enough to let us be to discuss this incredible gift without their derision and ridicule and hateful jabs at this holy Sacrament. For those here who whine that too many posts such as this are made, and who feel the need to come into the thread, rather than ignoring it, with snide comments....why do you continue to spew the same old tired and tiresome garbage. These posts are very well thought out and written and there are many Catholics who enjoy the discussion about the Source and Summit of our faith.

I think if that was all the Catholics that post these kinds of threads intended to do, there would be FAR fewer ones from gloating Catholic "apologists" high-fiving their resounding defeats (in their own minds) of "Protestants" and their "faulty" doctrines. You have your Caucus threads all nice and protected from contrary viewpoints, why isn't that the perfect place to go for "Catholics who need their faith strengthened by what they read here."?

Should a "Protestant" post a polemical thread criticizing what the Roman Catholic Church teaches, y'all are free to contribute to the discussion and give your reasons why you disagree - and y'all do so quite a bit even on threads that don't even mention your religion. That's the cool thing about this site. I hardly think NYer and Salvation, after ALL this time, don't know ahead of time what to expect from their many such threads - many of which are repeats.

The derision and ridicule and hateful jabs at this holy Sacrament you decry were NOT aimed at the sacrament but at the condescending, patronizing and ridiculing hateful jabs made TOWARDS non-Catholics who just don't happen to agree that we are missing anything by not seeing eye to eye with Catholics on this topic. Is Catholicism so tender and weak that her members have to ban all contrary opinions in order to remain strengthened in their faith? Must they repetitively post threads that provoke and condescend towards "Protestants" in order to assure each other that you're all in the right place regardless of evidence that might rattle that assurance? I think that is why you don't see very many threads from "us" that are based on disproving Catholicism. We don't have to. What does that tell you about who is more assured and solid in what they believe and who don't NEED to abase others because of it?

It might help to do a little research before you show your complete ignornance and non belief.

Read below: The Flesh is Real Flesh and the Blood is Real Blood.

The simplest way to express what Christ asks us to believe about the Real Presence is that the Eucharist is really He. The Real Presence is the real Jesus. We are to believe that the Eucharist began in the womb of the Virgin Mary; that the flesh which the Son of God received from His Mother at the Incarnation is the same flesh into which He changed bread at the Last Supper; that the blood He received from His Mother is the same blood into which He changed wine at the Last Supper. Had she not given Him His flesh and blood there could not be a Eucharist.
We are to believe that the Eucharist is Jesus Christ - simply, without qualification. It is God become man in the fullness of His divine nature, in the fullness of His human nature, in the fullness of His body and soul, in the fullness of everything that makes Jesus Jesus. He is in the Eucharist with His human mind and will united with the Divinity, with His hands and feet, His face and features, with His eyes and lips and ears and nostrils, with His affections and emotions and, with emphasis, with His living, pulsating, physical Sacred Heart. That is what our Catholic Faith demands of us that we believe. If we believe this, we are Catholic. If we do not, we are not, no matter what people may think we are.

Father John A. Hardon S.J.

The following Eucharistic miracle happened before man made Protestant churches came into existance.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/2362617/posts

Ancient Anxanum, the city of the Frentanese, has contained for over twelve centuries the first and greatest Eucharistic Miracle of the Catholic Church. This wondrous Event took place in the 8th century A.D. in the little Church of St. Legontian, as a divine response to a Basilian monk’s doubt about Jesus’ Real Presence in the Eucharist.

During Holy Mass, after the two-fold consecration, the host was changed into live Flesh and the wine was changed into live Blood, which coagulated into five globules, irregular and differing in shape and size.

The Host-Flesh, as can be very distinctly observed today, has the same dimensions as the large host used today in the Latin church; it is light brown and appears rose-colored when lighted from the back.

The Blood is coagulated and has an earthy color resembling the yellow of ochre.

Various ecclesiastical investigation (”Recognitions”) were conducted since 1574.

