I practice my faith at a Maronite Catholic Church. What's so difficult to understand? The child - only 3 - has memorized the prayers, albeit in Spanish, and derives joy in 'celebrating' the mass. We hear his parents give the responses. How different is that from someone with no understanding of Latin, attending a TLM?
Thats the problem with the post-Vatican II Novus Ordo mass in the vernacular: it varies so from country to country (as well as from parish to parish in the US) that when one is visiting its impossible to determine what is being said.
Just curious; were you born before or after VC II?
Not sick at all! How many catholics today understand that, in an emergency, they can perform this sacrament for the dying? In fact, in our secularized society, many so called "catholics" neglect to have their children baptized at all. That knowledge given to you in second grade is a beautiful gift. Perhaps some day, you may be the one who is responsible for a dying person entering the Kingdom of God.
Born long before Vatican II.
I finally got my video player to work. That truly is remarkable. I have sent it to our associate Pastor who is from Colombia and who is serving here in his first year as a priest.
Thank you! How wonderful!
My wife’s cousin also “celebrated Mass” as a kid. He used Necco wafers for the host.
And yes, he went on to become a priest.
He is going to love it!!!
