Read correspondence between bishops and Equalities Minister
This week the bishops' conference of England and Wales published its correspondence with Maria Miller, Minister for Women and Equalities, on the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill.
The Government rejected proposed amendments by the Church to its gay marriage Bill, and said the new definition of marriage will have to be taught in Catholic schools.
The Church suggested a number of amendments to the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill during a meeting with Culture Minister Maria Miller in January.
In a letter to Archbishop Smith that was released yesterday, Ms Miller said teachers in Catholic schools will need to reflect the fact that 'marriage is open to both opposite and same sex couples.'

Also, does it matter WHAT they teach about it?
i’d teach why catholic theology regards it being wicked, sinful behavior. easy enough to do given they are catholic. they can’t teach stuff that contradicts their theology.
While I don’t think they should be forced to teach anything about gay marriage I don’t know how they could get around it without looking like fools.
They should teach it from the view that it is now legal in the law of man but still not approved of by God. Same as abortion and other sins that are legal.
Well that’s a direct command to violate revelation. Marriage by definition cannot exist between people of the same sex. To suggest otherwise would be to abandon the words of Christ. It would change fundementally the Christian concepts of God as we know him to be in scripture and tradition.
Looks like Catholics will get martyred in England too.
Our Catholic school already teaches about homosexuality and abortion. They teach its wrong.

The Bible says they deserve death, not state coerced praise.
We will teach that sodomy is sodomy, regardless as to what the law says.
Marriage between same-sex couples is satan’s mischief through the utilization of a corrupt media and political system. Sodomist went from closet mental cases to openly perverted mental cases.
Of course it makes perfect sense to teach all about the ritual of same-sex lovemaking: don’t forget the part about where one of the partners shoves their face up the other’s anus in order to ingest fecal matter. And don’t forget the part about the fact that behaving as a sodomite during your life has an impact on your sanity.
Interestingly those that think that sodomists should be pedestalized also believe in global warming and in a central socialist government.
Amazing how fast a nation once richly blessed can degenerate.
