The University of Regina is going to great lengths to help its Muslim students avoid doing the same when washing for on-campus prayer sessions.
The university has installed “foot-baths” in a public washroom at its Riddell Centre, in order to allow Muslim students — many of whom pray numerous times a day, and wash themselves beforehand — to clean their feet in a way that isn’t awkward and difficult through a use of regular sinks.
“I’ve seen them do it. It’s tough for them,” Nathan Sgrazzutti, president of the U of R Students Union, said on Tuesday of the troubles that many of the more than 700 practising Muslims at the campus had experienced when preparing for prayers.
“We’re showing our ability to cater to their needs.”
Two foot-baths, resembling large sinks with seats, are in a men’s washroom following their installation earlier this summer at what university spokesman Dale Johnson said was a total cost of about $35,000.
“I haven’t been in the women’s washroom, but I’m under the understanding it’s in both,” Sgrazzutti said, lauding the U of R’s administration for its efforts to assist Muslim students from Regina and those who have come to the campus from other countries.

Cater, huh? The definition of that word is to indulge, to please, to humor, to nurture. Now imagine the same statement made about Christian students.
It wouldn't happen in a million years.
Anyone else completely grossed out at the thought of someone washing their FEET in a public sink in which other people have to wash their HANDS??
Well, on an encouraging note, there are very clear indicators that God is really moving on the SU campus. There have been some significant changes that have happened and are in the works that will change the direction of the university. It’s an answer to many years worth of prayer by some very committed Christians praying weekly for the campus.
Anyone who is so inclined is encouraged to keep praying for the university. SU is so big and so diverse that it would have a real impact not only on Syracuse and CNY, but on many parts of the world as there are many foreign nationals who attend there and ultimately return home.
Considering how often they wash their feet, their feet are probably cleaner than their hands.......
Think about it....your feet were washed in the shower this morning and were encased in clean socks up until this time...your hands, however have touched all kinds of things both personal and public...you shook hands with seven people, handled papers and objects touched by others and blew your nose three times......and you're worried about feet??????

This is the USA NOT an Islamic Nation....this is not part of our ‘culture’ practices nor that of our Judeo-Christian heritage...these practices are not who we are...... We are fools for adapting to their culture and practices... for each inch they take away from ‘who we are’, and appease their demands.... THEY see as a victory for the Islamification of America....which their ultimate goal is to dominate this country.
I have great fear this nation chooses to forfeit who we are.... and for that can no longer discern ....who we are not.
We are soon going face the same problems Europe is having and of which they are loosing those battles to Islam.
In every country they enter they bring violence and dominance...and criminal elements we have yet to see will get out of hand in no time.
