Interesting discussion yesterday with a variety of opinions. Just curious what some here might believe and why...
Sci Fi author James Blish wrote a series of novels with this plot. Been 40+ years since i read them but they were interesting and even posited a way humanity could destroy demons. The best line I remember is a priest seeks to exorcise Satan and is defeated and says that it’s impossible since it is written that heaven shall overcome darkness and Satan responds that in war both sides write propoganda to serve their interest. Some here will find the stories blasphemous but I found Blish an interesting read.

Good points... I’m certain they are aware of the prophecy. Yet they are in rebellion as if they don’t accept it. ?? But I like the text you posted. The text gives us some insight.

No, satan knows full well he was defeated by Christ at the Cross and because of the resurrection. Now, it’s just sheer, unmitigated hatred and trying to take all he can with him into hell.
In the Biblical account its simply astounding that 1/3 of the angels in heaven went along with the demented Lucifer and got kicked out of the glorious heaven.

Anyway, Rabbi Eli Schmitt, has occasion to ask Satan about his plans in person.

Satan gently responds, “But I have to try, Rabi, it is what I do.” then kills him.
It would make you think that even if Lucifer didn’t believe he could defeat God... those angels that followed him did.
Does Satan believe he can defeat God.?
Not sure ,but right now in the USA he is doing a pretty fair job of it.
Now maybe it isn’t a real fight in that God may have just given up on us, but with all of the wins by the ACLU and school prayer and crosses and nativity sets, with the Homo in chief filling our military,and same sex marriage, I would say the battles are going in favor of satan right now.
It would be nice if God took a hand in this game, and soon.
But then we don’t know his real plan, maybe he is waiting for us to take a hand in CW2.
First of all define what you mean by win or lose.
What is Satan’s mission?
To destroy God’s creation?
If that is the case than doesn’t Armageddon achieve that goal?
Glad you posted this - I’m discouraged today (world events plus a sprained ankle!) and seeing this headline made me remember what’s going on. Thank you!
Satan was the first evolutionist, thinking he could evolve beyond God. See Isaiah 14.
The real question is, will evil people defeat the good people? Will good people just accept the power of the evil ones even though they far outnumber them? Good people never start wars, the evil ones do, and its usually the good who suffer and lose the most. Its mostly about up bringing, and the environment you grow up in. Don’t blame the Devil for evil, blame complicity and apathy.
