Presbyterian Church USA Seminary Commends Planned Parenthood Leadership

Imagine reading a headline that stated, “Animal Rights Organization PETA Presents Meat Processing Company Tyson with Award.” Absurd, right? Why would an organization that denounces pet owners as selfish captors who subject animals to a cruel life of bondage publicly commend one of the largest slaughterhouses in America? The headline screams of hypocrisy. But our society has so boldly embraced abortion that even Christian organizations are honoring the largest abortion chain in America as a promoter of “women’s health.”

Just last week, a seminary with the Presbyterian Church-USA publicly commemorated two Planned Parenthood officials. At Auburn Seminary’s annual benefit breakfast, Cecile Richards, CEO of Planned Parenthood, and Cecilia Guthrie Boone, chair of the board of Planned Parenthood, were presented with the “Lives of Commitment” award. According to Auburn Seminary’s website, this benefit breakfast is dedicated to “honoring women who bridge religious divides, build community, and pursue justice.”

The notion that Planned Parenthood executives could be included in this description is amusing, if not appalling. Planned Parenthood’s actions in the political realm lately have hardly been amiable towards religious institutions or promoted solidarity among families. And I won’t even get started on the heinous, twisted idea than an abortion industry is promoting “justice” through the murder of innocent children. Rather, Planned Parenthood advocates the violation of Americans’ religious liberties, attacks women’s health organizations, and continues to denounce as “anti-choice” ordinances legislation increasing safety regulations on abortion.

Expounding on the award, Auburn Seminary stated:

Like the millions of people who support Planned Parenthood’s mission, Auburn recognizes Cecile Richards and Cecilia Boone as champions for reproductive health care, education, and women’s health.

The presentation of this Christian award to Planned Parenthood officials is nauseating. Scripture undeniably refers to the unborn as human beings, formed in the womb and covered with the fingerprints of the Almighty.

Psalms 139: 13, 15-16 says, “For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, Your eyes saw my unformed body.”

The ladies of Auburn Seminary need to cover their ears to the deceptive message of the culture, pick up their Bibles, and open their eyes to the clear scriptural condemnation of abortion. Because the Bible also contains a warning for individuals like them: “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter” (Isaiah 5:20).

If only the Auburn Seminary would obey the scriptural call to defend the weak among us and fervently fight for the lives of unborn children with the same passion PETA crusades for the protection of eagle eggs.

Can someone confirm that presbyterians are indeed supposed to be Christian?

“Can someone confirm that presbyterians are indeed supposed to be Christian?”

They were. Its important to note there are two main Presbyterian denominations. This story is about PCUSA which has been taken over by liberals. At the individual church level there are good people who just haven’t paid attention to what their leaders are doing.

Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) is much more Bible based.

PCusa Is NOT the Presbyterian church.. That would be the PCA.. The PCusa is the liberalised bastardized version of the Gospel

Catholics v. The Rest (of every stripe, creed, ritual, practice, and political interest).

The Reformation’s demise is now complete.

...and allow me to add for this context, the PCA is also solidly anti-abortion. The PCUSA has been careening down the slope of heresy for multiple decades now.

"The Reformation’s demise is now complete."

If you read through "Rules for Radicals" you'll find that the vast majority of the tactics in it are very little different from the approach Luther used and advocated.

From the the refusal to accept long established source materials as valid along with redefining well established terminology, through the use of ridicule, and straight on to the telling lies one after another in order overwhelm the truth, Protestantism is built on a dedication to Self rather than to Christ. The "Reformation" was just the first step on the road to the totally secular relativism the West is dying from these days.

Ridiculous. Reformed Theology is all about man's yielding to Christ as Savior - a Savior being selective of who He wants to save and providing the entire means of making it happen. He is restored to His proper place as the ultimate High Priest. Man's role is effectively reduced to repentance and faith - and God provides that as well (Ephes 2:8-9). There is no 'self' in the Reformation. And there are no earthly priests either. They aren't necessary since Christ is fully in charge.

But back on topic -- true Christians repudiate these anti-Christians thugs who have taken over that denomination and driven it straight to hell.

Can someone confirm that presbyterians are indeed supposed to be Christian? ". . . supposed to be. . ." is rather weak, so maybe someone can. The problem with PCUSA was always that their method of defending the faith once delivered to the saints was never to condemn innovations as heresy, but to refer them for study. This works for a while, but is a spiritual version of the "gambler's ruin" problem. Eventually, a General Assembly would fail to refer the aberration for study and actually adopt it.

Sorry, but that's just your personal opinion based on your personal interpretation of Scripture which is no more or less valid than is the interpretation King Barry relies on to justify the marriage of one queer to another.

Luther bragged about spreading lies, threw out a portion of the Old Testament he couldn't figure out how to reinterpret in a way that would suit his agenda, redefined terms that had had the same definition for centuries, abandoned Latin as the language of debate not so more people would be able to read the Bible (which was already available in several German translations) but to muddied the definition of words, and preached the doctrine of Self. Not Self subservient to God but rather Self subservient to Self within the bounds permitted by the Head of State. Today's fascist humanist scum are amateurs by comparison.

Following in those footsteps leads directly to the secular personal relativistic definition of truth we have today.

Luther was hardly the only Reformer out there. But he was the one initially exposing the heresies and horrible behavior of the Catholic church at the time. Heck, a common punishment for opposing the church at that time was death. Shall we start through the historical bad behaviors of the popes through the ages?
