Even Atheists sense the need to assembly (church) together. They want to sing, laugh, fellowship and meet needs without realizing that the Creator of all placed that very thing within us.

The AP having another anti-faith orgasm. People without faith are people without souls...their afterlife will be dark and empty.

The difference is that atheists mock instead of worship. Whenever they get together to relate their “disbelief”, it’s always in mockery, saying how stupid religious people must be to believe in some old white-bearded guy sitting in the clouds. Do religious people get together to say how stupid atheists are? No, and there’s the difference.

They will merge shortly with the Unitarians. The Methodists are not far behind.

Just the place to be on a Sunday morning - amidst a throng of scoffing sneering cynics.
What else could go on in an "atheist mega church"? Heaven knows there are already enough places to go that have conscientiously omitted God.

Do they get together just to discuss how they hate Christians and hate God?

Atheist mega-churches spring up across U.S., world Of course! And the next step is for the Dems to legitimize these "churches" as mainline with legislation recognizing them as such. This is to further push real churches out of the mainstream and brand them as cults.

Atheists are sheep and they are the dumbest kind of sheep who thinks that freedom is found in the center of the herd.
Let the Atheist Mega-Social Centers thrive. Eventually, one guy with influence will find God and sneak back in to quietly evangelize to the sheep. He can be a modern-day CS Lewis.

Are you a Methodist? Or have you just “heard”?

Sooner or later they will be worshipping something, which will be the modern equivalent of the golden calf.

Of course the AP is presenting this as though it's a tidal wave of atheistic "liberation." The fact is there may be a handful of faddists thumbing their noses at traditional religion, but like all childish impulses, this won't last long.
Get back to me when it's survived 2,000 years.

I hope these people are remembering to separate their church from their state...

So they have gone up from 1% to 1.1% big deal. It is still an empty lifestyle.

If all they have in common, what bonds them, is a hatred for believers, doesn’t that make them a “hate group”?
Also, a “mega-mob” not a “mega-church”. A church without God is not a church.
With no higher power to guide them, dangerous leaders are the natural result - their mission will necessarily become persecution.
