Why Im Scared (Fr. Longenecker weighs in on today's SCOTUS ruling)
Standing on my head ^ | June 26, 2013 | Fr. Dwight Longenecker

Posted on 06/26/2013 2:14:44 PM PDT by NYer

I haven’t been blogging for a while, and I wonder why. One of the reasons is simple: I have had some personal and family issues to deal with. They have occupied my mind and my time. I’ve also been working hard to finish Slubgrip Instructs – the sequel to The Gargoyle Code . But today I realize that there is another reason. Maybe I should give up reading hysterical Facebook stuff, but the temperature is rising in the culture wars, and I’m scared.

This week we’ve seen homosexual protesters screaming and shouting abuse at a Catholic Mass. At this Mass, celebrated by Cardinal George, a homosexual protester used the Holy Eucharist as a political tool to holler out his rage at the Catholic Church. You can read about it here. Meanwhile Nancy Pelosi publicly ridicules Fr Frank Pavone, calling his open letter stupid, hysterical and dismisses it as irrelevant. Meanwhile in Texas a group of pro abortion citizens, seeing that a bill was about to pass limiting abortion, disrupt the legal, legislative process with screaming, anger and rage and thus keep the bill from passing. Read about it here. Then, this morning we learn that the Supreme Court has ruled that the Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional and homosexual ‘marriage’ in California cannot be challenged by the people.

The reason I’m scared is that the powers of the mass media and the state are lining up with the powers of the Culture of Death. The homosexualists and those who back abortion and a huge proportion of the American population who support their views are joined by an even larger proportion of the American population who are indifferent and who perceive liberty as letting everybody do whatever they want.

The mass media ignore the pro-life position or they mock it and undermine people like me as angry fundamentalists clinging to religion and guns. The mass media are lined up with the powers of the state to promote the agenda of the Culture of Death in a way that will over ride all democratic processes to impose the Culture of Death on all citizens. With “executive orders” avalanching from the White House, with increased surveillance and increased domestic police powers, and fueled with this rage, I’m scared. It will not take much at all to tip over into a secular totalitarian state with an aggressive Culture of Death agenda.

The reason I’m scared is that behind all of this is an irrational, demonic rage. This rage simmers behind the political arguments. It simmers beneath the “peaceful protests”. Most of all it simmers beneath what I call “the kindly mask of liberalism.” This is the smiling face of “concerned” citizens who are “saddened” by anyone who takes a conservative position. Poke their favorite cause a bit and these are the folks who come back whining about how “judgmental and harsh” one is being. These are the ones who put on their sad face and manage to summon up a wan and wounded smile with and promise in a self righteous tone to “pray for you.” Let’s call it like it is. These people are passive-aggressive. They bully you with a phoney nice-ness, but underneath is a simmering rage.

I’m scared because I think that rage is not going to remain behind the mask of nice-ness for long. We’re seeing that demonic rage lurking beneath the surface beginning to emerge, and when it does take cover. That’s why I’m scared, and that’s why I am very careful what I write on this blog–because I have already had threats from homosexualists that they know where I live and they are out to get me. I have already witnessed the burning acid of irrational rage against the Catholic Church in com boxes and in emails to a priest friend who dared to criticize Obama. I’ve already witnessed the howling, screaming rage against the truth, beauty and goodness of the Catholic Church and her saints.

What I’ve seen reminds me of the sub human creatures, taken over by a virulent disease in the film I Am Legend. The once human beings live like zombies in a half life–hiding by day and coming out on the rampage at night ready to kill and devour anyone who is still uninfected by their horrible disease.

That’s why I’m scared.

The Anchoress lets rip over here with her usual detailed and clear sighted analysis.

Pat Robertson on gay marriage

In history there's never been a civilization ever in history that has embraced homosexuality and turned away from traditional fidelity, traditional marriage, traditional child-rearing, and has survived. There isn't one single civilization that has survived that openly embraced homosexuality. So you say, "what's going to happen to America?" Well if history is any guide, the same thing's going to happen to us.

I don't blame him for being scared. Obama's statement was chilling: "How religious institutions define and consecrate marriage has always been up to those institutions." That's freedom to define the faith not freedom to live it in public. Did Catholic adoption agencies close because of the Church's definition of marriage or because they were forced to accept the government's definition? I didn't see anything in his statement that bodes well for religious freedom.

Good Point. I didn't see anything in Obama's statement that said he was going to try to impose anything on the church's. But you just pointed out that they already have.

There is nothing so evil and Demonic as sodomizing others. It is truly something to be feared it is so dehumanizing and mocks God’s Design,

It has always been homosexuals who can kill/mutilate women and children and have no conscience like the Samurai/Brownshirts/Bolsheviks/Afghanis-—and like Jeffrey Dalmer and the Serial Killers like John Gacy. They eject all morality and hate women and use children. They habituate dehumanization.

Rudyard Kipling, (and others through history) saw this coming a century ago:

...

On the first Feminian Sandstones we were promised the Fuller Life
(Which started by loving our neighbour and ended by loving his wife)
Till our women had no more children and the men lost reason and faith,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "The Wages of Sin is Death."

...

As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool's bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;

And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!

He said Obamacare wasn't going to do most of the things it's doing either. I tend to believe very little of what he says.

Even if I were to give him the benefit of the doubt, there are gay activists ready and waiting to take this ruling and run with it.

They bully you with a phoney nice-ness, but underneath is a simmering rage.