In 1970-’71 and taken up again partly in 1981 there took place a scientific investigation by the most illustrious scientist Prof. Odoardo Linoli, eminent Professor in Anatomy and Pathological Histology and in Chemistry and Clinical Microscopy. He was assisted by Prof. Ruggero Bertelli of the University of Siena.

The analyses were conducted with absolute and unquestionable scientific precision and they were documented with a series of microscopic photographs.
These analyses sustained the following conclusions:

The Flesh is real Flesh. The Blood is real Blood.

The Flesh and the Blood belong to the human species.

The Flesh consists of the muscular tissue of the heart.

In the Flesh we see present in section: the myocardium, the endocardium, the vagus nerve and also the left ventricle of the heart for the large thickness of the myocardium.

The Flesh is a “HEART” complete in its essential structure.

The Flesh and the Blood have the same blood-type: AB (Blood-type identical to that which Prof. Baima Bollone uncovered in the Holy Shroud of Turin).

In the Blood there were found proteins in the same normal proportions (percentage-wise) as are found in the sero-proteic make-up of the fresh normal blood.

In the Blood there were also found these minerals: chlorides, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, sodium and calcium.

The preservation of the Flesh and of the Blood, which were left in their natural state for twelve centuries and exposed to the action of atmospheric and biological agents, remains an extraordinary phenomenon.

I was only trying to express that everything Christ said was not literal.

Do you think the Pharisees were mollified by Jesus' refutation when they charged the Disciples of "harvesting on the Sabbath?"

Well; according to Matthew 21:45-46...

Sorry, but I don't understand your response either.

There are 10 kinds of people in the world; those that understand binary numbers, and those that don't.

Did your god dam me to hell for all eternity before I was even born despite any and all of my earthly actions or not.

It is written in John 3:18

Jesus said it. I believe Him.

He also said...

Get thee behind me SATAN

"You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?

"First let the children eat all they want," he told her, "for it is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs."

You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred?

When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman, here is your son,” 27 and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

So now you have to decide how to take these statements.

Last but not least, there are Catholics who need their faith strengthened by what they read here.

And then there are us pesky PROTESTants, who believe the scripture that says:

NIV 2 Corinthians 1:13-14
13. For we do not write you anything you cannot read or understand. And I hope that,
14. as you have understood us in part, you will come to understand fully that you can boast of us just as we will boast of you in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Ouch so how do you know we’re not both in the same boat?

1 John 5:13
I'm writing these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God. I'm doing it so you will know that you have eternal life.

John 6:28-29

Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

But... what if you DON'T believe??

John 3:18

Do you find it odd ...

No; for it is repeated over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over ...

Now, I'm sure there will quickly come the castigations, sarcasms and accusations that I wasn't properly catechized and that I didn't say it "right", that I don't know what I am talking about, and so forth, but this IS the way most Catholics view this part of their faith.

And yet, when they read the FACTS, posted from their catechism*, out LOUD; their ears must be plugged up.

The Flesh is real Flesh. The Blood is real Blood.

Then it follows logically that...

Peter is REALLY Satan
Pharisees are REALLY serpents
Mary REALLY did have another son - John
Samaritans are REALLY dogs

Paragraph 552 is referenced (in some Catechisms) as related to 424, and indeed, we can see the Catholic teaching regarding Matt 16:18 often “debated” here is reflected here:

” Simon Peter holds the first place in the college of the Twelve;283 Jesus entrusted a unique mission to him. Through a revelation from the Father, Peter had confessed: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Our Lord then declared to him: “You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.”284 Christ, the “living stone,”285 thus assures his Church, built on Peter, of victory over the powers of death. Because of the faith he confessed Peter will remain the unshakeable rock of the Church. His mission will be to keep this faith from every lapse and to strengthen his brothers in it.286 (880, 153, 442, 424)”

Because of his faith, St Peter remains the rock.

So you, and others, may go back to debating about “the rock”, if you wish. (Although if you do, you’ll miss the simple yet powerful point made above, but that’s nothing new around here).

Regardless, my point is there is no disagreement with Catholics here and the Catechism on this point, as anyone objective can see.
