Presbyterians Make it to the Party with First Openly Gay Minister

On Saturday, October 8th in Madison, Wisconson, Scott Anderson became the first openly gay ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church.

This ordination is especially poignant for Anderson who came out to his California congregation when he was in his late thirties, over twenty years ago. He resigned as a result.

Nancy Enderle, the interim executive director of the Covenant Network of Presbyterians, told The Associated Press that the ordination was a glorious celebration that touched everyone, especially Anderson.

“He’s a very dignified and poised person but you could tell he was deeply moved,” she said

“The Episcopalians, the Lutherans, the United Church of Christ have all made this step and all have experienced losses, yet have survived.”

The United Church of Christ led the way in 1972, the Methodists followed the way in 1989 with Joanne Brown, the Episcopalians got there in 2003, and again in 2005 with Bishop Gene Robinson, and finally the Lutherans founded an organization committed to the full participation of persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities in the life and ministry of the Lutheran church. ELM stands in opposition to the policies of discrimination against gay, lesbian and transgender individuals in Lutheran churches around the world.

“The Episcopalians, the Lutherans, the United Church of Christ have all made this step and all have experienced losses, yet have survived.”

Barely. These denominations are losing members every year.

All of the ecclesial communities mentioned in the article have groups of people who oppose these liberal tendencies. I couldn’t imagine seeing anything like this take place, for example, in the PCA, LCMS, WELS or ACNA.

The Roman Empire survived Nero too. I suppose that made him a great emperor. < / sarcasm >

not in the LCSM or WELS as they don't have the same "let's vote on scripture approach", but unfortunately there are signs in the PCA -- they have had recent votes on adding deaconnesses

Once that is won, then the next will be pastoresses and finally gay married pastors.

if the entire community can vote on creating doctrine, then this is what happens...

"though they forgot the Unitarians...."

And all of the gay/pedophile priests that populate the Catholic organization.

Every, repeat every, organization which creates a "thing" of itself is broken beyond repair. No denominations, organizations, were ever contemplated by the apostles. Read the text...it is conspicuously absent. The only "things" these men knew were the independent congregatsion which gathered in homes/businesses to be taught the Scriptures and celebrate their rescue. And they removed the men who became deviates (eg I&II Cor.) Nevertheless, Rome led the charge and now reaps a whirlwind right along with all of the screwed up "protestant" groups.

Homos worked well for the Catholic Church, now time to infiltrate the others with same, but do it openly.

One has to wonder how this squares with the perv’s homosexual religion. Ever notice how being queer is the most important thing in their life?

what I don’t get it why don’t they form their own little denomination? Considering the number of splits the Presbyterians have had in the past half-century, another denomination calling itself the gay-friendl-presbyterians would be normal.

Oh, it’ll still be the most important thing in his life. He’ll use his pulpit to promote all manner of perversion.

One of my wife’s cousins was recently ordained as an Episcopal priestess. She started promoting homosexual perversion as soon as she arrived at seminary, and hasn’t stopped since. Yet I’ve heard her speak almost nothing of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Their goal is to force acceptance on others. They are not Christians, they are homosexualists and those that follow are homophiles.

Yes. He will be moved. To the Lake of Fire. That is his next address. This person, those who chose him, this "religion" are ALL going to meet Judgment from the On High for this. The Bible is CLEAR on homosexuality. There is NO mistake what it says. Clearly: a man will not lay with another man! PERIOD. END OF DISCUSSION. He is a sinner and in need of repentance. If he has a congregation, he is leading them to hell.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.

This is not a fight among men, but spiritial warfare. It is not survival on earth that is the prize, it is salvation, eternal life. Pray for all of us to be given and receive the gift of understanding that only the Holy Spirit reveals. The word of God should not be confusing. Reject false religions, do not follow those who reject the way of the Lord. Pray for them and exhibit Godliness.
