The Shroud of Turin The Holographic Experience (1 Minute Amazing Video)
Shroud 3D.com ^ | Dr. Petrus Soons

Posted on 11/17/2012 11:28:19 AM PST by GonzoII

This website summarizes work connected with digitizing Shroud photographs taken by Giuseppe Enrie in 1931, enhancing the digitized images to improve details, translating the enhanced images “gray scale data into depth data”, generating a sequence of up to 625 images of each of these, and combining these images with a Holoprinter to produce holograms (3D images) of the Shroud. It also summarizes my study of these holograms and discovery of heretofore unseen details, which confirm many previous findings and reveal some suprises.

Notice as the Lord's face turns that his beard under his chin is in a wave going back toward his neck and pressed up under his chin as if by wrappings.

I never noticed before what appears to be a heavily piped tunic collar.

What I think I can see is the swelling on the bridge on His nose, as if it had been broken by a blow or a fall. It also looks like there is a small part of His beard missing, maybe pulled?

I wish they had the same images for the rest of the body. I struggled to look at the right shoulder and maybe there's evidence of bruising by the weight of the cross.

Before anybody starts making fan of me, let me mention that I am not Roman Catholic, but as a chemistry graduate student I got a chance to listen to the head of the team that analyzed the Shroud in the late 70s or early 80s (my memory is not so good these days). I don't have any doubt that is THE shroud!

I was wondering that as well. And were coins placed over the eyes?

If you check out some other images he has on his site you can see that the hair is pulled back like a braid and the sides of his hair is hanging long beside his face (curled?) just the way the Orthodox Jews ware it today. The”hard shell” Jews never change anything.

Thanks! I know it’s just movies, but I’ve often wondered why they almost always represent the common people with short hair and Jesus with long hair. It never crossed my mind that it was the locks of an observant Jew!

His features look more like that of a western European than that of a Middle-Eastern Jew.

I’ve always believed the Shroud of Turin to be a clever artist’s hoax from the Middle Ages, and this does nothing to change my mind.

You might want to look into it a bit further. Try Ian Wilson’s “The Blood and the Sword”. It’s an interesting detective story.

“His features look more like that of a western European than that of a Middle-Eastern Jew”

If he was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, then I’d say deconstructing hypothetical DNA would be rather a waste of time, wouldn’t you?

“His features look more like that of a western European than that of a Middle-Eastern Jew”

Your error is to compare what you think a "Middle-Eastern Jew" now looks like with what a Middle Eastern Jew would have looked like 2000 years ago. That region of the world has had more people from different places sweeping through it over the centuries than any other place. Tell me, how close do Ashenazi Jews resemble Sephardic Jews?

Have you ever thought of the possibility of western Europeans being of Israeli decent? The Bible says often in the Old Testament that they would be dispersed throughout the world. Maybe with a heavier concentration in Europe? Many races have those in their race that are lighter than others. The Jews of today look more like Europeans than any other race. Their detractors accuse them of not being real Jews because they look so Caucasian, without realizing that it is likely that many of the Caucasians are of the same decent. The name Labin, Abraham's nephew, Rebekkah's brother, and Rachel and Leah's father, actually means white. Names often denoted something unique about the individual with the name in ancient times.

"And were coins placed over the eyes?"

I can't concieve of observant Jews performing such a pagan practice as that.

“It also looks like there is a small part of His beard missing, maybe pulled?”

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but hasn’t the beard been described before as a two-part beard or “forked” beard? Perhaps was the conventional way in that society?
