The Psalmist asked, “Why do the wicked prosper, while the righteous suffer?” The prophet Habakkuk asked virtually the same question in his day as he witnessed his homeland overrun with the invading armies of the Chaldeans. Initially, from Habakkuk’s perspective, he did not see God’s hand in the suffering of his people. Where was the Judge of all the earth during this time of injustice, he wondered. Here Dr. Sproul explains how God’s providence and suffering go hand and hand.

Someone told me about this message and I had to send it to my FRiends. The parallels between Habakkuk and the righteous Christ followers of today are striking.

The scriptures used are in the tiny book of the name of the prophet. Amazing.

>The parallels between Habakkuk and the righteous Christ followers of today are striking.<

.
Isn’t it a bit arrogant and selfrighteous to compare the the followers of Christ today with the righteous living in the time of Habakkuk?

Many of our “righteous” who display a fish on their cars, show the slogan ‘Keep Christ in Christmas’ and ‘Proud to be a Catholic’, including their religious leaders, voted for the wrong person on 11/6/2012.

Now, reap the whirlwind.

No, I don’t think it is arrogant at all. If you listen to the message you will understand exactly the point.

The message is not a new one...I think RC preached it sometime ago, but it is incredibly relevant.

I’ve read Habbakkuk several times, but he is such a “minor” prophet, we forget his story.

I won’t forget it now.

Don't forget that As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one" (Ro 3:10). As believers, we have been imputed the righteousness of Christ. That doesn't mean that everybody who displays a fish or a Christian bumper sticker is truly a believer. To them, Jesus will say "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!" (Matt 7:23). But don't let that make you question the righteousness of born-again believers.

The theme for the Ligonier Conference this spring, in Orlando, is 'No Compromise' with reference to Daniel.

Amazing roster of speakers, I've heard many of them!

Sproul is the tops for me, with Sinclair Ferguson also!..Ravi Zacharias.......Great men of God.

Tell you what, jg. If you pay $2 (or less, if you buy the whole series) and think the message on Habbakkuk isn’t worth the price, I will PERSONALLY reimburse you—I’ll send it to you myself.

No joke.

SFF.

BTW, once you “buy” the message, you can access it forever. I wish RC’s message was on youtube, I think it is that important.

Dear So Flo Freeper- I like RC Sproul. I do not think he is a crook either. Things are expensive today. I already had a dream from the same Holy Spirit Habakkuk got his inspiration. Not good. It is in the bottom of my profile page. May God Bless us during the national coming storm. I know it without a doubt. That’s my belief. Freeper Cheers in Christ.

The “Farce” quote was my intial reaction of not being able to obtain the information without cost. I do not understand the method of raising money.
