Why do Catholics allow this? Doesn’t the congregation mean anything to the leaders?
For bishops like Dolan, No.
What matters to Dolan is being “in” with Democrats. He has praised pro-abortion Democrats repeatedly as “good Christians” and “good Catholics.” He flatters himself that he has the “virtue” of “civility,” while the truth is that he just can’t get enough of snuggling up to people with power, who dispense government money.
He is a politician before he is a bishop, and Democrat before he is a Catholic.
Cardinal Dolan is too interested in his legacy in the NY Times. We will never forget his inviting a mass murderer,Obama to dinner.
A majority of Catholics voted for Obama...again. The leaders of the Catholic church are acting in line with flock.
The problem is the Catholic church is liberal. Aside from abortion, it is leftist on many/most major political issues.
Don't let the Catholic church's complaints about the healthcare mandate fool you. They may be riled up over that specific issue, but it won't stop them from loving and supporting Obama on nearly everything else.
I don't think it's indifference to the congregation, but quite the opposite. Our clergy, by and large, stand where their people do--- and that's the problem. They are "people pleasers" when when this is offensive to Almighty God.
Yes, of course.
Why do you think Cuomo and Pelosi, Biden and Durbin, haven't been excommunicated?
The shepherds are afraid.
A free vote on abortion with only Catholics voting? It would pass, easily.
