I wonder what impression this leaves to those who have never read the Bible before? Will bring more people to God?

It will do just the opposite. It reveals that those who claim to be Christians and believe the Bible do not think the stories are good enough and need embellishing.

Many outright falsehoods are included. What would those outside of Christianity think of this?

That's my concern. Christianity is being split into two different camps.

One side views God the same way as read in the bible the other side wants to change God into their own image. Look at the mega pastors and how they are changing the meaning of what is said in the bible. Rob Bell comes to mind.
