Intolerance in The Name of 'Tolerance' Should be Condemned
Vatican Radio ^ | 5/27/13

(Vatican Radio) The Vatican Secretariat of State issued a tweet on Monday: “Intolerance against Christians, especially in the name of ‘tolerance’, should be condemned publicly.”

The tweet referenced a Statement of the Holy See delivered by Bishop Mario Toso, SDB, at the High Level Conference on Tolerance and Non-discrimination (including Human Rights Youth Education), which took place May 21-22 in Tirana, Albania.

The Conference was held under the auspices of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

Since the last High Level Conference, Bishop Toso said, “examples of intolerance and discrimination against Christians have not diminished, but rather increased in various parts of the OSCE region.”

Bishop Toso denounced attempts to divide religious belief from religious practice. Christians, he said, are told “they can believe whatever they like in their own homes or heads, and largely worship as they wish in their own private churches, but they simply cannot act on those beliefs in public.” This distinction, he went on, “is a deliberate twisting and limiting of what religious freedom actually means.”

In the Holy See’s statement, Bishop Toso identified two particular areas of intolerance against Christians: intolerance of Christian speech, and intolerance with regard to Christian conscience, particularly in the workplace. Discrimination against Christians, he said, “even where they are a majority – must be faced as a serious threat to the whole of society – and therefore should be fought, as it is done, and rightly so, in the case of anti-Semitism and Islamophobia.”

Bishop Toso said, “Intolerance in the name of ‘tolerance’ must be named for what it is and publically condemned. To deny religiously informed moral argument a place in the public square is intolerant and anti-democratic.”

I garrantee that God will not be tolerate against sin to make someone feel good and included. The standard by which we live is Christ by His Grace. It’s a fight to stand agInst unrighteousness come what may.

A very great historian in 1888 gave an interesting twist on the meaning of “Tolerance” for our time: “Tolerance” the inability to take a stand, the inability to say Yes or No.”

Is this actually what he said, or just what the media clowns reported?

Distinguishing between belief and action is an obvious corollary to religious freedom. For example, you're allowed to believe that God wants you to perform human sacrifices or take a dozen wives or not pay any taxes or whatever, but you don't get to act on those beliefs. Surely someone as educated as the good bishop is well aware of this rather basic point.

Any Religion that harms of kills apostates should be considered a dangerous cult and should be trated as such.

Any Religion that uses the treat of physical violence to convert people to it should be considered a dangerous cult and should be trated as such.

Any Religion that considers members of another Religion as less than human should be considered a dangerous cult and should be trated as such.

The Word: Nice

Origin of NICE

Middle English, foolish, wanton, from Anglo-French, silly, simple, from Latin nescius ignorant, from nescire not to know — more at nescience
First Known Use: 14th century

Nice = Foolish..

Interesting. I always like etymology as “kind of fun.”

He's not talking about "human sacrifice". He's talking specifically about Christianity.

Attempts by temporal authorities to restrict the practice of Christian virtue and the freedom of Christians are not new and historically have come from pagan or officially atheistic rulers.

History also tells us that this never ends well.
