At the very least, the universe is exquisitely fine-tuned.
About as much as TNT.

Would anyone have ever come up with an unprovable “theory” like the multverse if they weren’t just trying to avoid the inescapeable implications of the anthropic priciple? (ie. the fine tuning of the universe.) I think we all know the answer to that.

“But there is not a shred of evidence of the existence of these other universes nor could there be, since contact with another universe is impossible.”
I find it extremely ironic that the only way atheists can explain away the existence of a supernatural creation is to put faith in something else that is completely unobservable.
the naturalist believes that beneath every natural phenomenon there exists yet another natural phenomenon. If explanation by reference to an endless stack of large turtles is silly, then an explanation by reference to an endless stack of natural phenomena would be equally so. The naturalist's answer for the origin of life, therefore, is some natural phenomenon. (Which one is not particularly relevant.) When you ask them how that natural phenomenon came to be, their response boils down to: "It's natural phenomena all the way down!"

That is the argument of the Bible. That man is engaged in a conversation with the Creator.

I seriously hope that the multiverse exists.
If it doesn't exist then God is simply losing to Satan.
To: Mr. K
Atheists must be retarded if they think a multiverse disproves God. A multiverse results in the existence of everything which would mean a 100% probability for the existence of God.
These dimwits have to spend so much effort bragging about how 'smart' they are compared to us because in reality they have nothing to show for it!
To: BwanaNdege
The Multiverse theory is just a newer variant of the old a million monkeys typing for a million years could produce the works of Shakespeare argument. Hope & Change Anything to keep from having to acknowledge God.
Nope! That's just what retarded atheists like to say. Evidence for a multiverse is automatically evidence for God.
To: job
No, you miss the point. First and foremost, we are here, I had to be at work by 8:30, so, we do exist. Acknowledging that we exist, you start to focus in on the window of parameters that must exist for us to be. As the article says, for that to happen by chance, would be like to hit a 1mm bullseye from across the universe (it does not say whether the thrower was actually targeting the bullseye or not). So, because we are here, and because all of the parameters have to be so finely tuned that it eliminates tuning by chance, the only alternative is that the fine tuning was designed.
Not to detract from the argument but this universe is a pretty chaotic and disgusting place.
To: Robert DeLong
Belief in multiverse requires faith, as there is no proof of multiple universes. What a tangled web they are weaving all in the name of dispelling faith.
Just because atheists like to use M-theory as ammunition against God doesn't mean it is. You need to think for yourself and not take their word for it. Multiverse automatically gives God infinite power, including the power to triumph over all the damage done by the fallen.

What an impeccable line of reasoning.
Tell us how you made the jump from one to the other.

Multiverse automatically gives God infinite power, including the power to triumph over all the damage done by the fallen. And why can't God do that with one universe?
Multiverse doesn't automatically give God infinite power.
He already has it because He is God.
I'd love to know what passes for reasoning in your corner of the world.

Objectivity points to God from every angle.
One must get very subjective to write God out of his creation.

Fascinating fare
mom, leading to all sorts of speculation why a significant portion of Mankind cannot bring themselves to admitting that Man does not, and can never, control the universe.
Thanks for the ping.

This means that if the energies of the Big Bang were, in arbitrary units, not: 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
But instead:
1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000001
There would be no life of any sort in the entire universe.
In spite of the fine tuning, life is extremely rare.

It’s actually really simple. Not everyone is going to heaven. Billions of people will remain lost when they die. If inter-universe replicas of people don’t exist then the fallen world and Satan have totally claimed those souls for their tally.
To: SeekAndFind
The multiverse hypothesis is a contrived attempt to reconcile our elegant reality with blind chance, at odds with our universal observation that reality follows one path or another, but not all paths.
Have you ever met a leftist? Are you telling me that those insane and worthless minds were specially created?
Random chance is required for the existence of free will and for the existence of things in this world which God does not like.
