Psalm 5:11

Let All those that Trust in Thee Rejoice:
Let them Ever Shout for Joy,
Because Thou Defendest them.

KEYWORDS: americanheroes; jesus; pray; prayer
Our Merciful Father,

'O Lord, Here me Praying: Listen to my Plea, O God my King, for I will Never Pray to Anyone but You. Each Morning I will Look to You in Heaven and Lay my Requests before You, Praying Earnestly.' (Ps.5:1-3) We Love You, our Lord, and Rejoice in Your Holy, Great Name. 'Let Everything that hath Breath Praise the Lord!' (Ps.150:6)

Our Savior Most Kind, Please Bless and Protect our Dear Troops. May Jesus' Love Surround them, and His Presence Fill Every Heart. We Ask that You will Comfort All their Loved Ones and Friends Back Home. For our Military Men we Pray Psalm 5:11, 'Let All those that Trust in Thee Rejoice: Let them Ever Shout for Joy, Because Thou Defendest them.'

Your Majesty, how our Hearts Long for our Nation to be Revived, through Grace! Save us, King Jesus; Please Rescue us from the Looming Abyss. Please Forgive us, and Put Away our Multitude of Sins. We Ask that Godly Men will Come to Power in the Elections, Dear Lord. Please Move upon Many Hearts to Go Out to the Polls and Vote. May the Evil Men in Office be Defeated, and Thrown Out on by Your Hand.

Thank You, our Abba, for Hearing and Answering our Prayers. We Ask All Things through the Holy Blood of Jesus Christ. In Jesus' Name, for the Glory of the King of Kings, amen.

Creating Your Life

July 18, 2013

The advice that I read in a self-help book sounded good: Do only what you’re great at because that’s when you’ll feel most fulfilled. The author was trying to help readers create the kind of life they wanted. I don’t know about you, but if I did only what I was great at, I wouldn’t accomplish much!

In Mark 10, we read about two disciples, James and John, who had some plans for the kind of life they wanted for themselves someday. They asked to be at Jesus’ right and left hand in His kingdom (v.37). The other 10 disciples were “greatly displeased” with them for asking (v.41). (Possibly because that was the kind of position they wanted for themselves!)

But Jesus used the opportunity to teach His followers about another kind of life—one of serving others. He said, “Whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all” (vv.43-44). It appears that service for others is God’s design for us.

Even Jesus, the Son of God, “did not come to be served, but to serve” (v.45). As we look at Christ’s example and depend on the Holy Spirit’s help, we too can be servants and will create a fulfilling life.

I admit, Lord, that my eyes do get focused on
myself. But I really do want to live from a
heart of love for You. Teach me to be a servant
and to look for my fulfillment in You.
Great occasions for serving God come seldom, but little ones surround us daily.

Whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. —Mark 10:44

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!

GEN. GEORGE WASHINGTON
THE PRAYER AT VALLEY FORGE

"Let Tyrants Shake Their Iron Rod"

IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who straggled into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.

AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and envelop them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

HEAVENLY FATHER, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these valiant men and women who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the Freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your loving embrace, that You cause Your Countenance to shine upon them, and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Through Jesus Christ Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
