Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The Book Of Genesis
Chapter 25

Abraham and Keturah

1. Abraham again took a wife, and her name was Keturah. 2. And she bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. 3. Jokshan begot Sheba and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, Letushim, and Leummim. 4. And the sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abidah, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.
5. And Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac. 6 But Abraham gave gifts to the sons of the concubines which Abraham had; and while he was still living he sent them eastward, away from Isaac his son, to the country of the east.

Abraham’s Death and Burial

7. This is the sum of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived: one hundred and seventy-five years. 8. Then Abraham breathed his last and died in a good old age, an old man and full of years, and was gathered to his people. 9. And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, 10. the field which Abraham purchased from the sons of Heth. There Abraham was buried, and Sarah his wife. 11. And it came to pass, after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac. And Isaac dwelt at Beer Lahai Roi.

The Families of Ishmael and Isaac

12. Now this is the genealogy of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s maidservant, bore to Abraham. 13. And these were the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: The firstborn of Ishmael,
Nebajoth; then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, 14. Mishma, Dumah, Massa, 15. Hadar,[a] Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. 16. These were the sons of Ishmael and these were their names, by their towns and their settlements, twelve princes according to their nations. 17. These were the years of the life of Ishmael: one hundred and thirty-seven years; and he breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people. 18. (They dwelt from Havilah as far as Shur, which is east of Egypt as you go toward Assyria.) He died in the presence of all his brethren.
19. This is the genealogy of Isaac, Abraham’s son. Abraham begot Isaac. 20. Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah as wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian. 21. Now Isaac pleaded with the LORD for his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22. But the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If all is well, why am I like this?” So she went to inquire of the LORD.
23. And the LORD said to her:

“Two nations are in your womb,
Two peoples shall be separated from your body;
One people shall be stronger than the other,
And the older shall serve the younger.”
24. So when her days were fulfilled for her to give birth, indeed there were twins in her womb. 25. And the first came out red. He was like a hairy garment all over; so they called his name Esau.[b] 26. Afterward his brother came out, and his hand took hold of Esau’s heel; so his name was called Jacob.[c] Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.
27. So the boys grew. And Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field; but Jacob was a mild man, dwelling in tents. 28. And Isaac loved Esau because he ate of his game, but Rebekah loved Jacob.

Esau Sells His Birthright

29. Now Jacob cooked a stew; and Esau came in from the field, and he was weary. 30. And Esau said to Jacob, “Please feed me with that same red stew, for I am weary.” Therefore his name was called Edom.[d]
31. But Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright as of this day.”
32. And Esau said, “Look, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?”
33. Then Jacob said, “Swear to me as of this day.” So he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob. 34. And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.

Footnotes:

[a] 1. Genesis 25:15 Masoretic Text reads Hadad.
[b] 2. Genesis 25:25 Literally Hairy
[c] 3. Genesis 25:26 Literally Supplanter

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent is Your Holy Name!
How Wonderful,
How Perfect,
and How Hallowed!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise and Worship,
For You Alone Are The Most High God,
The One True God Of Abraham!
We Thank You For Your Most Holy Word,
Which is So Righteous and True,
And So Enlightening in these Troubled and Perilous Times.
We Thank You For Documenting the Origins of Your People,
and of the people Surrounding Them,
So That WE can get a clearer picture
Of why there is so much hatred in that part of the world.

23. And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

Since Esau was also called "Edom" we can infer that the present-day Jordanians are the descendants of Esau.
Abba, they are STILL Struggling with each other to this day!

30. And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
31. And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. 32. And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?
33. And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he swore unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
34. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentils; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

Father, we Pray that neither Israel nor we ourselves
shall EVER sell out Our Holy God-Given Birthright
for the sake of that which is expedient!
Even if it seems as though we are STARVING for a handout,
Please LORD, let us NEVER Give Up or Give in!
For later on in the Book of Malachi,
You Tell us that YOU despised Esau for doing this!
We can't imagine you despising ANYBODY,
but if this is the thing that can cause the Wrath of God
to fall down upon us,
May it NEVER BE!

