I don’t belong to a denomination, as a result of my Mormonism, I abhor denominationalism.
I attend an independent, Evangelical, Bible believing, non-denominational church.
Evangelical covers many churches some outside of denominations.
what denomination are you? Since you are so hung up on labels.
I beg your pardon?
If I was a member of the Evangelical Free denomination, you're telling the world that's not a church?
The true body of Christ is flesh and blood, not brick & mortar (not a building), and not primarily "institutional".
The Greek word for "church" is ecclesia (also spelled ekklesia)...it literally means "called-out ones."
So, I'm a "called-out one" -- part of the universal flesh-and-blood Body of Christ, and I associate more with fellow Evangelicals than non-Evangelicals, tho I recognize great diversity in that Body of Christ.
Evangelicals have indeed formally banded together as part of the Body of Christ. They formally banded together in 1942 to found the National Asso. of Evangelicals. Just because you might not recognize them as part of the wider Body of Christ, doesn't mean we have to honor your slight.
