A group of Jews that ascended the Temple Mount Sunday were shocked to see that ancient beams of wood that had apparently been used during the period of the Holy Temple were being used as firewood by Arabs on the Mount, and off it. Archaeologists have dated the wood as far back as the First Temple period, and appear to be among the celebrated Cedars of Lebanon mentioned in the Tanach.

razing the dome you mean
I’d sure love to have a tiny chip of wood from those wooden pillars!
It makes me so sad and angry that someone would destroy an ancient artifact like this.
What a shame. Muslim Arabs should never have been allowed close to this site. They have no right to occupy it in spite of their fictional account of Mohammed’s spiritual visit there on his flying horse.
Well, that’s what moslems do.
Fear not! His time approaches!

Battle Hymn of the Republic
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:
His truth is marching on.
(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps,
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps:
His day is marching on.
(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His day is marching on.
I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel:
As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel,
Since God is marching on.
(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Since God is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat:
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.
(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Our God is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.
(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
While God is marching on.
He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is Wisdom to the mighty, He is Succour to the brave,
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of Time His slave,
Our God is marching on.
(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Our God is marching on.
They’ll glow in the dark soon.
No one did anything after they destroyed ancient tombs holy to Judaism a few years ago, so of course they would do this.
There are people in this country who support giving them half of Jerusalem.
It’s about time for the state of Israel to get rid of these enemies within their own borders. Then they should dismantle and destroy that gold flaked aberation that sits above the Jewish horizon. If they don’t get rid of islam it will kill them.....that is it’s goal!

They didn't build all of this without destroying much of their own history. If this is how they treat their 1st most holy site on Earth, imagine what they could do with their 3rd most holy site?
First, where do these beams come from? From the mosque structure itself. They were removed during renovations.
The beams had been used in the roof structure of the mosque, and already at that time they were said to be thousands of years old by archaeologists preserved only because they had been used in the building.
But the mosque is not thousands of years old. Given that when the mosque was made, the Temple had been destroyed centuries previous, the Arabs would have been unable to use building materials from the vanished first Temple. All the structures on Temple Mount were destroyed after the reign of Roman Emperor Julian the Apostate, but their remains were there - remains of the Second Temple, the Churches and the Roman Temples which were on the site in the early Christian era.
Some of the beams were dated to the first Temple period
They cannot have been, because no archaeologist has ever claimed to have found a single artifact of that era. The search is still on.
others to Roman times, and at least one beam was found to have Byzantine-era designs etched on it.
These sound like beams from the early Christian era.
So - what is happening to them?
After the beams were removed from the mosque, they were stored in a museum on the Mount. However, in recent years the beams were moved to a corner of the Mount, open to the elements and archaeologists fear that exposure to winter rain and summer sun will be their undoing. Some of the beams were taken out several years ago, and more have been spotted in recent months. Reports said that the Arabs, who have been trying for years to ger rid of the beams, have begun burning them.
Reports may say that, but it is not real evidence.
Now, many of the beams have been placed at what appears to be a dumping ground ... Jewish groups that visited the Mount saw the beams being moved, but reported that the Arabs forbade them to take photos of the activity.
This seems like vague hearsay. But if the historical beams (which no doubt have nothing to do with First Temple) have been removed to a dumping ground, then obviously, anyone can sneak in, and grab some of them. Or grab all of them.
I sure am glad you are here to straighten out them silly ignorant Jews in Israel! what do they know?

Hard to tell from the reports and counter-reprts what is really going, on other than that Muslims are destroying things.
Again.
This is the repayment for the tolerant treatment of islamic dung.
Muslims are pigs - all of them - no exception.
NOT ONCE in World History have they contributed ANYTHING to commerce except slave trading and property looting and nothing to the development of new ideas and inventions aside from they have stolen from other people.
In their warped sense of reality, ANYTHING aside from the Koran, Mohammad, and the Haddiths, has ANY importance.
This is similar to the burning of the Napoleonic library in Egypt and the blowing up of the giant Buddhas in Afghanistan.
If you want to see what the west will look like under Islam, take a look at Afghanistan and Yemen. The ONLY difference is we will be using spears and swords because Muslims can’t even manufacture their own ammunition or guns.
...or still.
Maybe they are just burning the beams from their own eyes.
Motes don’t burn well.
Again. Still.
There. Fixed.
Yep. Again would imply there was a time when they weren’t.
I’m sure Sheik Obomba will condemn this outrageous act in the strongest terms. After his golf game, of course.
This must be one of the UN’s “world heritage sites”. Will we hear from them?