Abba, We Pray for our own Nation,
which is rapidly approaching the tipping point
of selling out Our Birthright
Of Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness,
Which Have been Endowed By YOU.
Whether for Ideological Reasons or Economic Reasons,
Please God,
Don't Let Our Nation Sell Out Our Birthright,
Or Our Friendship With Israel,
Which is the Same as Our Honor and Pledge,
For A Lousy Bowl of SOUP!

We also pray for Ourselves, Dear Father.
We Pray for Personal Resolve Within Our Hearts
that We Will Not be Tempted to "Go With The Flow",
as Things Get More Difficult.
Keep us from temptation and deliver Us from Evil.
We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem
According To Your Will And Promise,
We Pray That Anything That Does Not Give Glory To You
Be Removed From Your Holy Places.
For It Is Not By Might,
Not By Power,
But By Your Spirit, That We Shall Overcome.

We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Heavenly Father,

We your children stand together asking that you hear our prayers. Through you son, Jesus, we have been cleanse and told we can boldly enter the throne room to plead our cause. We first ask that you protect Jerusalem; All of Israel from those who wish to harm her. Israel is where Jesus, your son walked and loved and weep over. Once again, let your mighty hand stand with Israel, whether in defense of your chosen people or offense to stop a growing threat. We pray all your chosen people read your holy word and recognize that the Messiah has come through your son Jesus. Open the scriptures to them and help them to see all the prophecies that has been fulfilled through Jesus. Protect Israel and all it's people as you did in the past.

Father, this nation has lost it's way. We did sell our birthright for something temporary. We have elected people who said the right words and offered what many wanted more than you; things that will fade away and things that cause us great harm. We need you desperately to awaken this nation to the spiritual threats, and other threats around us because of our bad decisions. Our children are subject to a media who is pushing ungodly ideas though tv, music, Internet..... Protect the hearts and minds of our innocent ones and recapture the hearts of our children who believe their lies. Help them to see the destruction of lives without you, because they are shown only what appears positive.

Lord, we ask that when you appoint our next president and elected officials, that they would be people of integrity. People who have turned to you, knowing they are human and weak, but understand though you the weak are made strong and can accomplish your will. Help people to see that there are more important things at stake here than parties (thank you for showing me we can only trust you and not any political party or person; they all will eventually disappoint us.) Give us people who will follow the constitution that was inspired by you. Give all people discernment in those who are seeking political office; showing us their true motives. May they reject those who only seek power, money and have selfish motives. Help us to trust you and not what we see and hear. May all people seek righteousness and truth in our leaders.

In your son Jesus’ name we pray.

Amen

The battle is still raging and the most powerful weapon will be used until ordered to cease.

Psalm 94

God the Avenger of the Righteous

1 O Lord, you God of vengeance,
you God of vengeance, shine forth!
2 Rise up, O judge of the earth;
give to the proud what they deserve!
3 O Lord, how long shall the wicked,
how long shall the wicked exult?

4 They pour out their arrogant words;
all the evildoers boast.
5 They crush your people, O Lord,
and afflict your heritage.
6 They kill the widow and the stranger,
they murder the orphan,
7 and they say, ‘The Lord does not see;
the God of Jacob does not perceive.’

8 Understand, O dullest of the people;
fools, when will you be wise?
9 He who planted the ear, does he not hear?
He who formed the eye, does he not see?
10 He who disciplines the nations,
he who teaches knowledge to humankind,
does he not chastise?
11 The Lord knows our thoughts,*
that they are but an empty breath.

12 Happy are those whom you discipline, O Lord,
and whom you teach out of your law,
13 giving them respite from days of trouble,
until a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For the Lord will not forsake his people;
he will not abandon his heritage;
15 for justice will return to the righteous,
and all the upright in heart will follow it.

