Not setting any dates... just putting out a thought on the Rapture.... If you read the post you would know that....

Let me ask you a question... What Jewish feast Day was Messiah crucified on? What Jewish feast Day did He rise from the grave? What Jewish feast day was the “called out assembly i.e., the church” of the Messiah born?.. See the pattern?

The Bible is Jewish to understand it you must think like a Jew.

Only a small remnat as God’s Word states (Rom. 9:27)

Indeed the Peace of Jerusalem will only come when Messiah returns after HORRIFIC global tribulation Rev. 6-19) and at the climax of the Battle of Armageddon (Rev. 19:11-21)and 2/3’s of the world’s Jews will die during this time (Isa. 4:2-3,Jer. 30:1-8, Zech. 13:8-9, Roms. 9:27). Indeed tragic.

I congratulate you on the purity of your faith in Jesus and in your full-blooded Baptist Jewish Lutheran patrimony. Also I am sorry about all of your Christian Jewish relatives who endured persecution, perhaps in Germany or as Roma Negroes in Armenia.

If you were really Jewish, you would have ancestors who were persecuted as well. If you read the word of God you would know that the Lord scattered the people and they would all be persecuted - and that He has a purpose for that, for our good, so we don’t feel sorry.

Some of us are not Jews because they have good bagels and lox. Know what I mean?

You may wish to re-think who you think you are better than, because it looks pretty stupid on you.

If you were really Jewish you would know about Jewish customs of adoption, because that would really help you understand the character of God and how all of these things can be.

Anyway- I think this conversations has come to an end, because I don’t think you are being honest.

Shalom

I am nobody... all I stated was for you to read and study the Torah, Psalms and prophets for yourself... am I a monster for making such a suggestion? Do not even your rabbis teach such things? Why are you so offended? Are you not Jewish? Why then are you so upset if I point out things from the Torah, Psalms and Prophets to you?

Is God relevant? and His Word void? Do whatever you want to do... we all have free will... All I was saying is why do you not read the Torah, Prophets and Psalms for yourself to see what they teach. I gave you many Bible verses for you to look up. Why then are you so horrified and afraid of what the Torah, Psalms and Prophets are saying? Sadly in the end it is always much easier to invest one’s time in listening to others and traditions then making the efforts and studying and investing one’s time for one’s self.

I am not pushing theology just the Word’s of Moses, Isaiah, David, Zechariah all Jewish prophets as they were moved by the Holy Spirit?

This is the religion forum and I am not seeking to insult you... but just objectively talk about the Torah, the Psalms and the Prophets relating to the Messiah of Israel. Those are all quite Jewish thoughts through and through.. Sadly when it comes down to it you do not believe the Torah, the Psalms and the prophets. That is fine and your decision. I did not mean to offend you... just encourage you in the Word of Truth (Psalm 119).

Indeed your last response is quite tragic and exactly what Isaiah stated (Deut. 28-32, Isaiah 6:8-10).

Remember Moses and Elijah... they are coming soon my friend (Malachi 4.)

Shalom in TRUTH and RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Indeed my friend you get... praise be! My heart goes out. We love the Jews, the apple of God’s eye (Gen. 12:1-3)! Horrifically it will indeed take Jacob’s trouble (Jer. 30:5-7) and great tribulation mentioned by Jeremiah, Zechariah and Isaiah (Isa. 24, Zech.12:8-9, 14:1-4). To bring them to a saving relationship to the Messiah (Zech. 12:10-14, 13:9).

For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’” Indeed my friend!

Dan. 2:44-45, 7:13-14, Zech. 12:10-14). The fulfillment of the Day of Atonement.

God speed!

Notice, Jews do not proselytize.

And that was the problem with them.

Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God and made a religion out of it, instead of bringing the world to know the Creator.

Ahh, yes! Adoption! No, seriously. I have only two questions for you, as you have an insufferable habit of questioning my Jewishness for the sake of - well frankly I don't know why. Something to do with Jesus. You certainly feel strong enough about your "Jewish" superiority. So you have to swear, here, in this forum, to answer them honestly. To make it easy, they are "yes" or "no" questions. 1. Was your mother a Jew? Did she identify as a Jew? 2. Was her mother a Jew? 3. If you are a male, are you circumcized? These questions should be easy enough, and they don't require of you to be "spiritually" Jewish, just "actually" Jewish, in accordance with the Laws of Judiasm. (I grant you feel these laws may be wrong.) So for me: 1. Yes she was. 2. Yes she was. 3. Yes I am. The rest is important, of course (like the little bit about not worshiping idols) but if you can swear, as I hereby do, on the answers to these questions, you are basically a Jew. And if you don't know that, my little friend, you are NOT a Jew. Of course we can go further: Do you keep the Commandments (all of which I do not keep) etc., but above, is basically, "basically" it. I don't expect you to have been Bar Mitzvah or to say Shema or keep Shabbat or even to know any Hebrew or to observe the Holydays... None of that. (Though I do.) But they're really not so important. Surely you can swear to these three simple facts? I do. Then, if you can do so, you are indeed a Jew. And if you are a Jew who follows Jesus, you can call yourself a Christian. But first, please swear on these three things. I trust you.

So the only thing that is important in your religion is that you have a mother and can identify with your mother, and that you trust that she is not lying or mistaken.

Good thing none of her family line had to go into hiding or flee from their country of origin, or was moved to bring other people to know their maker in new lands, because all of those people have lost all connection with God, right? - because their mothers may have been killed or had to change their name to stay alive or joined other churches to be the remnants there and help bring those children back to God.

