Anglican Head Rowan Williams Backs Gun Control in US

The outgoing Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, talked about the recent Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown, Conn., discounting the argument put forward, including by many Christians in the United States, that "it's not guns that kill, it's people."

"People use guns. But in a sense guns use people, too. When we have the technology for violence easily to hand, our choices are skewed and we are more vulnerable to being manipulated into violent action," the leader of the world's 80 million-strong Anglican Communion said, delivering BBC Radio 4's "Thought for the Day" on Saturday.

Far too many of these supposedly Christian leaders are absolute idiots when it comes to stuff like gun control and social justice issues. All too often they align themselves with the secular socialist left...and then wonder why Western Christianity is under constant attack (by the very same liberal politicians they keep supporting).

Again, let me suggest that on Williams departure from his current job, he return to his first love, moving to Stonehenge and running around naked in the local forest with flowers in his hair. I was just watching some Youtube clips. Woody Allen had a tête-à-tête as it were, with WF Buckley circa late 1967/early 1968.

Buckley made a reference comparing liberalism and LBJ to a some [forgotten] woman that went something like "she helped bring socialism to Britain after WWII, then prompted abandoned the resulting ashes for France."

Pampered “celebrities” who, each and every one, have and do presently make a lavish living acting in or producing the most violent, blood and gore, slash and shoot-’em-up “films” imaginable, and then have the gall to demand in turn that we produce a plan to end violence...

And imagine further, the “plan” these hypocrits “demand” mostly involves all of the rest of us disarming...

While they will continue as before, living secure in their gated communities, and traveling with an entourage of armed bodyguards...

The rest of us should demand that these “celebrities” and “experts” all STFU!

Rowan makes two mistakes:

1. This then outlaws the "technology" of martial arts and boxing and also not only knives but even sticks or stones or bricks. It also means that a big guy like me should be "outlawed" too
   
2. In a no-guns society, the ones with the guns are criminals. in a free-gun society, the criminals will be wary because good people can fire back...
