There’s been a lot of talk lately about the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (RCRC), a “faith-based” group that claims that Jesus would support abortion and has manipulated many in the church to follow suit and promote abortion as a God-given right that allows women to be in control over their own lives.
Recently we’ve written extensively about the connection of the United Methodist Church to this abhorrent group. My disgust at this group is less about them promoting abortion, as it is about promoting abortion as if they are doing the work of Jesus. As I have been reading some of their statements and affiliations this week (you can find all the religious organizations that support this pro-abortion group by clicking here), I stumbled across a bit of fascinating information.
Late-term abortion guru, LeRoy Carhart, who fights vehemently to kill babies, sits on the RCRC Board of Directors. Called “The Abortion Evangelist,” Carhart is the antithesis to what a person of faith should be doing with their skills.
Infamous for his defense of baby killing at its worst, Carhart, who was driven from Nebraska by its fetal pain law which prohibits abortion after 20 weeks, outlawing the very abortion he has made a fortune from, proceeded to hunt prime killing centers across the nation in places that allowed later-term killing. His presence caused mass protests, but as this story shows, the RCRC was there to support him even as he sought to have his centers opened to exercise his right to kill.
I stumbled across his name on their Form 990 tax return and while I shouldn’t have been shocked based on the pro-abortion anti-biblical rhetoric consistently espoused by this ungodly organization to see that this man who is synonymous in our nation with late-term abortion is working hand-in-hand with leaders from the United Methodist, Presbyterian USA and Episcopal churches , as well as the YWCA. What a disgrace to the divided body of Christ. If you take some time to look at their proudly displayed history, you will see they claim such victories as helping defeat LIFE legislation such as those in South Dakota, Colorado ad Mississippi which would have helped defend life–as one would expect the church would want to do, being representatives of Jesus and all. The RCRC worked with churches and clergy in these and many other regions. They have active presences not only in Democratic circles but Republican. And they do it in the name of the Lord with leadership from demonically influenced power.
A late-term abortion doctor isn’t serving the medical community. What Carhart does is infamous for its abhorrence, even to many pro-choicers. And yet we have Methodist, Episcopal and Presbyterian (USA) leaders affiliated with this man—directly by the national involvement with the RCRC at the denominational level.
I have said it before and I will say it again. You cannot be a part of a church connected to these denominational leaderships and not be a partaker in the abortion industry that it propagates. Keeping your personal money or even the church’s money out of it isn’t enough. Besides money being fungible, having denominational support is worth money. It’s a covering of sorts, of resources and affiliations, all of which involves profit.
There is nothing godly from these denominations working alongside the most infamous abortionist(s) of our current day and calling it the Lord’s work. It’s a lord’s work all right—the lord of darkness.

There is no reconciliation between true faith in God and the taking of life He creates. Indeed, as the last section points out, they partner with other advocacy groups—groups like Planned Parenthood for example, who were in partnership to create the 40 days for abortion “prayer” meeting in California we wrote about here. If you are partnering with these churches, you are partnering with abortion, and you are working with one of the most notable late-term abortion doctors in our land today. This isn’t just about money; it’s about connection, affiliation and loyalty. As Elijah asked on Mt. Carmel,
“How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” (I Kings 18:21)
God is not a god of death. If we are following Him, we cannot be either

I’m glad you asked that question — and I believe the answer is NO, this rogue group does NOT represent the average “Methodist in the pew”. Leftist activists have co-opted what started out years ago as a group advocating against substance addiction (especially tobacco).
I wasn’t even aware that this bunch existed until this morning, and painful as it is to find out, I’m grateful to LifeNews for sounding the trumpet. I’m going to do a little “sounding of the alarm” myself in my local congregation.

..and Presbyterian PCA who broke away from the mainline USA over 30 years ago .....and support 'prolife' fully.
I quit the episcopal church in disgust when the assistant priest got up and gave a strong pro-choice sermon and the head priest then lied and threatened me (he's a former cop) when I objected. I honestly don't think the congregation understood what the SOB was saying in his sermon. Most are so old that they're bordering on senility.

Probably not, but then the question becomes, what are they doing in these pews?