So- yes.. Aren’t you the special one? :)

Great. Enjoy your religion, for what good it does for you. It sounds very odd to me, so no thanks. I don’t want any part of that. I don’t want a religion.

I have found tremendous freedom and joy from all of the high days, holidays, seasons, calendars, festivals, and teachings, myself and even the commandments and traditions that Jesus observed. The 10 commandments bring great joy. People who love God love his ways.

Even tho my family ancestry is Jewish on my mother’s side, my own mother is an atheist.

Guess that means I get thrown off the plantation too, huh?

How about all the Jews who sit at passover and resent the heck out of having to be there? BUT their mother forced them, so THEY are Jewish.

Ok. You can have that.

So- the reason I am a Jew is my faith in God and the promises He has kept to me personally and my deep love for Jerusalem and all her ways.

And you are the one who insists that everyone is a “wannabe” let recall.

How about this. YOU be the “real Jew” and I will be the “wannabe” and I will rejoice that I have a savior and my name is written in Heaven. You have your mother’s word that you are “Jewish”

Enjoy it.

Have a great day.

There are both good and bad things in Fundamentalist Protestantism's fixation on Jews and Judaism. More than any other form of chrstianity, Fundamentalist Protestants understand that in order to be true, in order to be what it claims to be, chrstianity must be the "fulfillment" (G-d forbid!) of Judaism.

The bad part of this is of course the Jewish/chrstian syncretism and possibility of Jewish souls being ensnared (G-d forbid!).

But there are good things too. Fundamentalist Protestants look up to Jews as genuine (a compliment they don't pay to the ancient chrstian communities). They even acknowledge their authority (or at least expertise) in a limited way. Torah Jews should take advantage of this situation to educate well-meaning non-Jews about the Truth of Torah as opposed to all other religions. It's almost impossible to get them to drop their preconceptions, but I believe the effort must be made.

Telling chrstians to stick to their own religion, when that religion is objectively false, is counterproductive IMHO.

Rosh Hashanna is a creation of the Rabbis, not of Yehova. `The real Rosh Hashanna is the first day of the Aviv.

::Sigh:: It never ends, does it?

The first day of the first month is the new year for reckoning the seasons, the festal calendar, and the reigns of Jewish kings. The first day of the seventh month is the "new year for years," ie, the reckoning of history and chronology.

The Sabbatical and Jubilee years, which are to be observed every seven years (in the case of the former) and fifty years (in the case of the latter) begin and end in the seventh month, not the first month, because that is when the "calendar year" begins.

The first day of the seventh month (Ro'sh HaShanah) is the anniversary of the Sixth Day of Creation, when Adam was created. The anniversary of the First Day of Creation is the 25th day of the sixth month, which is this coming Shabbat.

Precisely. Though you call yourself a Jew because you have personal feelings about the matter, or have personal promises from your god or gods, and use words like “family ancestry is Jewish,” being Jewish - according to Jewish law - is not about your feelings.

The reason it “matters” to me is because your previous posts consisted among other things of accusations that I myself was somehow not a Jew or a real Jew, and that you were.

This thread ends of course with your not being quite sure what you’re talking about again and your whimpering business about “you can have this religion, I don’t want it.”

Capricious, proud, dishonorable, vacillating, weak, and sinful. Enjoy your special spot in Heaven, we’ll be in the back with the musicians.

Do NOT make this thread "about" individual Freepers. That is also a form of "making it personal."

Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.

EinNYC, this thread is posted as an "open" thread in the Religion Forum. That means that posters may argue either for or against deities, beliefs, religious authorities, etc.

The main guideline here is to "discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal."

Accusing another Freeper personally of telling lies is a form of "making it personal" because it attributes motive, the intent to deceive. Any kind of mind reading of other Freepers, personally, is making it personal. Making the thread "about" other Freepers individually is also a form of making it personal.

If you do not wish to see Religion Forum posts, do NOT use the "everything" option on the Free Republic browse option list. Instead, browse by "News/Activism." When you log back in, the browse will reset to "everything" - so be sure to set it back to "News/Activism."

editor-surveyor, you have been on open threads in the Religion Forum for a very long time. You should know by now to discuss the issues and not "make it personal." If you cannot or will not comply with the guideline on this thread, then leave the thread.

Pharisaical absurdity.

Yehova declares what is so, not rabbis.

And you are right, it will never end.

Umm. You posted to me first and called me a wannabe. Then you proceeded to be extremely rude.

I asked you to prove then , that you are a Jew. Since you were disputing that I was Jewish. You refused to do that, so I said that made me suspicious that you were a Jew at all. Now you want to play the victim? You are pouting? You want to twist the events so you can gain sympathy?

That is what leftists do. It is filthy behavior.

So anyway- as I said, this discussion isn’t going anywhere.

Enjoy your religion. Bye.

Why would you bother educating anyone? Unless you were just trying to rub it in?

Seems that you agree with the other poster that only special people, the ones whose Mother swore she was Jewish, are Jewish. And of course the Jewish religion is the only way to know God, so everyone else is worthless and hopeless.

Some people don’t know their Mothers. All God’s plan, no doubt for the world, and would explain why there are so few official “Jews”.

Most people’s ancestry have gone thru life changing events, save a few special people who were not really involved with much history, because their lives were never on the line.

And according to your Jewish law, none of the rest of us count for anything, because there is no hope for us.

God only cares about the very special few, is what you are saying, so why bother telling them about what they can not be a part of?

Right? SO why bother educating anyone about the Torah or God?

Not much they can do about it anyway? Other than feel pain that you all are the special chosen few, and we can do nothing at all to change our lot in life.
