A dear friend introduced me to Dave Hunt over 30 years ago and I have read and heard so much.

His accomplishments are too numerous to list.

Go to the website and research/download some of what he's done.

Prayers for all whom knew him to respond as Dave has always taught ... he's home now.

A wonderful man and a great scholar. I met him several years ago. Am pleased that he has finished the job and joined his Lord. What a long and excellent life he lived. We will miss him.

Dave was instrumental in helping make significant corrections in many erroneous beliefs in my life. A great warrior, swimming against the current of much of popular (but false) trends in evangelicalism, he was always considerate, but unbending in is exposition of the truth. He’ll be missed.

Got to be a little clearer, please. This is not Colonel David Hunt, who’s appeared on Fox and talk radio. It’s a religious writer a lot of us have never heard of. RIP anyway.

He was an anti-Catholic bigot. I hope he repented before he died.

Nice jerky response full of arrogance.

Thanks for the nice jerky response full of arrogance to my simple request for clarity.

Actually full of truth. Most people have never EVER heard of Dave Hunt - and for good reason. He was a lousy “scholar”, accomplished little of real note in his life and influenced people primarily on the edges of orthodox Christianity because of his own heresies and malicious habits.

Nice jerky response ,.......

**************

Maybe so but that doesn’t take away from the posit that the poster could have been more clear and gave some background on the deceased.

Was his lousy scholarship related to his unwillingness to bow the knee to images of Mary (or her supposed likeness), offer her (it?) prayers and flowers, and many similar man-made traditions your pope and followers do?

Or were his “malicious” habits similar to those who go around slandering the recently deceased?

Thanks for clarifying, x.

Colonel Hunt has done great work exposing the Benghazi hoax - it would be a shame if he had been the one who passed.

Why would one be so opposed to honoring the Mother of Our Lord? Common sense tells you that He would appreciate it.

For some reason this thread reminds me of Bart Simpson... Oh wait, that was Mike.

He never missed a chance to slander a Catholic living or dead including wringing his hands over how horrible it was that anyone would say John Paul II was Christian when he died.

It's time to backstroke on the false umbrage or recognize the truth which is that Hunt was a plagiarizing, anti-Catholic, faux scholar, who changed what he preached as the truth a half dozen times in the past thirty years to fit changes in the market.

Hunt regurgitated the lies and fantasies of Alexander Hislop which proves Hunt wasn't even honest much less a scholar.

I'm not feeling the love, here.

You wrote:

His lousy scholarship concerned his shoddy understanding of history, scripture, philosophy, and science. Other than that he was fine.

“Or were his “malicious” habits similar to those who go around slandering the recently deceased?”

It’s not slander if it’s true. I spoke the same truth about him when he was very much alive. The death of a man is not give an end to speaking the truth about him.