16 Who rises up for me against the wicked?
Who stands up for me against evildoers?
17 If the Lord had not been my help,
my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence.
18 When I thought, ‘My foot is slipping’,
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
19 When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul.
20 Can wicked rulers be allied with you,
those who contrive mischief by statute?
21 They band together against the life of the righteous,
and condemn the innocent to death.
22 But the Lord has become my stronghold,
and my God the rock of my refuge.
23 He will repay them for their iniquity
and wipe them out for their wickedness;
the Lord our God will wipe them out.

Heavenly Father may you continue to bring an overwhelming, crushing defeat on the forces of darkness in our nation, may you smash every crooked deed as they try to hold onto power and may this be so convincing that everyone knows that your hand is in this. Then we may bring the light of your Gospel to the nations as you did this time in history:

http://jn1838.blogspot.com/2010/02/battle-of-lepanto-battle-that-saved.html

May you block and undo every policy and piece of legislation they have passed that is harmful to this nation. May you make every policy they make fail and may you turn the hearts of the multitudes against them. May you thwart every evil deed they try to divide this nation. May you bring their own mischief upon them ten fold. This day we shatter the clay jar of Jeremiah 19 in their faces. May you punish those in our government who are lawless traitors and also enemies of Israel by exposing them and deliver them into our hands for justice

And this we humbly ask in Jesus name.

Psalm 37

Exhortation to Patience and Trust
Of David.

1 Do not fret because of the wicked;
do not be envious of wrongdoers,
2 for they will soon fade like the grass,
and wither like the green herb.

3 Trust in the Lord, and do good;
so you will live in the land, and enjoy security.
4 Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act.
6 He will make your vindication shine like the light,
and the justice of your cause like the noonday.

7 Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him;
do not fret over those who prosper in their way,
over those who carry out evil devices.

8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath.
Do not fret—it leads only to evil.
9 For the wicked shall be cut off,
but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.

10 Yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more;
though you look diligently for their place, they will not be there.
11 But the meek shall inherit the land,
and delight in abundant prosperity.

12 The wicked plot against the righteous,
and gnash their teeth at them;
13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked,
for he sees that their day is coming.

14 The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows
to bring down the poor and needy,
to kill those who walk uprightly;
15 their sword shall enter their own heart,
and their bows shall be broken.

16 Better is a little that the righteous person has
than the abundance of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous.

18 The Lord knows the days of the blameless,
and their heritage will abide for ever;
19 they are not put to shame in evil times,
in the days of famine they have abundance.

20 But the wicked perish,
and the enemies of the Lord are like the glory of the pastures;
they vanish—like smoke they vanish away.

21 The wicked borrow, and do not pay back,
but the righteous are generous and keep giving;
22 for those blessed by the Lord shall inherit the land,
but those cursed by him shall be cut off.

23 Our steps* are made firm by the Lord,
when he delights in our* way;
24 though we stumble,* we* shall not fall headlong,
for the Lord holds us* by the hand.

25 I have been young, and now am old,
yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread.
26 They are ever giving liberally and lending,
and their children become a blessing.

27 Depart from evil, and do good;
so you shall abide for ever.
28 For the Lord loves justice;
he will not forsake his faithful ones.

The righteous shall be kept safe for ever,
but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land,
and live in it for ever.

30 The mouths of the righteous utter wisdom,
and their tongues speak justice.
31 The law of their God is in their hearts;
their steps do not slip.

32 The wicked watch for the righteous,
and seek to kill them.
33 The Lord will not abandon them to their power,
or let them be condemned when they are brought to trial.

34 Wait for the Lord, and keep to his way,
and he will exalt you to inherit the land;
you will look on the destruction of the wicked.

35 I have seen the wicked oppressing,
and towering like a cedar of Lebanon.*
36 Again I* passed by, and they were no more;
though I sought them, they could not be found.

37 Mark the blameless, and behold the upright,
for there is posterity for the peaceable.
38 But transgressors shall be altogether destroyed;
the posterity of the wicked shall be cut off.

39 The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord;
he is their refuge in the time of trouble.
40 The Lord helps them and rescues them;
he rescues them from the wicked, and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.