We’re now in the endgame of Antonio Gramsci’s and Saul Alinsky's heirs and disciples. These are the murderous great-great-great-great-grandchildren of the French Revolution, cold-eyed with contempt for you and yours; spiral-eyed crazy with hate for what you believe in and possessed of that utterly unappeasable appetite for controlling mankind.

Just as Hitler was completely candid in "Mein Kampf" about what he intended to do with Germany, the Jews and the world, so the Progressive Left has been completely up front about where they intend to take America, how they've planned to do it and what they're going to do once they get there.

So, when it comes to the Constitution and rule of law, it’s only a game - and when they're tired of it, they’ll not only sweep the pieces off the board, they’ll upend the table and put a bullet in you while they’re at it. As far as so-called 'progressives' are concerned, rules are for losers and history - god-awful bloody history - is my witness.

Take a good long look at what’s happening now in America. Then turn around and take another look. If what they're saying doesn't square with what they're doing; if it looks like there's an concerted effort to destroy our once Constitutional Republic and replace it with... something else - then you're probably right. None of what's happening today makes any sense unless you look at it that way - and then it makes a perfectly clear and terrible sort of sense, doesn't it?

You’ve got to understand that you're not going to talk or vote your way out of the tyranny that’s coming your way. And that’s precisely the point of tyranny, isn’t it?

You’ve got understand that the people who've now gotten their hands on the apparatus of the American State would rather rule in Hell than live in peace with the rest of us. They will happily reduce Western civilization to stinking pile of rubble and corpses as long as they believe that they will be the ones sitting on top of the ruins. Why? Because a free and prosperous people cannot be enslaved. They must be broken first.

Folks, the American Catholic Church waved the white flag to Progressive Politics long ago. There are a few bishops who are still Roman Catholic first, but most them - Dolan most prominently - pay lip service to church dogma. The bishops want immigant amnesty and will knuckle under on everything else - abortion, homosexuality and, soon, euthanasia. When Sibelius, who claims to be RC, played one woman death panel the bishops’ response was CRICKETS! When Crazy Nancy calls abortion “sacred ground” and issues a public statement redefining what Roman Catholic means - more Crickets! Stop expecting anything heroic from either pastors or politicians. It ain’t gonna happen!

I think you’re right about the unpleasantness that lies ahead. It’d be difficult enough without Obama. But throw in a president who isn’t shy to demonize Christians or their beliefs and a media only too happy to propagandize his message, and it’s likely to be a rough road. There’s only one thing I can think of that Obama exels at. At that’s to foment a sense of injustice and injury among his special interests. I’ll be surprised if we don’t hear more remarks about the polarizing effects of Christianity similar to those he made in Europe last week.

CWII-- this decision is close to the last straw in terms of wresting control of the law away from the American people in the service of monstrosity.

How long will it be before non-conforming churches are stripped of their tax exemption and then sued for 'discrimination' or 'civil-rights' violations?

People have stopped praying for their priests and bishops. This is a dereliction of duty in itself.

Here's some info abou AGLO I didn't know until I read the linked article:

" AGLO was formed 25 years ago when Cardinal Bernardin forced a split in the local Catholic LGBT community. He offered the existing group Dignity a choice of how to worship in a take-it-or-leave-it approach. Bernardin formed AGLO out of the Archdiocese, and Dignity went in its own direction."

In other words, even the much-maligned Bernardin found the strength and wisdom to banish Dignity (the pro-LGBT group) and establish AGLO (Archdiocesan Gay and Lesbian Outreach) --- which supports chastity in accord with Catholic faith and morals.

I was glad to learn this. Oddly, it did not appear in previous accounts of the sacrileges committed during Cardinal George's Mass.

Satan is gunning for our priests. He has bishops tangled up and muffled in soft servitude (as they say, once you're a bishop, you will never have a bad dinner and you will never be told the truth.)

Our priess and bishops need our prayers so they can man up, return to Christ with their whole heats, and access the strength which is part of their ordination.

PRAY!

**People have stopped praying for their priests and bishops. This is a dereliction of duty in itself.**

Form or join a Serra USA Club in your area. Praying for priests is one of the many things we do. We also get kids going off to college connected with the Newman Centers. We sponsor a Priesthood Sunday and usually make it special for our priest in some way. And there are other prayers. Click on vocations at the site.

I’m going to poke you a bit.....not because I don’t like what you are say.....but because your post frustrates me, and it frustrates me because we are probably very close politically and morally in the way we’d like things to be.

“Revolt is coming.”

You keep repeating this. In this thread and others. Is this a mantra you recite, trying to convince yourself things will get better? Do you mean to say “I pray revolt is coming?” If so, we are in ageement, and I am frustrated that I and my fellow citizens have allowed our republic to sink to this low.

Or do you have specific knowledge of when & where the revolt will begin? Who will be it’s leaders? Who can I rally around? And if you have such specific knowledge, what’s to say the government doesn’t have it as well.....and will arrest you and the other leaders before it even starts?

Maybe you are a government agent provacateur.....trying to get someone to act unwisely and start something. Maybe I am.

Who do we trust? Who do we rally around? And what about Romans 13? I believe the one thing that gave our original revolution legitimacy in the eyesof God is that it was our “local” elected government fighting to protect us from a “distant” tyranny. I’m not gonna pick up a gun and go kill a fellowcitizen because I want to start a revolution. But, my local government rebelling against national tyranny.....as many local sheriffs have begun to do.....yeah, I might go stand with those guys.

Please think.....and be more specific....when posting. Because this is the kind of stuff that your post leads to. And like the author of the article, I’m starting to get pretty darned scared, too.
