Richard Dawkins Stirs Controversy for 'Mild Pedophilia' Remarks By Michael Gryboski The Christian Post

Notable atheist intellectual and author Richard Dawkins has stirred controversy for recent remarks in which he refused to condemn what he called "mild pedophilia" that took place during his childhood.

In an interview with The Times last weekend, Dawkins said that while in school back in the 1950s one of his schoolmasters "pulled me on his knee and put his hand inside my shorts."

Dawkins went on to claim that "I don't think he did any of us lasting harm" and that he could not condemn "people of an earlier era by the standards of ours."

"Just as we don't look back at the 18th and 19th centuries and condemn people for racism in the same way as we would condemn a modern person for racism," said Dawkins.......

Well that explains a lot.

This is yet another reason why child molestation is evil. It pushes children away from God.

Now it all makes sense. I feel sorry for the guy. Before, I just thought he was an arrogant hedonist. He’s just broken, and has been broken since some wormy bastard had carnal knowledge of him.

When nothing is “Wrong” than anything “OK”. The ultimate goal of atheists. (Or antitheists)

Mild pedophilia is like being slightly murdered. The damage done is just as bad, no matter how much you try to sugar coat it. Pedophiles deserve their own special place in hell, with much harsher punishment than the average damned.

Completely concur with your comments. And let's be clear here, no one knew of Dawkins molestation until now and we have no way of knowing if he is now making full disclosure.

Was there more molestation of Dawkins he's not revealing?

Molestation is why so many people then gravitate to deviant sexual behavior and harden their hearts towards God. It is a sad thing, but I know God can change the hearts of those who retain even the smallest sliver of tenderness.

"Mild pedophilia", it's the next "step".

After that, full pedophilia and laws saying you can't discriminate against them nor try to protect your kids from them. Also, it will be taught (forced) as "normal" in elementary schools.

It strikes me as no accident that this approval of pedophilia goes hand in hand with this creep’s virulent anti-Christian atheist activism. No core. What other perversions does he harbor a fondness for doing or approving?

Touching kids is always an outrage, and the one who does it deserves the severest treatment.

But...

Being touched by an adult does not mean that one who has been touched must suffer permanent damage or alteration of life because of it.

Our culture insists that if one is a victim, he must be affected forever by it, and must display his wounds from then on. Even conservatives, who in other cases pooh pooh the culture of victimization, buy into this psychobabble.

By God’s grace, very many people have happily moved on from all kinds of personal trespasses and injuries. It simply does not follow that if one is molested or harmed, he is required to be encumbered for the rest of his life.

"I do not believe that I, or they, suffered lasting, or even temporary damage from this disagreeable physical abuse of power. Given the Latin Master's eventual suicide, maybe the damage was all on his side."

Oh, tut-tut, there was that. But aside from victim turning atheist and perpetrator committing suicide, no lasting damage...

Thank you for pointing that out. I have come across a couple of people who were physically abused as children who completely moved on to live good and happy lives. Healing can and does happen.

I’ll take the guy, who i dont know or care to know that much about, at his word. If he says he wasn’t harmed, who am I to argue wiht him?

DISCLAIMER(for those who I know will need it): I am in no way in favor of child sexual or other abuse. Whew! That was close.

that may well be the case.

I see no description of such a damnation but although its not mentioned in the bible does not necessarily mean that such a place of SPECIAL TORMENT does not exist.

Molesting a powerless child is just evil. I should think anyone forcing their attentions on those smaller weaker and less able to defend themselves against unwanted touching would be soundly ridiculed and despised.

Shame on you and your lack of compassion common sense and ugly moral values. I suppose rape would be something one should just lay back and enjoy too?

"Mild pedophilia"

Is that like being "a little bit pregnant?"

Excerpt from the article:
http://www.christianpost.com/news/richard-dawkins-stirs-controversy-for-mild-pedophilia-remarks-104174/

"Being fondled by the Latin master in the Squash Court was a disagreeable sensation for a nine-year-old, a mixture of embarrassment and skin-crawling revulsion, but it was certainly not in the same league as being led to believe that I, or someone I knew, might go to everlasting fire," wrote Dawkins. "I do not believe that I, or they, suffered lasting, or even temporary damage from this disagreeable physical abuse of power. Given the Latin Master's eventual suicide, maybe the damage was all on his side."

That's the thing about atheists/moral relativists such as Dawkins, they can rationalize the molestation of little boys (as Dawkins is doing with his own experience of being molested) and twist that into a condemnation that teaching our kids morals through faith and the consequences for bad behavior/sin.

I really don't need to speak the obvious to my fellow Freepers, but I will, Richard Dawkins is one twisted individual!

“I see no description of such a damnation....”

Matthew 18, verse 6: he who violates a child should be drowned in the depths of the sea.
