It was a Dublin jury who aquitted a few anti-war protesters that did $2 million in damage to a U.S. C-130 shipping supplies to our troops in Iraq a few years ago. That is true. But the IRA does not control govt in the Republic. The Republic has/had little use for the IRA in recent times. The IRA was as much a threat to the Republic as to the UK.