Yeah! That'll show 'em!
If they will not protect that which is at the root of their claims and their reason to be there then they are ultimately not serious about self defense.
No worries. When the Third Temple descends from heaven, it will squash their golden dome flat, and those inside the mosque will be spit out like water melon seeds and run like the dickens back to the Hijaz, apologizing profusely to every Jew they meet along the way, and stringing up all the rabble rowsers that incited them on any tree high enough to do the job properly as they go.
The Waqf of Jerusalem will be the first to be hoisted aloft, probably on a gallows made from the trees presently defiling the Temple Mount as accouterments for the aforementioned mosque. We have been patient for millenia. We can be patient a little while longer. The payday will be sweet enough to make it all worth while.

These are the filthy savages whom Poisondent Oboohoo is arming—using our tax money and while planning to disarm us.
The world is not just upside down. It’s been distorted in ways beyond my comprehension.
It’s argued about in the Talmud. One opinion is that the Temple will descend from On High, but we will have to build the gates. Anyway, I like to imagine the squishing the mosques (there are two) flat and spitting out moose limbs like watermelon seeds part. It just gives me a good feeling.
I am especially praying today for the people of Israel. May the Lord guard you and strengthen you.
“What about the fellows of the Land of Israel and Temple Mount Faithful?”
Well, what about them? Why don’t they just rescue these beams and stash them somewhere? Also, wasn’t the Menora supposed to be beaten into shape from a single lump of gold?
Such Temple rebuilding groups do not have the support of the leading Torah sages in Israel or the USA. This makes their efforts merely interesting instead of authoritative. Some think of their work as tourist attractions.
They did cast the Menora as one piece, just like it is supposed to be done. I understand it took them years to figure out how to do it.
The Temple Institute does not have the support of the leading Torah sages? That’s news for me!
Well, then, they can rescue a few ancient cedar logs. They are equipped and dedicated. Let them to it.
I’ve just brought the matter of the beams to their attention. Now we’ll see if they’re for real.
BTW, not only I am an American and a Christian, but I was born and grew up in Spain, so I did not really "live" during those days. What was the reason for defense minister Moshe Dayan to return control of the Temple Mount to the Moslem authorities? They had just won a war!
You could call R. Yaakov Perlow’s office and ask him...
Thanks. I just googled the name and I intend on doing so.
“What was the reason for defense minister Moshe Dayan to return control of the Temple Mount to the Moslem authorities? They had just won a war!”
1. He was a dumbass.
2. He had delusions of the possibility of piece in our times.
3. He was a dumbass.
I love reading your posts, but you always seem to have such strong feelings against the very people that I admire: Netanyahu, Dayan... I'm almost afraid to ask you, what do you think about Yoni Netanyahu? A hero, a new "maccabee", a fool? P.S. I am reading Entebbe by Iddo Netanyahu, not an easy book to read, but very interesting.
He died a hero. Heroism is a strange matter, though. I’d say that in 1948, Menachem Begin was a hero comparable to America’s George Washington. But in 1978, he was a dumbass who gave up the Sinai for promises. Moshe Dayan may have had his heroic moments, too. But in 1967, he was a dumbass. The problem with yester-year’s heroes is that the heroes live on to make expensive mistakes, banking on the stores of capital they acquired with their erstwhile heroism. As such, Yoni Netanyahu’s reputation is unasailable, because he died and went to the good place. His brother Bibi gets to be the dumbass, banking on his last name and the eloquent noises that come out of his face, belied by his actions.
My chief complaint against him is Ehud Barak and the destruction that he regularly and deliberately causes. I see it outside my window. The brave, good-hearted pioneers of Hill 18 (Mitzpe Avihai) were evacuated in the middle of the night. The ruins of their homes are still there. They are living with relatives until they can rebuild. I see it in Hevron, where the rightful purchasers of Bet Shalom and Bet Hamachpela can’t live in the homes they paid for, and the broker for the latter sale waits in a PA jail cell for a death sentence to be carried out against him. Meanwhile, the European numbskulls of the TIPH (The International Presence In Hebron) patrol in blue uniforms of the same cut as the SA brown uniforms, forever on the lookout for any violation of the rights of the poor ickle Palestinians, and studiously oblivious to the real human rights violations taking place under their noses.
Earlier this morning someone posted a very revealing article, Gaza, Judea and Samaria: Prison or Paradise? I have also seen the pictures of malls and shopping centers in Gaza City. The world should, at the very least, get out of Israel's way in settling affairs with the Palestinians. But then, it's not supposed to happen, see Psalm 83. They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more. (Ps 83:4) . That's why the peace of Jerusalem is always in my prayers.
Barak isn’t reluctantly yielding to international pressure. He’s cheerfully collaborating with it. Bibi could simply boot him out the door, but he gives very close to cart blanche to do what he wants, and everyone cheers when he puts the most miniscule damper on his former commander’s absolute power in Judah and Samaria, instead of throw him bodily out the door, as he should. They are in cahoots. Bibi only pretends to be right wing at election time. Mridor and Begin don’t even do that, all capitalizing on the names of their dead forbears. So in conclusion, the only good hero is a dead hero;-(, and even then, those that bear their name are their shame.
Yes, that psalm is uncannily apt for our times.
