`The God-Factor in Science` ~ Concepts (2-9-2013)

////////“Everything I have said and done in these last years is relativism by intuition…. If relativism signifies contempt for fixed categories and men who claim to be bearers of an objective, immortal truth… then there is nothing more relativistic than fascistic attitudes and activity…. From the fact that all ideologies are of equal value, that all ideologies are mere fictions, the modern relativist infers that everybody has the right to create for himself his own ideology and to attempt to enforce it with all the energy of which he is capable.”

Mussolini, Diuturna pp. 374-77, quoted in A Refutation of Moral Relativism: Interviews with an Absolutist (Ignatius Press; 1999), by Peter Kreeft, p. 18.

Again, let us see what another person who may understand the complexities of the issue a bit more than John shows us, and that is Malcolm Muggeridge (a British journalist, author, satirist, media personality, soldier-spy and, in his later years, a Catholic convert and writer), who said:

///////“If God is ‘dead,’ somebody is going to have to take his place. It will be megalomania or erotomania, the drive for power or the drive for pleasure, the clenched fist or the phallus, Hitler or Hugh Heffner.”

Ravi Zacharias, The Real Face of Atheism (Grand Rapids, MI: Baker Books, 2004), 32.

I haven't had time to keep up with the article I include in a series on my blog. I try to critique the articles of John van Huizum that appear in the "Country Journal of Agua Dulce and Acton," a local small "zine" (magazine).

I did have some time today to correct some of John's thoughts in a recent article about God and science. It is long... in-depth... with audio and videos added for affect and points made. If someone takes the time to read this post and listen to the accompanying media, they should have a good handle on how to begin to respond to skeptics in their life.

Enjoy, SeanG.

I was a Christian by birth, but awe of the Almighty really came to me as a student of science in college. And most of the evils in the world seem to me as a rejection of God in favor of Darwin, so I can relate to the author.
