How Christians Should Respond to Obama’s Re-Election
The Christian Diarist ^ | November 8, 2012 | JP

Posted on 11/08/2012 11:34:48 AM PST by CHRISTIAN DIARIST

As I join my fellow Christ followers in lamenting the re-election of a president whose policies have been decidedly unGodly, I am reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul.

“Let every soul,” he instructed, “be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.”

What that means is that sovereign God, in His divine wisdom, has permitted Barack Obama to rule our troubled land another four years.

Just as He allowed Pharoah to rule Egypt during the time of Moses; Ahab to rule Israel during the time of Elijah; and Belshazzar to rule Babylon during the time of Daniel.

That God allowed those wicked men to govern in no way meant He overlooked their unrepentant sinfulness.

Indeed, He brought ten plagues upon Pharoah’s Egypt, the last of which took the life of the ruler’s first-born son.

Ahab was mortally wounded by a random arrow and died ignominiously as dogs lapped up his blood.

And Belshazarr was slain, and his kingdom lost to his enemies, after God passed judgment on him – the proverbial writing on the wall.

The point is that God is on the throne. That he rules over all the kingdoms and the nations. That in His hand there is power and might. And that no one, not even the putative “leader of the free world,” is able to withstand Him.

So, much as it pains this evangelical Christian, I accept that Barack Obama is our nation’s duly re-elected president. And I do not challenge his governing authority over me and my house.

However, just because the mass of voters returned Obama to the White House for another four years doesn’t mean that same-sex marriage is no longer an abomination; that abortion is no longer murder; that God no longer has a place in public life.

And no matter the outcome of the presidential election, I believe it the duty of Christ followers to “speak truth to power.” To raise our voices in dissent when our elected leaders pass laws and pursue policies which clearly are contrary to God’s supreme law.

I count myself among the more than half of Americans who, according to Election Day exit polls, believe that our nation is “on the wrong track.” I also attribute the social and economic morass in which our country currently finds itself to our governing authorities, who have turned away from God.

That is why it is up to the Christian faithful to stand in the gap for America the next four years. To pray, unceasingly, that our president, who professes himself Christian, will actually govern like a true Christian.

For God has promised, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Let not our hearts be troubled, but pray that God will raise up an indisputably Christian candidate that can and will win the White House four years from now.

Define Christian.

Indicate if Mormons are part of the set defined.

As much as I’d love to have a true Christian raised up to become president, I doubt that those who have voted for the liar-in-chief, would change their vote. I also believe that we are under the judgment of God with this election. I’m sorry, as a Christian, I refuse to submit myself to this godless man - and I also can’t bring myself to pray for him. I prayed for his ouster, and my prayers were denied.

Maybe I’m a sore loser, but I just don’t believe this was an honest election.

From the little I've learned so far, God seems to be good about giving people LOTS of chances and often a fair amount of time and opportunity to make mistakes, learn and come back to Him.

Or not, and deal with the corrections and negative feedback that comes from those mistakes and learning opportunities.

We have chosen the latter, the corrections and negative feedback part, and went with the prideful guy with the haughty spirit.

Let the lessons begin!

Maybe the masses, enough of them, will come to their senses after economic collapse

“be subject to the governing authorities”

That we are a nation whose governing authority is WE the People sets us apart from the kings of past eras and generations. We have every right, endowed by our Creator, to pursue our happiness and liberty. We are NOT subjects of Obama as Christians, we ARE subjects of the Constitution. That is the truth and it is our Christian right and duty to stand up for truth. We should fight the good fight against anyone who wants to cast down the constitution, otherwise we are supporting a lie.

Obamunism is God’s punishment on American for the murder of 60 million innocent unborn children, and for theincreasingly decadent, materialistic, and greedy culture that enabled those murders.

As a free and sovereign people Honor and respect are earned not given.

Rom 13:7
Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.

I do not honor Mr. Obama, I do on the other hand fear him.

Yet the Hebrew midwives, fearing God, refused to follow the Pharoah’s command to kill the first born of Egypt. Pharoah ended up having to send soldiers to do it instead. Were the midwives wrong in disobeying the governing authorities?

So much for trotting out the “Christian duty to obey Government” verse. Perhaps our forefathers who founded this nation were in error in defying the British King?

Should the Early Christians have disobeyed the Ceasars by infact remaining Christians?

Christ said render to Caesar what is Caesar’s and render to God what is God’s. Wisdom is needed to know which is which.

What about the apostles who were charged by governing officials not to preach Christ, who never the less replied...”We ought not obey man’s law but God’s law!”? Did they violate god’s command to obey the governing officials?

Obama has set the government’s apparatus to support what is evil in terms of abortion, gay rights, and the use of envy to divide the nation. He has attempted to set this nation’s face against Israel. When he did these things, he put the nation in the cross hairs of God’s wrath, and unfortunately the good as well as the evil are going to suffer for it!

I prayed that Obama’s shadowy pasts details would be exposed and that Obama’s and his ilks lies, deceptions, skulduggery, ungodliness and constitutional violations would be exposed for all to see. I also prayed that Mitt,Ryan and the Republican Office seekers would be elected. When same didn’t happen I got depressed and mad at God. That didn’t last for long and I’m back praying for Obama’s Evil to be revealed for all to see.

I trust in almighty God and I know that Obama and his gang will feel God’s Holy Wrath, sooner rather than later.

” - - - Maybe I’m a sore loser, but I just don’t believe this was an honest election “

No, it was not.

Christians are not supposed to just roll over and give up, or to be ignorant of what is going on.

There is one hard-working long-time organization which has been on this case - www.blackboxvoting.ORG

This is a place to start to learn what fraud is and all the ways they are committing it. They say their most busy time is AFTER the election, looking for all the FRAUD that went on.

Their big problem is the bad side is getting better at covering their tracks, getting laws passed so that NO ONE can look at any results till after 45 days - wow. I think that just happened in Colorado.

It had been on my meditations that perhaps it would be easier to bring the bad bunch up on treason if they were still and again elected. Can only wish.

God allows free will. God allows sin to occur. God allows allows satan and his minions to run amuck. I don’t see God’s hand in this election unless .. He is punishing us for our couuntry’s sins. Perhaps we deserve obama. :-)

God is sovereign in that he oversees all of creation and occasonally intervenes. But there is no evidence he micromanages his creation all the time. No evidence God actively placed obama in power. But God did passively allow it to happen.

Screw barack hussein obama. If that makes me a sinner in some people’s eyes then so be it.

I am a sore loser...and the election was indeed rigged.....

and I'm not in the frame of mind to find any thing Christian good about it...it was horrid...it was a sound defeat to anyone with morality or ethics or common sense...

prayer is good, great infact...God is God and we are not...

but if anyone thinks sitting around praying is going to do a lick of good, then they are the true sheeple...going to the gas chambers....

pray but pass the ammunition....

God gave us free will to figure these things out...he gave us minds and hearts and emotions ....

for God's sake, and our own, START USING HIS GIFTS in the proper way to defeat the enemy...

They could still be brought up on treason charges, but they cannot escape God’s Judgment, when it occurs.

I am very much afraid that voter fraud played a very big role in this election.

Another fear I have is that we may be much closer to a second civil war.
